The part where Spike leaves to get more ice and Ed starts singing his praises and talking about how proud he is of him hits the heartstrings just right
The bottle has a great looking label for sitting on my shelf and what seems to be a great tasting rum for sitting in my glass! Looking forward to hunting this one down.
What a great episode! I'm so happy for you Spike! I can imagine this feels almost like having a baby (one that doesn't keep you up all night). Still looking forward to seeing Hamilton rums here in Europe.
So exciting, Spike! Congrats!! I was listening to an old recording of America's Top 40 with Casey Kasem the other day, and he told a story about the Bee Gees that reminds me of Ed's tactic for getting the rum into stores. When they were nobodies, the Gibbs scrapped together $200, and gave it to their friends to hit all the record stores in the city where they lived and buy their album in order to goose sales. Sure enough, the radio stations looked at the record stores' sales figures, and decided they needed to be playing the Bee Gees. And the rest is History, as they say.
Congratulations guys! I just found a bottle of this today at Owen's in Myrtle Beach. It was actually recommended by an employee named Matt at the Total Wine in MB. I was telling him that Plantation 3 Star was my favorite white rum, and he said this was better. I'm excited to make a daquiri tonight to see for myself.
Great episode Spike. I love your shirt. Ed Hamilton is an interesting guest and I would like to see him again in future episodes. Unfortunately, Hamilton Rum is a rare find in Australia and very expensive to order from the States due to high freight costs. Perhaps one day, Hamilton Rum will be available down under with the blessings of the Tiki Gods. Aloha
An original cocktail, the Caribbean Cruise Control: 4 mint leaves, lightly muddled 1 oz lime juice 1 oz watermelon juice (blend then strain fresh watermelon chunks to get juice) 1/2 oz simple syrup 1/4 oz Luxardo maraschino liqueur 2 1/2 oz oz Breezeway blend 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters 1 1/2 oz club soda Mint for garnish (don't skimp!!!) Muddle mint, shake everything except soda with crushed ice. Strain into highball. Add club soda and stir. Top with more ice and garnish with mint.
Another great show as usual. Ed is always great as well! That was nice to hear the touching words from Ed about Spike and some of his accomplishments. A few local stores carry Hamilton Rum so now the waiting game begins here in South GA...
One of the best episodes!! Ed is a rock star ⭐️!!! The Breezeway Blend I picked up at Tiki-a-Gogo is sooo delicious! Great editing Spike, it amazes me how much you put into these episodes ❤ The Cork Toss 😂 the QR Code shenanigans 😂 Congratulations again on this rum! This should sellout everywhere 🍹
Hi Spike! Today I made a Hemingway daiquiri with Breezeway rum. It is the best I’ve had. FYI, we bought out the last of your rum from K&L in Atherton. I hope more is coming.😮
Congratulations! So very well deserved, Matt. Between this and the shruken head at Golden Tiki, I think you are enshrined in tiki culture forever now. I think you just need to get Sven on the show now~! ;)
Here is my banger cocktail: The “Breezewinds” It’s pretty much a Tradewinds substituting the Apricot liqueur with Passoã (Brazilian passion fruit liqueur) and Spike’s rum for the lightly aged rum -1 oz of Hamilton Pot Stilled Black -1 oz of Spike’s -1oz of Passoã -1 oz of coconut milk (I used Coco Lopez milk not cream) you can sweeten to preferred lever, I like mine less sweet. You can also add coconut syrup if you prefer more upfront coconut flavor -1 oz of lemon juice -pinch of sel de mer Add ice and flash blend. I don’t have a cocktail blender so I just used a regular blender. Use the breeze blend glass with upturned umbrella Voila!
Congratulations Spike!!! I hit total wine in jax and they will look into it, but the folks at old town liquors in st augustine florida carries about 7 Hamilton rums and I dropped a request with them as well. I’ll be at Tiki a go go tomorrow and hope they have some bittles to purchase.
I live in Tennessee, and we haven’t had distribution yet, but I was lucky enough to find a bottle while on a business trip in California a couple weeks ago. It’s delicious! Great work Spike and Ed!
