I loved that you also went goblin for this subclass. Mine couldn't read, but saw everything as pictures. So his spellbook was filled with colorful drawings that he messily copied from the wizard who use keep him as an assistant. He understood the right words made the pictures come to life and do what he wanted. Was fun getting other players to read him things so he could cast new spells
Mountain Dwarf is solid choice for Armor. With Tasha's, you can swap armor proficiencies, like instead of light & medium, you could go medium & shield. Or Heavy Armor & Shield since Dwarves' Speed isn't reduced wearing Heavy Armor. Along with weapons & tools. Plus, Stonecunning! Expertise on INT History based on stones.
