We made our Mexican papás try boba tea, also known as bubble tea, for the first time! "Boba is made from tapioca starch, also known as cassava starch, which is why they're often also labeled as "tapioca pearls." They're small spheres that are often simmered in a brown sugar syrup to give them a sweet taste and dark black color. Boba is practically tasteless, making it easy to pair with a variety of drinks. There are also popping boba varieties, which are often colorful and filled with fruit-flavored syrups like strawberry or lychee" (allrecipes.com). They tried all sorts of boba drinks such as Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Taro Milk Tea, Black Milk Tea, Thai Tea, Honeydew Milk Tea, Strawberry Milk Tea, and Mango Slush! Have you ever tried boba before? Since 2/3 weren't crazy about the tapioca pearls give them more flavors with different add ons! Rainbow jellies were a game changer for me before I liked tapioca. The popping boba are really tasty in fruit teas, and there's fun stuff like pudding and cheese foam (somewhere between cheesecake and whipped cream)
Yes, so many different combos to try. Game changer for me were the jellies too... especially the lychee and coffee flavored ones. 😁👍

yes! i love doing coconut milk tea with mini boba and pudding, or lychee fruit green tea with cheese foam, theres so many different ways to enjoy boba! I want a round 2 of this video !!
i prefer aloe gera gel. i dont like chewing pearls, choking hazard too. i feel like the other toppings are easier to chew or just swallow. I use to like pearls, when it was the only topping, but theres so much better toppings now..

Honeydew is literally one of my favorite flavors, especially frozen with lychee jelly ♥️ 2nd favorite flavor is brown sugar milk tea with either regular boba or crystal boba 🤤
as someone who is obsessed with boba, ive noticed how a lot of older men can’t get past the tapioca pearls (including my Asian dad lol), so vicente for the win!

My dad took me to Chicago’s Chinatown to pick up my birthday cake. I ordered a mango smoothie with tapioca. My dad tried it and finished it. He said he liked the bolitas. 😂

These are some very basic yet classic flavors, especially the black tapioca balls aka boba aka pearls. If you go to enough boba tea/drink shops (2 or more), there are soooo many other drink flavor combos out there!! Especially the various toppings, jellies and pearls!! So many amazing combos to try and/or try the shop's signature drinks. I tend to stick to the same flavor every time I get one....lol...either Thai tea with classic boba black pearls, dirty brown sugar, milk tea with red beans mix plus lychee jellies, or matcha green tea with coffee jellies. 😂

they make almost any tea flavor taste good. I like taro, ube and matcha. Thai tea is more of an acquired taste, but some do it really well.
The best Thai Milk Tea is the authentic brand in Thailand which is Cha Tra Mue

As often as ive tried boba I just cant get down with the standard boba pearls. Every different one ive tried all taste like nothing. The boba filled with liquid tho are amazing

If you want to go for slushes, avoid bobas; the temperature makes them tougher and some people cant chew icy things.
I'd recommend any of the jelly/pudding toppings like lychee slush with lychee jelly to double stack cooling buffs.

I like the jellies(I get coffee and grass jellies), red beans and flan more than the pearls. The popping boba are ok, but jellies are better and if you get a 25% sugar it balances out with the sweet additions.

They even have fruit flavoured Boba balls, which I tried both the tapioca balls and fruit balls when I was a kid be at a college, so good they’re both so good

Yes I’m Vietnamese and I grew up in San Diego so Tj is right there so I grew up eating hella good Mexican dishes in restaurant and homes and asians and Mexicans have that spice, citrus, balanced meals YUM

mango is almost always good flavor. If taro didn't come in first, it would have been a hit since it's not a very common flavor but it's so good.
