For me personally, I try to replace cards in my main deck everytime I use an expansion. That way, the deck doesn’t get bloated and we still get the wacky fun card types. I try to match cards to specific archetypes, like bury being a better skip as it acts as a defuse to whatever card you would have drawn, and so I removed skips in order to add copies of bury. Right now I play with a 110 card deck (excluding defuses and bombs) since I play with 10 players often, and we still often see an exploding kitten within the first 5ish people. Highly recommended if you’re worried about longer games as I think the deck being too big for the bombs to be a threat is my biggest issue with the game at certain points and this helps a lot.
That’s a great way to play the game! At this point there’s so many cards, it makes it easier to build your own decks. This is where the Recipe cards really come in handy. Take care and thanks for sharing!
@@gameswithdenverjames I Bought the Exploding Kittens original edition, NSFW edition, Zombie Kitchens of the Exploding Kittens official website. I am so excited to play them
Honestly I have to say this is a amazing expanstion, the fact that you can come back adds a new level of strategy to the game. Do you die without diffusing so you can come back with a lot of cards, or do you play the zombie kitten and waste it. I love how it’s themed arround the undead unlike pet expansions that is a bunch of random things. Dig deeper clairvoyance and clone are AMAZING. Attack of the dead is amazing late game, and feed the dead is great for the dead players
Yess!! I couldn’t agree more. It adds so much to the mix, especially for longtime fans. Ooooohhh, I think you might’ve just discovered a new strategy for the game! Guess at that point you just have to make sure you’re the one that they eventually revive. Lol Such a a great game!!
I’m not sure I played it standalone with 3 and my brother just kept drawing until he exploded and didn’t defuse it, then it was a 1 on 1 until one of us got another exploding kitten and was forced to defuse if not the game would be over. By then my brother came back to life and it was his turn and he drew another exploding kitten which he stayed dead again now it was forced to 1 v 1 again and I had to use my defuse and bring him back by then the deck only had 2 cards left which where 2 exploding kittens and my brother had all the cards in his hand. Felt overpowered should be other rules idk
Absolutely! It’s much easier to appreciate it on its own. As for the art, I couldn’t agree more! I really took my time looking through each of the cards. The overall design is pitch perfect. Thanks for watching and take care!

Haha I love it that you’re embracing the chaos! I myself really enjoy long-form games, but I’ve learned that it’s not for everyone. I hope you have an awesome time with the Zombie pack!
I don't even know how you can handle it. The game would turn in a total slog for me. But I love how the base works (without any expansions). When I want complexity I just go for other card games
I recently saw this in one and of all the expansion packs I missed (the recipe, the barking, the minion if that's a thing, the party pack because of availability) I think this one is a go to or if you want something simple maybe the party pack as both can be played without the other packs. I discovered this game the last 2 yrs of my college days so I have the budget then stopped buying after that, that's why I missed so much newer packs. For a 7 year old’s birthday (reads and does math at a third grade level, loves Minecraft and Pokémon) do you recommend the party pack and zombie pack or just the party pack?
I would recommend starting with the Party Pack! While Zombie Kittens is a lot of fun, it’s almost an entirely new game, with some (slightly) complicated game rules added in, at least for kids. Party Pack, on the other hand, is very easy to learn and great for larger groups! It also includes a lot of fun cards. Take care and I hope the little tyke has an awesome birthday!
I have a question. If you don't want the game to end that quickly coud you just put the discard back to the deck expect the defuse cards or i guess here the zombie kitten?
That’s a great question! Because of the Zombie Kitten’s ability to bring someone back from the dead, the rounds tend to last a bit longer than usual. That said, you could definitely create your own house rules and reuse cards from the discard pile. Take care and have an awesome day!
Thanks so much for subscribing! And I really appreciate your words. EK truly is a modern classic. I’m sure it’ll be around for years to come. And absolutely! It’s fun seeing them spin new ideas that are fun and actually work. Take care and happy viewing!
That’s a great question! The Zombie Kitten card not only diffuses an Exploding Kitten, but it also brings back one dead player of your choice, whereas the Diffuse card simply diffuses an Exploding Kitten. Take care and hopefully this helps!
Can this be combined with the "Recipes for disaster" version of the game? If so, how would you play it? Would I need to remove anything from the decks, besides the number of exploding kitten cards that goes with the number of players -1?
Zombies can definitely be combined with Recipes! What I would recommend doing is creating a custom recipe card using one of the blanks that they give you. I would be sure to include all of the Zombie-esque cards, since they’re made to compliment each other, and then add whatever cards you’d like to the mix. Hopefully this helps!

Great question! Yes, they’re the same color. I didn’t know what the case would be when I bought it, but I’m happy to say that Zombies matches the other editions.
It happened to me that I bought the third expansion and the color of the back of the cards was different from the original game and its expansions. Now i dont know how to fix it.
@@pabloeguiliorcaballero2348 I think it has to do with editions. From what I've researched there are early editions of the party pack and then it was later reprinted to match the other cards?

The way I would integrate this into the main game, would be to just add a single zombie kitten to deck, as a random chance to give a another player a “second wind” to keep playing.
That’s a really smart idea! That alone would mix up the gameplay in a super fun way, but without adding a whole other expansion to the deck. My hope is that they’ll eventually release a sort of “Recipes Redux” that’ll incorporate some of the Zombie cards. Thanks for sharing such a helpful idea!
You can definitely play with 2 players! However, you won't be able to use the Zombie Kitten card to bring anyone back from the dead. Once one of the two players explodes, the game is over. That said, you can still use the Zombie Kitten card to diffuse an Exploding Kitten card. Take care and hopefully this helps!
In a way yes! It has brand new cards that are entirely new and unique to this set. While it can be combined with any of the other versions of the game, this package can also be played on its own, making it similar to the original and party pack versions in that way. Hopefully this helps!