Recipe Suggestion: "Spike's Nu Punch" - a riff on a nui nui and a planters punch 1 oz fresh lime juice 1 oz vanilla syrup (smugglers cove spec) ¼ oz allspice dram 2 dashes Elemakule Tiki Bitters 3 oz Hamilton Breezeway Blend Blend with pebble ice Serve in a Collins glass Garnish with mint
First, Congrats. Second I ordered it from Chips in CA to GA and have already had it in a daquiri and a Salty Bird. It's an easily recommended purchase (already asked my local store to get it) and up there with Probitas and of course White Stash, if not better.
Congratulations on your Rum blend Matt. Question: a good while back you did a video where you talked about an old Polynesian restaurant bar in Long Beach that has long since closed. My dad said he once dated Pearl, a beautiful Hawaiian lady who was the hostess at The Tahitian in Long Beach at the pier. He said he took his boat there and docked it. I wonder if it’s the same place you talked about in your video but I can’t find the video anymore. Do you know anything about The Tahitian? Perhaps it was in San Pedro instead? I can’t find anything on the internet. My dad is 98 in a few weeks and was a WW2 vet. Thank you! I enjoy your show a lot and am learning so much. I’m especially interested in the tiki history, glass wear, decor and of course learning about ingredients and how to make drinks.
This is awesome! Now when are you getting your own mug from Tiki Farms ??? Come-on... You know you want to add it to your Merch. I know I would buy it!
So hyped! Didn't expect this so quick. Will definitely have to ask for it at my local liquor stores. Gotta admit I hate when she goes down too fast ;D drinks - I meant drinks!
Man, did I score! I bought an identical Surfboard Aloha Shirt as Ed Hamilton at a cool thrift store. It was $7.50. Now to find some Spike's Breezeway Blonde Rhum at the licquor store. Wasn't that the Surf Punks' biggest hit? '*LET'S GO DOWN TO THE LIQUOR STORE.......';*
My cocktail submission: The Sea Dog * 1 oz Spike's Breezeway Rum Blend * 1 oz pineapple juice * 1 oz orange juice * 1/2 oz lime juice * 1/2 oz blue curaçao liqueur * 1/2 oz Orgeat syrup * 2 dashes Angostura bitters * Pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry (for garnish) * Crushed ice
This is my first non-daiquiri drink I have made with the Breezway Blend. I call it.... Escape from Albino Island 1/2 oz lime 1/2.oz lemon 1/2oz ceylon cinnamon syrup 1/4 oz BG Reynolds falernum 1/4 oz BG Reynolds wild ginger syrup 1.oz white grapefruit 2.oz Hamilton Breezway blend Flash blend with pebble ice pour into a tall collins glass fill with ice top with 1/2 soda water
Hey Spike, love the show man. Discovered you a month or so again and have been binging ever since. Would this release be considered an allocated bottle? Some things are hard to get here in SC, but I have one store to go to for Hamilton’s line. Would love to have y’all’s product on my home bar.
I'm still having issues finding a bottle Jersey Shore. None of the local shops know anything about it. I contacted MS Walker out of NY " Listed as a distributor for NJ " and they said it looks like it was a discontinued product. Later I was told they had it but were not allowed to sell it till May 1st. Today I am told it's a discontinued product again. Tried explaining it was new but they could not see who it was sold to because it was an inactive item. Anybody able to point me to someone selling it in the Jersey Shore area.
My local Total Wine hasn't stocked Hamilton this year, yet. Apparently, rum, specifically, is tied more with seasonal demand/use, so they'll bring in a number of varieties they don't have through autumn and winter. Looking forward to trying this out, man.
@HootOwl513 Completely fresh out of those, unfortunately. Where I live, I'd have to take a road trip to a major city in a neighboring state if that's the scavenger hunt I have to go through to get the stuff.
The part where Spike leaves to get more ice and Ed starts singing his praises and talking about how proud he is of him hits the heartstrings just right
It was very sweet. I had no idea he was doing that. 😌
And he spoke from the heart and all the truth! Loved it. So well deserved.
"That's what she said" under his breath 🤣🤣😆😆
We really need Hamilton rum in europe!
I knooooow... :/
That first version definitely had some heat on it. He tamed the production blend just right! It's like he knows what he's doing! Congrats!
Thank you!!
Well congratulations on your very own rum Spike! I look forward to sampling it one day.
So exciting, Spike! Congrats!!

