The SolidGoldFX 76 Plus combines a filthy octave up fuzz with a multi-wave filter, imparting '70s Japan fuzztones with an expressive twist. At the heart is an analog fuzz with massive gain and octave up baked in. Unlike vintage designs such as the Univox Superfuzz, you’re not stuck with two extreme tone choices, the Texture knob blends seamlessly between scooped to a snarling midboost, letting you find your own sweet spot. Plus, there’s helpful tweaking with a 3-way Color switch to adjust the high end and a Clip switch for either classic germanium compression, a hybrid with silicon or a loud and less compressed offering in the middle.
Heading over to the left side is a completely independent Filter section, which is designed to enhance the fuzz or be played on its own. The simple speed and volume allow watery wah, slow churning sweeps and step filtering, thanks to more toggle switches below.
Expression input allows a pedal to control the rate, but there's also a Manual mode that gives you wah effects plus two more modes for Triangle or stepped Square wave modulation. You then have the option to morph these waves with a 3-way Shape toggle.
Plus, a look inside reveals two DIP switches to better match the filter section to your rig with a Resonance boost and a high cut for warmer filtering into your amp.
The 76 Plus Octave Fuzz & Filter is wired for true bypass on both sides and is handbuilt in Montreal Canada like all SolidGoldFX.

Andy is the best thing to happen to pedals and UA-cam.
It's getting to the point where I feel like I just need every SolidGoldFX pedal. You're certainly influencing this decision!
That intro jam is so good, I just keep listening to it, really takes you back to the 70's psychedelic rock era.
Everytime I see that goldtop redtail I like it even more, that thing is gorgeous.
Best pedal breakdown video I've seen.
That's a great little box! Sounds terrific, Andy.
Definitely cool to have a diverse palette of octave fuzz......focused, yet versatile 🤘🏽
Hendrix in pedal form...neat!
7:38 - I see what you did there
Conspiracy theory: ANDY IS KNOBS
0:56 Happy Andy
That's a hell of Fuzz pedal. So many options and sounds. It's literally like having 6 different pedals.10 out 10. PDX !
This thing sounds great on bass too!
that old G&L still sounds so good
Hey Andy what do you think about making a Psychedelic Rock pedalboard video? Kinda like the Shoegaze one you did that one was great.
This, please!
great idea
Wow! I always wanted the previous version but this one takes the biscuit!
I found a new reference audio source for dialing in my guitar's tone in a DAW.
I recently picked this up. It's a great fuzz pedal and the filter options add movement and can help get those vowel sounds you hear with wah wah pedals. SolidGoldFX makes another awesome pedal called the Lysis. I love them both. An expression pedal is a must if you want the most out of them. Thanks for this demo - it definitely influenced my decision to give this pedal a try.
I’m happy to help! Glad you enjoy the pedals, I love the exp with Lysis too 👍🏻
I saw the Kangra. Thought it was awesome. Then, I found THIS!! Holy eff!!
Fuzz+Octave= 😁😁😁
Best guitar technique on the internet !!!
Someone needs to let William Reid know Solidgoldfx has him covered. ;)
sounds like smashing pumpkins hired steve stevens - pretty cool
Puuh - Monster ...!
It's too bad they got rid of the "dark" switch like on the original 76 pedal. I'm struggling to get that same dark tone on this pedal.
Great video. I see that you do not use a pick. I don't use one either and keep thinking that I should, but your playing is making me think. Is it possible you could do a video on how you play please? Thanks, Chris.
there is a great vid on Andydemos where he goes over his pickless technique .check it out
Third song?
Simon Balbus-Holmquist All the examples are originals, thanks!
So... how much is this like the Ultra 213? As I snoozed on getting one!!!
The basic fuzz tones are very different, this one being an octave up fuzz. The filter on 76 is LFO (automatic), where the 213 would require you moving an exp back and forth to get similar results. They do share a similar wide filter sweep though. Thanks for watching!
What model do you use for the expression pedal?
I have used this M-Audio for some time because it gets the job done but it's not my favorite because it's plastic. I recently got the Source Audio Reflex which can be programmed to limit the heel/toe values and offers different expression curves.
@@AndyDemos i have been looking at getting the db 440 dual axis to be able to control 2 parameters at once.that demo of the belle epoch deluxe was amazing
Damn, that sounds great. Can't afford it though.
Black Friday. It's $200 right now.
Got mine on Black Friday for $200! And it’s fucking incredible. It’s based on my favorite fuzz pedals of all time which is plus. The Japanese fuzzes are bad ass. Shin-Ei ( who made the Uni-Vibe ) companion fuzz is so gnarly
did someone say kangra
mattyy I Different fuzz, different filter. Definitely a nice pairing of effects and something that should be explored!
Has Gibson tried to sue your dad yet for making that guitar? 😂
not a problem, It was a gift not sold .I built it for fun not bucks.
@@edadpops1709 Best loophole ever! Authentic, indeed.
Edad Martin Gibson will probably try to sue you anyway, lol. Beautiful guitar 😍
