I have a 13.9 pin and weld. I too have a midwest industries folding buffer tube. I added a BAD lever because on this gun I find it necessary. Two classes last year with it, zero issues and no stoppages.
Not affiliated with FM, just a customer, personally i love my 9inch FM15, in .223W. Had a small issue and FM fixed it fast and free and friendly. Just an average guy, military experience in Afghanistan, anf a dad of 3 husband and home owner as i said a basic average guy, and I cant say enough good things about my FM15.
I've got 11.5 inch from aim sports, I've got AR's that cost 2-3 times as much, this is one the flattest shooting guns I have (stock!!)... it's one of my favorites.. Foxtrot Mike really goes above and beyond for any price point especially for what they charge there my first recommendation to someone who needs an AR under $1k... hell for under $800!!! Can't fo wrong
I love FM15(13.9” Primary Arms)! The Dead KeyMo Muzzle complimented my can. I have a simple stream light with a touch pad on the 12’O clock right in front of my Eotech XPS. I have a Magpul AFG foregrip. FDE rail ladder covers on top and cut to fit in between the Eotech + Magpul front/back MBUIS sights. FDE Magpul SL Stock + FDE BCM pistol grip. Strike Industries MLok Covers on the sides in the 3 & 9’O clock positions. It also has a Magpul MAD Lever(A MUST HAVE) with a PSA skeletonized adjustable trigger and some Anti-Walk Pins + Bar. So far I love the reliability, aesthetics, and folding stock. It replaced my DD MK18 as my primary home rifle. Great review!
dam i really wish i knew about this before i had build my first ar. i wouldve gone with a 13.9 pin and weld. the foldable stock and legal length is everything
Thanks for the detailed explanation of the system. Foxtrot Mike makes some innovative products. I have two of their AR-9 Uppers, and they've been flawless with every type of ammo with & without a suppressor. Can't wait to get the 12.5" 5.56.
No, the buffer is not self contained in the upper receiver, so it works the same as a AR-9. I did buy a Roller Delayed Blowback system for it from Maxim Defense. It's totally badass shooting suppressed.
I believe your "old MPX stock" is called the "Kate Moss" stock. Very desired but not available anymore. Pretty sure they're worth well more than you probably paid for it at this point.
Make sure if you just get the upper that ur lower isnt equipped with special drop in triggers as it will cause your FM to run Full Auto, so make sure you ONLY use a normal AR trigger in your lower.

I just have a hard time understanding the concept. I keep hearing the recoil impulse is similar to a piston gun, I mean let’s be real one of the few reasons for a gas gun is the recoils impulse and standardization. You take away both of those things with this upper. Also, you will always get more gas in the face with a DI gun when using a can.
Interesting. I have a 12.5 FM-15, upper and lower, and it didn't come with a adjustable gas block. And then the gas block you held up didn't look adjustable. It looked like mine.
Are the barrel dimensions the same as standard ar15? As in could you in theory use the FM15 barrel on an ar15 upper with a standard barrel nut and handguard?
Bought the FM 12.5 upper. I could not get the charging handle out to swap to right side (even took the set screw all the way out), couldn't budge it, all I did when I tried to tap it out was scratch my brand new upper. Mated the upper with a Sharps Brothers lower, and noted lots of play. ( other uppers were very snug on this lower). I will say the machining looks nice, and this is a nice light firearm being almost a pound lighter than my Gieslie super duty 11.5 . Will have to see if function and performance make up for the initial disapointments. YMMV
@@todnedowas gonna say this. Was a bit annoying, because the included manual only mentioned a single set screw. I fought it for a whole evening before I got a reply back from FM via e-mail. Should be a FAQ on their website, but it isn’t.
do they make a big that works with standard upper. i have no desire to retrain to a forward charging handle. and so far none of the short bcgs have good enough reliability

Is the 9mm upper self contained? Like can it fire with the stock folded? He said the 15 was but I can’t find a forsure answer on the 9

Just picked up this 12.5" upper from Rainier Arms! Can't wait to inspect, clean, then shoot it soon!
It's like a Dissent, but it came out first, and without CMMG tax or lead times. :)
Great job on the review man!!
I liked it so much I bought a second one!

Oh no that's terrible
Which triggers specifically so I know to avoid them?
Absolutely avoid franklin armory or the sd3
They need to offer a 10" in 300BLK.

Can you do a review on the brigade makasi

Is this considered an arp? Thinking bout getting one as a gift to myself after me and my girlfriend buy our first house.
Do they make a pinned and welded 14 inch to avoid SBR? Or, at least, a 16 inch?
I have a 13.9 pin and weld. From Primary Arms.
They make both a 13.9" for pin and weld, plus an 16" standard barrel.

Don't they make this in 300blk ?
Sure do; Unregistered

What about people that can’t get those lowers, will that upper fit on an Anderson or spikes tactical lower ?
It fits any lower
Is the barrel proprietary? that seems to be the hardest question to be answered
It is.

They put two set screws on the charging handle so the first one is to keep dirt and debris out of the threads.

Is that size upper considered a pistol ?
Yep
what is the caliber of ammunition that it's chambered for?
Does anyone know if the CMMG 22LR bravo conversion kit will work within the FM-15?
