Very very awesome informative video. I’m considering this cam in my ranger at the moment. The discontinued .533 hydraulic roller lunati. Seems lazy. Must be why it’s not made anymore. Thanks 👍🏻
Nice car, did you notice a big difference in performance? I'm putting the tfs stage 1 cam in my lightning and adding roller lifters and rockers and tfs valve springs, shorty headers pretty much same mods as you, it already has the GT40 heads from the factory. I'm just hoping I don't lose low end torque being it's in a heavy pick up.
Hey Will. I’ve got a similar setup GT40 head explorer intake roller 1.6 shorty header TFS 1. But the idle is so tame it almost sounds stock. I’d like to have more like what this car idles like. What RPM was this around? Did you do any cam phasing adjustments?
@@WilliamGreenlee makes me wish I would’ve set the time aside to do the same with my car, I swear I’ve gone through 5 different exhaust setups and I could’ve made a good video on the difference from each one I’ve done lol
No. I used Melling standard replacement. Hardened not needed unless using guide plates. Stock GT40 heads use one direction rotating rockers so the pushrods don't move around.
No, Ford Racing springs with .5 to 1 inch drop, can't remember. These springs are discontinued though, and I had the rubber isolator only on the front driver's side because naturally these cars kinda sit crooked (the isolator helped).
Fantastic side-by-side comparison, with the mic far enough to not be distorted.
I have a 347 with a stage 2 tfs cam. Its nuts! Wish I had heard this comparison before I built the motor! Thanks.
Why aren’t all exhaust vids like this
Gotta love that you have an electric Honda too!! Nice bro😁😉

Did u end up putting the cam in and how did u like it
How does she run? Any track times? I'm working on a similar set-up, but running carburetor.
Nice, I like the way you formatted the video. Did you check piston to valve clearance, or did you just install with no problems ?
Did not check, read it would be ok.
@@WilliamGreenlee Ok,thanks
Awesome comparison
Car sounds awesome 👌

No phase change. What's your exhaust?
Hey man, would this cam work with trick flow 170 twisted wedge heads (61cc chambers) and a stock bottom end?
Sounds great for a stage 1 cam.
Great video really good help 🤘
Good video. Bet it was a night and day difference in power
Good work
You sir know how to film an exhaust video
Thanks, it was a PITA to do haha

Nice video, and nice car. 1.6 rockers, or 1.7’s?
Thanks! 1.6 ProForm
@@WilliamGreenlee part # for the spring kit?
@@slambergang Don't have it but it was from "Alex's Parts" years ago as a conversion kit.
I like that Steeda wing. Let me know if you ever want to get rid of it lol
Thanks, the wing was awesome. I sold this car a few years ago tho.
What distributor are you using?
Like just a standard Rockauto.com replacement, nothing special.
Did you have to use harden pushrods?
No. I used Melling standard replacement. Hardened not needed unless using guide plates. Stock GT40 heads use one direction rotating rockers so the pushrods don't move around.
Love the white Cobras 👍
I'm guessing, 260ish, RWHP.
Made 265 RWHP in 2nd gear (couldn't test 1:1 can't remember why).
Trick flow stage 1 got a lil rumble!
That's basically a new motor. It supposed to sound different.
Stock springs?
No, Ford Racing springs with .5 to 1 inch drop, can't remember. These springs are discontinued though, and I had the rubber isolator only on the front driver's side because naturally these cars kinda sit crooked (the isolator helped).
I think he meant valve springs on the heads
@@WilliamGreenlee oh sorry I was asking if you were using the stock head valve springs after the cam swap? Thanks @Andrew Hill
Oh! Haha. The answer is no, I used the GT40 head spring kit from "Alex Parts". You can google it. I could not run this cam with the factory springs.
Sure is a lot of work to change camshafts
Check out mine. I have some new goodies to put on it soon.
