My husband and I just got our youtube channel monetized after 1 year and 11 months....started on July 16, 2022, and was monetized on June 16, 2024. 🎉🎉🎉 We now have US6.55... look at God! We dont show our faces, we are Jamaican, and we film and post in Jamaica... we are praying that this channel will grow beyond our wildest imagination. It's been my dream since 2011 when I started my personal channel (that has 164 subs). To God be the glory. We hope to use the funds from this channel to complete our dream house...1 video at a time is how we are doing it and praying as we go along.🎉
Around the 53 minute mark, Omar talks about how a candle maker could start classes, as an example, to make more revenue per customer. He was using this as an example, but I want to back him in that this is 1000% true. This episode is pure gold. I have a client that spent 5 years selling their candles at markets and online. Earlier this year they launched candle making and lantern making classes, and 4x’d their monthly income. Wild. Take the advice from this episode 💯💯
Shifting from "on UA-cam " to " WITH youtube " Those is the key for the castle! Love it❤ By the way, before 4-5 months I made my first money with youtube video, because the link in the description, for my simple digital product. And get this : For less than 24 hours after uploading the video, with zero subscribers, and the video ctr and watch time was tragedy, even the sales page from the link in the description, was not master piece. But the fact is fact, and the money was in my pocket 😊 Thank you for this eyes opening video❤
To answer further in her question at 4:06 , "it YT is the best platform for building trust, why is it the hardest for most people?"... I would say because people who fall into the short form trap, get caught up in vanity metrics/views. If youre utilizing social media for building a business, I would wager that you will earn WAY MORE with long form videos that reach hundreds to a few thousand of the RIGHT people, than you will from short form that gets you hundreds of thousands of views to a totally random audience.
There is a lot of UA-cam advice being given that is based in theory. Knowing what I know today, my advice is to apply one technique at a time. UA-cam analytics will let you know if your adaptation was worthwhile.
Thanks to you!! my video podcast has been crushing it every week! I do it live on you tube every week, im getting 100 to 500 dollars in super chats donations every week....crazy!! thanks to you guys!!
this helps so much. I have had my channel since 2021. It's a grief channel. I feel like I am working harder and not smarter. This is helpful. I am in the process of rebranding my name to reflect my grief therapy and sibling grief expertise as well. thanks!
I’m no expert on grief but I do know that it’s important to let yourself move through it instead of ignoring it or bottling it up. Maybe you can play around with some words in rebranding like calling your channel or a playlist on your channel “Good Grief”?
I loved the vid Omar! I'm spinning up an agency and my content plan is to make content so people don't have to hire me. Your idea of sponsoring my own video is pure genius. It's like "by the way if you'd like to save time and have this done for you..." You definitely hit gold with this one!
I can totally hear the influence of Myron Golden in Omar!!! This is amazing!!!! Sooooooooooo happy and proud of you and don’t know you!!! I am in the process of figuring out how I can afford Myron Golden as a mentor!! And now even you!!!!
I always love your videos. This here, blew my mind! I have to go back and watch the previous podcasts. You've given me ideas to actually add to my publishing business. I write full time and answers questions for others.
There are so many benefits to starting a YT channel it seems. Thanks for sharing these monetisation tips - it’s great to think outside the box with this stuff.
Thanks so much, Omar for this episode. This is arguably my best episode on the podcast so far. It came at the right time! I first came across you on UA-cam through Think Media. I'm impressed on how far you've gone in The Dept. Keep up the good work... stay blessed!
This was far and away the best video I've seen on this topic! I came away with SO many new insights after watching this video as I prepare "what's next" for myself and my channel.
Glad you started your own thing. Think media was pretty bad I stopped watching it for a while now. And I subbed to you right away as soon as I saw your name in my recommendation ❤❤
Amazing content to you Omar and your team and great guests. Great concept on sharing and providing awesome information and practical ways to execute!!! Big shout out to you all!! Thank you 🙏🏽
The thing also that stops people from doing more and getting started is the immense self doubt and impostor syndrome that plagues people. Which is so sad
thank you for making such a basic understanding of UA-cam! I learned alot! Please make more videos like this... I hesitate starting because any video I watch uses advanced language and assumes I know what they mean.
There is so much to unpack in this episode! This is why I’m in your coaching group❤️! Thanks for giving game on how I can make 100k in my soap business 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for sharing these valuable insights, Omar. Your emphasis on building trust through long-form content and leveraging UA-cam as a funnel for existing businesses is spot-on. It's interesting how you compare different platforms, noting UA-cam's strength as a search engine and its ability to foster deeper connections with viewers. One counterintuitive idea could be experimenting with live streaming, which can enhance engagement and trust even further. Additionally, consider integrating user-generated content to build community and authenticity. Your approach is comprehensive, and these added strategies could further enrich your content and business model.
Dudeeeee! Thank you for this video. Subscribed. I like what you said about not offering an intimate experience for your audience. I've been on UA-cam making videos for 7 years and with my subscriber count and videos I feel like this might be the culprit stunning my growth. I think it's import to TALK to your audience because after all, it's about that human connection. I'm still working on that. My goal is to make it to 10K subs in 12 months. 🤞
This is like my 4th video that I’ve binged and it was so good! The candle-making example is genius. As a certified financial educator, I’ve built a solid community online and I’ve been thinking of ways to get them together offline. I wrote down events and retreats as a new option to consider. Finances are also so personal so having a safe space for my money girls (what I call our community) feels so aligned. Thank you again! ❤
I feel that way about you too. It’s just like you give so much that it’s like oh yeah I wanna get to the point that I can work with him just to like give you money.
Interesting topic! I had to come back to the video later. It just seemed to absolutely drag on until the 11:10 min marker to start talking about what the title intended! Just constructive criticism! Cool video, and thanks for sharing!
Bro 🔥 Great episode, well I think all of them are great 🤣 but this one is deep for all the ones like me that are thinking to start for long time but now you take out expectations on the ascents and focus on creating and giving 🙏🏻 monetize your self 🔥🙏🏻
Thank you very much for posting such inspiration content with the insightful message. With all the hyped contents out there on the youtube, you stood out among them.
I just came across your Contant. I noticed a few things; put your phone down and leave it on silent, or do not disturb, you also didn’t let the guy speak as much as I would’ve like to hear, you said I a lot in this interview, didn’t hear much from your guest. Now the production was well done and overall the quality was good. I noticed that your cast grabbed his phone during the discussion, although it looks authentic it’s still a business meeting. I believe that both the host and guest should not have their phone out. Continue with the great interviews and you are an inspiration still to create a business on UA-cam and overall I understood your point you were making.
At this point I think I’ll never start a UA-cam channel because honestly I just want to be a content creator and not a biz owner with a UA-cam channel…
What if you know what you want to speak on but can't narrow down who you want to speak your message to? I haven't really heard anyone talk or give advice on this, and this is a space I really want to get into so I can build my brand! Any tips?
