What im thinking about seeing the Knights win it is all their orginal players from the 2017-2018 expansion team. It's reminding me of 2000 Baltimore Ravens. Guys like Ray Lewis and Johnathan Ogden live forever in Baltimore as guys who were foundational pieces, and a championship became part of that foundation
I agree, and I'm from Baltimore, Maryland. If it wasn't for these guys, we wouldn't even have one Super Bowl ring. They established the Ravens as a contender.
As Las Vegan born & raised I’m full of pride seeing our Knights take it all! People said for decades that pro sports team would never be dumb enough to come to Las Vegas, and that if we ever did they’d never win a championship, now here it is we already have 2 Championship pro teams! The Knights and The Aces! All those negative nay-sayers that wouldn’t give Vegas a chance, how bout a huge piece of that humble pie??!!
Yea, Martinez put in work. I also think, at least to me, seeing quick hoist the cup, even if he wasn't the lead goalie, softens the blow that was him getting traded at the deadline.
@@FlyerHockeyPride Yea. I wasn't happy when we lost him to the draft, partially because we had already gotten weakened defensively after Voynov got sent back to Russia
Greatest trophy in pro sports. The champions league trophy is pretty awesome too but the the Cup is just so unique and this tradition of lifting it on the ice by each player makes it better.
WC, CL and most association football trophy also lifted by all registered players. It is just not the main occasion like in Stanley Cup. The only different is the trophy in association football is team possession (Team, not owner), while the proof that you win the dang thing is the medal. As a Bruins fan its mixed emotions seeing Cassidy win the cup next season after being fired. Shows it wasn't coaching and comes down to how this team is put together.
Really well deserved! They made it to the finals on a incredible fashion! Great team, great players! They realized how to outmuscle the Panthers and got there!

So much respect to Bill Foley. He took a gamble (pun intended) putting an ice hockey team in the desert and look at us now. It's funny looking back at it in retrospect and hearing when all those so-called ESPN/NHL pundits claimed hockey wouldn't work here. Ignorance is bliss. Cup in six. Also, never forget when this team healed an entire city after 2017. Foley took an idea created from the very dusts of this legendary town and truly gave us something Vegas Born. Congrats to such a young team. Wish sports media would actually cover this. They say that hockey isn’t as sellable a sport, but it can’t grow if it isn’t presented to a wider audience. Sports media only covers nfl and nba. Even mlb is neglected. No wonder these sports aren’t flourishing the way they should. Media coverage is killing these other sports.

Bruce Cassidy gets fired from the Bruins in one season, and then the next season, he wins the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights. Amazing. CONGRATULATIONS, VEGAS, YOU'VE HIT THE JACKPOT!
Seeing it in person is something incredibly special...even when the wrong team lifts it. That said, in 2018 I did enjoy seeing Ovi finally get to lift the Cup and seeing T.J. Oshie have those moments with his father before he passed.
Congratulations to the six-year-old Vegas Golden Knights franchise for completing the "Six-Year Plan" of winning Lord Stanley's Cup. I didn't see Game 5 because I switched cable packages a week ago, meaning no TNT. However, I did the next best thing by coming on UA-cam to watch highlights of the game and the trophy ceremony. Great to see a new team reach greatness like this. I know this overshadows that first Finals appearance in 2018, which was a loss. But this expansion club has REALLY expanded into a champion. Kudos to everyone in the organization and the fans of Las Vegas. Now, it's on to the victory parade on the Strip.
