Will it cause the battery to go dead because sometimes when I turn my car off and still be flashing on and off

On mine it was not draining the battery, you have something running all the time, if you have a aftermarket alarm that would do it.

I do not know, I did not change mine I just resoldered it.

After you take it off the best way is to google a local company who does something like this, they are all over the place, if you can not find one write to: [e-mail] and you can ship it to him. The dealership will probable make you buy one new.