Ed and Spike: “It doesn’t suck”! “It doesn’t suck”! Well, I’m sold!!! I’ll take 12.

You never know who's going to drop into the Breezeway. A well crafted show, just missing my own drink in hand. Hoping to pick up a bottle today!
Amazing! Wow, how far you’ve come with this new chapter of your life and career. Well done, Spike!!🙌🏼
Amazing! Proud of you Spike! And of course, what a guy that Ed is!

Very cool! I really really need to figure out how to get Hamilton to distribute to Iowa!!!
I have requested the Breezeway Blend (along with False Idol 151) at Empire wine in Albany NY and was advised it is a can do.
Hey Spike, love the show man. Discovered you a month or so again and have been binging ever since. Would this release be considered an allocated bottle? Some things are hard to get here in SC, but I have one store to go to for Hamilton’s line. Would love to have y’all’s product on my home bar.
Request the Breezeway Blend from that store that carries the Hamilton stuff. They will be able to order it for you! Thanks!!
@@BreezewayCocktailHour Thanks man, will do. I’ll be sure to bug ‘em so they get it on the shelves.
Will order. BTW: just went to Trader Sam's and was lucky enough to get Kelley! Get him back on the show!
Great! Yeah, we're overdue for a Kelly appearance.
Well, this is what I'm going to start making cocktails with - if I can get my local Binny's to order. Looking forward to it!
Congrats! 💗 gonna request from K&L in my area🎉
Yay! Thank you!
Been a long train comin' -- Congrats, Spike!
Congrats! :) But how can I get my hands on one when based in Germany?
I don't know if it's possible yet. :/
I have a bottle and it’s fantastic!!
Yesss...!
If only I could get any Hamilton’s rum in Scotland.
I know... International distribution is apparently really tough to make happen.
@@BreezewayCocktailHour Must be all the illegal ingredients you lot put in your food and drink.
So I’m not sure if this has been touched upon before…where did you get that Skipper cap?!? I’ve been looking for ever for one
I got it 15-20 years ago in a surf shop in Costa Mesa. I can't find it anywhere anymore.
Use it in The Breezeway cocktail.
Congratulatiooooons!!!
Need Hamilton rum to be sold in the UK!
I knooooow... :/
Found it in Sarasota Florida ❤
Could you add the ad code to the description please.

The Bulk Fuelers won't carry Hamilton, you want the craft coctail-oriented artisan liquor store, near a college campus, if possible.
@HootOwl513 Completely fresh out of those, unfortunately. Where I live, I'd have to take a road trip to a major city in a neighboring state if that's the scavenger hunt I have to go through to get the stuff.
How could l get this in the UK manchester please.
International distribution is apparently really tough to make happen. Ed is working on it. :/
I’m in Virginia. How do I get VA ABC to carry Hamilton Rum?
I don't believe we have distribution in VA as of yet. :(
i need one of these how can i get it to nz
Aw man... We haven't figured out distribution to NZ yet. :/
@BreezewayCocktailHour while you're at it ask Ed if he can get the rest of the range here too haha thanks 😊
OK real talk now: whom do I have to lay in order for Hamilton rum to become available in Europe?
Please please please find a distributor in Europe!
We're working on it!
Ed hamilton please get your stuff to the UK 🇬🇧
ONLY for FRIEND to go HIGH
Please, I beg you, get all the versions of Hamilton rum into liquor stores in the middle Tennessee (Franklin/Cool Springs/Nashville) area!!!!!!!
I like to see a Mai Tai made with that.
Ooooh... Interesting.

Umm, 6 bottles right away please. How do I get this delicious and completely necessary tasty beverage in Australia????
