    I worry alittle about the low temp solder,I haven't personally seen them fail I've only heard about them failing,great video i really get alot from them thx

      This is for a used car lot, they didn't even want the fuel trim issue diagnosed. You can usually tell who I am doing work for by the type of repairs. Customer cars I almost always use heatshrink and Solder unless it's a tight area. Car lots it's almost always heatshrink Solder connectors. I've never had one fail and I've used them on wires that were so corroded Solder would not stick.

    Wow! How did you screen record from your phone?! That's awesome! I love the thinkdiag awesome little tool

      My phone has a built in screen recorder. I also use DUrecorder on my scan tools. I try to do a lot of screen recording if I think it will help people. Sometimes I have to rush and I can't. I have to time it right with what I am doing.

      Yea, I've seen that a few times now where the look horrible then end up looking nice and I have no idea why.

      Only thing I can think of is fuel pump is wobbling and then it heats up and centers.

      @@RobertDotterer Hi, how do find the Thinkdiag works so far, is it worth purchasing?

    • @RobertDotterer
      @RobertDotterer  3 роки тому

      I really like it. It was in sale for a while for $300 with all the manufactures with 2 years or updates.

    A lower cost but still high quality option is to replace only the motor. The pump assembly comes apart fairly easily and the connectors don't have to be replaced.

      GM fuel level sensors always go bad and the cost savings versus a customer paying someone to do the job makes the price different very small. It is not worth a comeback.

    Robert saw you were in class the other night. I like that fuel pressure kit. Do you know if you can sdapt it to Honda 3.5 and 3.9 engines? I have the Honda fuel pressure gauge but of course it comes with no adapters. Anyway good video and hope to see or at least type a message to you in the next class. Excellent video and thanks for sharing.

      Thank you, what class was it? I take almost every class that is online. I also have a Facebook group for online training. I know it will connect to a 2.4 Honda, I haven't tried any other Hondas. So far every vehicle it has worked on. Only issue I had was I had to sand the 3/8 quick connect male end. It would fit into GM connections. After sanding it quick it works flawless.

      The in cylinder wave form analysis presented by Ken Neal. I believe we have two more sessions towards the end of this month. I just took two wave form analysis classes with Brandon Steckler. Unfortunately a lot of audio and video problems. Stay well pal Artie

    Does the Thinkdiag do crank position sensor relearn procedure? I've had issues on a few cars where I couldn't do the relearn. Frustrating

    • @RobertDotterer
      @RobertDotterer  4 роки тому

      It will depending on the car. You have to look in service information on how the relearn is done. ThinkDiag is just like any other high end scan tool. Some have features others do not.

    Does the 2.4 have the connector with an outer shell that has to be removed and then squeeze the green locking tabs and pull it apart? 👍

    Have the same issue same parts changed the pump battery and filter still not getting any pressure and 12 volts goes to the pump but only for a second then stops and only continues if key is set all the way to run position

    • @RobertDotterer
      @RobertDotterer  4 роки тому

      That sounds like normal operation. Is there fuel in the tank? If you jump the fuel pump, does it pump fuel?
