Super Mario 74 is a Super Mario 64 (tasvideos.org/2...) ROM hack made by Lugmillord in 2011. It introduces new harder levels, custom music and a greater amount of Stars to collect.
The hack often pokes fun at both the player and the original game. Most of the dialogue is silly or sarcastic and some star names are deliberately unclear to give the player no help in finding them.
First-time TASer homerfunky uses the game's various glitches to blast through the hack, finishing with all 151 stars in less than two hours.

i genuinely don't know how you guys don't see it but this upload still has the same messed up lag as the one before, that mine doesn't. i will say that i mostly see it in the overworld if that helps
It's probably just the computer. Sometimes ROM hacks are harder for the computer to run then other games.
the flying segment for course 13's 'red coin flight' was a thing of beauty. that's the sort of thing i like to see in TAS.

Actually, there is a Kaizo Mario 64 rom hack using the original levels. Further yet, Lugmillord (the creator of this hack) released a significantly harder version called Super Mario 74 Extreme Edition. You want hard? This is a walk in the park.
Yeah, Night of Doom is generally considered the hardest SM64 hack. I think BroDute was just trying to max out the difficulty. It's practically unplayable unless your skills are uber tier.

Really, it's because of the way spawn points work in Mario 64. It's difficult to position the re-entry into the overworld.
This homer guy is a genius! To find all these cool ways to break the game is a sure talent !

He actually used frame advance to do that and played back the TAS recording, which records every input you make while cutting out the frame advance when playing it back. Pretty cool, I know!
I agree though. Those are some insane moves! It takes lots of practice and frame advancing to do that. Even I'm not perfect. I'm getting better, though.

No clue. Must be a glitch.
Because the overworld has its own coins, and the games counts those coins instead of the level you played
I don’t understand that either! That is why this game isn’t recommendable.

Tower of east, because of a bug, the Game counts it like a proper level instead of a HUB

I know I'm not an official TASer, but I am practicing tool assisted speedruns on Mupen64-RR and I'm getting better at it. Just takes practice! And frame advance!

redjarman Lugmillord (the creator) didn't use assembly editing, so he just couldn't place the spawn points.
Is RNG the reason the stars aren't done in order within a course?
Maybe it is. Maybe it's not. Only the TASer knows.

Sir, could you please try to help me, I'm attempting to upload simple high quality UA-cam test videos with a resolution of 1440p and higher, but UA-cam does'nt seem to be processing it in a resolution higher than full HD, even though I clearly uploaded it in 16:9 aspect ratio and the respective pixel counts (like 2560x1440), but it does nothing higher than 1080p, how are you able to do 4K resolution videos? (I have no experience with encoding, if that even has to do something with this problem.) By the way, I know this is'nt a comment that is related to this video, but I just want to know if you understand it, and if you can help me with it. Greetings from Dutch Mario Channel.
Here's something you could do. Try encoding it with a different software. Different encoding softwares have different results.
