      also check the rubber around where the metal fuel line goes into the unit

    Yes, got 2 diesel heaters and unfortunately they both make that smell for 20 seconds when the burner starts up so yes I'm going to have to look at them when the weather warms up, can't do it at the moment because am using them in the house.
    Thankyou for the information.

    I just went through all this about an HR ago took the heater all apart changed the gaskets glow plug screen put it all back together fired it up and still the exhaust was blowing back in my space so I had my cell phone light on and did a head scratcher trying to figure out why it still smelled like exhaust low and behold the light was pointed towards the exhaust pipe and you could see the exhaust coming out various places on the pipe the whole pipe had cracks that must of developed recently I wish I would of known this before taking the heater apart

    Hi I have the same problem with my heater 🙃 only had it a couple of weeks I live in Scotland and its starting to get cold 🥶.. but I started it up the uther day and got a strong smell of diesel from it . I was a bit worried and contacted the sell on ebay to ask if I can return the unit but no reply so far ... my exsust is away from the intake and so on so think it must be a internal problem 🤔 like urself... just dont want to rip it apart till I hear from the seller.. but hey good video ma man and thanks man from Scotland cheers tam

    At 0:52 - the black rubber on the side where the fuel line goes in, I found a significant gape in that rubber where the metal fuel line was pulling it down.

      yes i did to and i wondered if that was an issue, i did put silicone around that as well

    You gettng a diesel fuel or exhaust smell. I am having an odor problem but it smells more like exhaust or something other than fuel. I was also unclear what you thought was the problem - the loose screws? Or something else.

    • @nextellcup8
      @nextellcup8  2 роки тому +1

      i was smelling exhaust from the air output but only on startup, once it settled down it was fine. the screws were definitely not as snug as they should have been. it’s totally fine now that i did that .

      YEAH, got serious fumes on start and during shutdown. Glad you posted this, thought it was the one downside to living with one of these things; now I know it's not!
      Looks like it's time to do a tear down then.
      CHEERS!

      @@ElectronicMusicUnderground Thanks. Will give it a go. Had the whole unit out of its plastic casing and there's nothing loose so the exhaust can only be the cause (I hope) Replaced the whole unit with a 2kw version which is far more user friendly in my current set-up but will be fitting the 3kw in my bus. Cheers.

    So if I just keep running the diesel heater will the plastic smell eventually go away? I’ve run it twice for about an hour each and still smell plastic, not diesel.

    • @nextellcup8
      @nextellcup8  Рік тому +1

      it’s normal for the first hr or two , did you run it on high both times? if it continues take the heater out of the housing, nothing where the spacers are between the two . wash the heater with soap and water and dry . make sure the silicone Cover around the glow plug wire is properly seated . its usually just oil from when it was Machined . hope this helps you out . thanks

      @@nextellcup8 I’m not sure if we ran it on high last time. Hubby and I are going to mess with it this weekend when it’s warm outside so we will try your tips. Thank you!

    I got a error 8 code. Sucked a air bubble. Started it back up running hot and good. The vents now smell like diesel. I’m running it on full blast hopefully clears it out. Have any idea what the problem could be?
