Can't argue with your comments but we should talk about his coaching. Florida constantly made the same mistakes and never adjusted to Vegas. They tried to bully a stronger team and paid the price. He has coached over 1400 games in the NHL, he didn't adjust.
@@Scott-nj9gq Totally agree. Just mentioned that to someone else before last nights game. It was looking like we weren't playing our hockey anymore, but had switched to more bullying and...the penalties killed us. I think the first two losses, their goals were all PP goals. Vegas didn't score a 5 on 5 goal in two games but we lost anyways, in those games.
Congratulations to Paul Maurice for taking this Panthers team to the finals!!! And The Panthers Too! WHAT a playoffs it's been for them!! ( Rangers/Blackhawks Fan)
Knight’s fan here, NOT looking to troll. What a great guy. Nice that he extended kudos to the Knight’s. My team played their hearts out. Thank you Florida Panthers!!! IMO y’all had the tougher path. Just knocking out Boston was AMAZING!!! I’ve enjoyed these playoff’s more than other years. So many stories. So many teams WORTHY!!!
Congrats to your team but dude, you gotta stop placing apostrophes after nouns to make them plural. Not trying to be a grammar nazi and not trying to bust your balls.
Vegas fan here. He clearly deeply cares about what his team accomplished this year. Heartbreaking to hear the pain in his voice.I’m not really informed on his history with this team but they be best to keep him around
Great press conference. He kept going on about how great the guys in the room were all season. It doesn’t say much about the group he had in Winnipeg, when he says things like “You walk into a room like this, and you love hockey players again.” It’s pretty apparent now that Cheveldayoff needs to make wholesale changes to his group.
@@jonw7166 Exactly. There’s been rumblings about serious problems in the Jets locker room for years now. I believe it was overlooked, based on the talent being enough to trump the inexcusable lack of effort, and attitude problems displayed by some of the players at times. Even with all the underlying problems in the room, the Jets would still usually make playoffs, and even win a round, or two when they got there. The issues clearly got to Maurice at the end of his time in Winnipeg, and it only took 1 season for that group to drive Rick Bowness right off the deepend also. Remember his end of the playoff presser in that very media room in Vegas was a real doozie in itself! Cheveldayoff definitely has his work cut out for him. He’s basically looking at having to deal the entirety of his core group, outside of Josh Morrissey, Ehlers, and Connor. He will be expected to do so in a manner that keeps the Jets competitive, which won’t be an easy task.
The first change that has to be made by the Jets is showing Chevaldayoaf the door. He's had 12..Yes, you read that right: 12 seasons?!?! to build a winner and he's failed miserably. And it isn't going to get any better while he's still around.
I never saw Paul Maurice in front of the press until the Cup chase. He is truly a class act and shows an incredible yet subtle compassion for his team and their personal trials. I was a Panthers fan starting at the first round of the playoffs and in my mind, they won a lions share of the cup, just not the artifact to sit in the club house. That being said, the finale of game 4 could certainly have gone better in terms of player actions and reaction of the fans.
Class act. The players are lucky to have a coach like him. Earlier in the year when the Cats were looking like they might not make it into the playoffs I thought bringing him here was a mistake. Man was I wrong. So glad he’s our coach. Sucks to lose but can’t wait for next season.
Maurice could not do his job in Winnipeg as he had an excuse of taking this team as far as I can take them. He did ok in Florida. BOB was the one who should get the praise.
The most important thing I've learned from this year's NHL playoff series is the depth, intelligence, communication of coach Paul Maurice - what a great man - and the journey of a collective group of individuals who came together to accomplish something much greater than the sum of the parts. Exemplar group of people.

Paul and Bruce might be two of the most likable coaches. I always tune into all of the post-game interviews with Cassidy and they're great. Always insightful. It's been enjoyable listening to Paul Maurice's interviews this series and he seems like a genuinely thoughtful and caring coach.
Absolute class act. LOVE this coach and was an absolute pleasure / privilege to watch him as a coach during his press conferences and during games. I really hope he has a future in Florida / the NHL. Florida humbled us Bruins fans in round 1, and since then I've followed them throughout the playoffs with a ton of interest and hope. They almost got there, and will be a force to reckon with next year.
I’m a Vegas fan but what a class act from Maurice. His passion for the game, his role, and his team is nothing short of inspiring. Any player would be lucky to have him as a coach
Head high coach. Both coaches. Both went the journey. One side gets to win. I think Florida earned so much respect this year. Vegas I guess too. Enjoy Vegas. Well done.
This is why the Stanley cup is the hardest trophy to win in pro sports. Just hearing those ekblad injuries and he was still active. No other athletes in other pro sports would play through injuries like that. These Hockey players are tough as shit.
