Awesome video as always mate. I’m in the look out for something for home too. Will check this one out.
I highly recommend it too, Nash.
Hi Chris, this is pretty much the same as my mower, although I got the version with the metal deck. We live on a heavily sloping acre and this mower has been awesome. I have never had a self propelled mower before and can't imagine going back to one you have to push. I have three batteries (2 x 7.5 amp-hr and 1 x 2.5 amp-hr) and the batteries charge faster than they discharge (as long as you get the rapid charger), so you will never run out. A tip: disengage the self propel function when you need to change direction. It is a lot easier. I also have the EGO chainsaw which is also very handy.
I no longer have any fossil powered tools. I have the Stihl Kombi system with the big (1.1 kWh) backpack battery. It is compatible with all the petrol Kombi attachments (blower, lopper, hedger, powersweep etc) so when my Stihl petrol engine got to the end of its days, I upgraded to the electric motor. Plug and play.
It is great to be able to maintain the garden using the power the sun.
michaelfink64 g’day Michael, I was wondering how the stihl gear is going?
I’m looking at getting a battery stihl mower, chainsaw, pole saw etc and I am curious of performance.
Cheers, Dean.
Hi, I have the EGO chainsaw and mower, so can't really comment on the Stihl versions, but the Stihl electric motor with the Kombi attachments is great. Very solid construction. Using the big battery, I have never had to recharge during a job.
good review , i have the same mower as well as the weed trimmer and a blower with a couple of batteries and and fast charger very happy with the quietness and ease of no extension cord or petrol a bit pricey but love it
OUCH. A good product - but that price is savage.
At that price point I feel it should have a steal or aluminium body. Thanks for the quick review. Look to get a new electric mower soon.
I got one with a steel deck for about the same price.
@@michaelfink64 I will look into it thanks. I am so over all the plastic stuff that fail after a few years. Missing the quality stuff you were able to purchase 30 years ago. 😉
Any chance of getting hold of a stihl battery mower or a husqvarna battery mower to do a comparisonChris?
Cheers, Dean
I'll try!
Can you get mulch blades for this
Yep sure can. Link is here! egopowerplus.com.au/52-cm-premium-mulching-blade-set/
I just ripped up the grass and put mulch down. It cost less and I never have to cut anything.
Just like with a Tesla battery do not charge to 100% and let it sit for long periods of time fully charged.
Charge to 75% or top up right before using if you need more.
Agreed, but it's so fast. As there's no control for highest charge point (other than switching it off), if you're not paying attention, you'll miss the 75% mark. They should build an App so that owners can better manage the battery.
@@chrisvanderstock I used to set my phone and ipad on a charger over night. I no longer do this. I plug it in in the morning when I get up. By the time I shower, have coffee and breakfast the charge is up to 85 -95 % and I unplug it. I agree that there should be a max charge setting in an app or on the device. Sitting at 100% for long periods of time is the problem. I usually charge a battery and use it some before putting it away if I am not going to use the tool for a while. It is better to be sitting at 50% than 100% when not in use.
