I teared up a little when that couple and their grandchild offered a meal and entry into their home. There’s something so remarkably human and decent about how they were that I think a part of my soul recognizes and misses from a past life or something. God bless them.
8:46 .. beautiful lady. A similar thing happened to me in a Bulgarian town 20 years ago on a snowy winter night. I was lost and sick and an old lady dragged me from the train station at midnight to her soviet era apartment block. Wasn't sure what to expect but she woke her husband and son who grabbed some vodka and prepared me a meal. I stayed there 3 nights she washed all my clothes and her son got a friend who spoke basic English to translate. my hotel had closed (my lonely planet book was outdated) and I was gonna freeze at the train station. wonderful hospitality and great memories.
It really is astonishing when you talked about how the generosity of those people inviting you into their home and preparing a meal for you, how it wouldnt happen here in England. It speaks absolute volumes and its sad
@@edmundblackaddercoc8522 The people inviting him were literally refugees, you hopeless idiot. You're ten times more likely to be invited by one of those than any native British.

The man growing flowers and smoking cigarettes while he miss his country... Looks like a real life poem... And what a hospitality sense... 10/10 bald for discovering and also showing us the part of humanity that make ourselves trust other humans. ❤️💯
This video tore me up, in a good way. First of all I'd like to thank you so much for what you're doing. I'm an ex karabakh refugee myself, left Baku 25 years ago, travelled to Moscow and after 5 years went to Spain. Now I'm in Germany, but even after these extensive migrations, I still think about this place, as my home, where everything started. And my parents are just like the people you showed, hospitable and friendly. I can even remember the smell of crude oil in the air when you deboarded the plane. This channel is worth so much. Thanks Bald.
I'm from Azerbaijan. Living in Canada. Thank you for visiting my country. Thank you for all positive comments. I wish war with Armenia will be end soon and everyone will live in peace.
Just announced today Azerbaijan is getting Shusha. Maybe this old guy can move back. Sad thing is, even though he could I bet all his friends are gone, the stores are different, everything would be different.
This man travels with a frickin map, and asks people for directions, when we live in the technology era. Give this man a medal, this is what i call a true travel channel. Edit: forgot to mention: this man focuses on the most important thing in a country, that is the people. People make a country, not the government, the aspect of the cities, the economy, etc. By far best travel channel on UA-cam.
'I'm a tourist from England', I bet she doesn't hear that often. It's so interesting to see what life is like outside Baku. Anytime I've ever seen anything about Azerbaijan it's always about Baku.
I can see the emotion in your reaction after you leave peoples homes after being invited in and treated so friendly. That you are truly thankful. It is a fact “Some that have nothing, will offer everything”.
Salam from Kazakhstan! I watch your channel because I need and want study English. Today I subscribed on this channel. Sorry for my English, if wrong. Good luck!
Some here are surprised by the ride at 1:33. They don't realize that Azerbaijan is not Belarus or where ever else bald has been. Azerbaijan is an extremely wealthy oil state with lots of fancy places and things, a +100k usd car doesn't impress anyone there.
Yea, choked me up a bit. Such kindness in such a financially suppressed place. As an american, I see we have it too good here. Because we lack that humanity. Subbed.
The small humbling gesture of how you grabbed your sunglasses perched above your head and clipped it in your collar before meeting the refugee family members was such a gentleman gesture. 👏🏼
And these hospitable people were made to leave their motherlands - Garabagh! This short video shows how hospitable people we are - inviting stranger to home 🇦🇿
Finally you got there! I have been waiting for the video from Azerbaijan for a long time. If you are still there I can recommend visiting some other cities such as: Sheki, Qabala, Ismayili. There is one really interesting village there in Ismayili called Ivanovka. It is a village in the heart of Azerbaijan, inhabited by Russians who were expelled from Russia in 1840 because of their religion and thoughts. Wish you good luck and all the best!
I had to come back to this video to understand more on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts. When I watched it the first time nothing made sense but now, I understand a great deal. Many thanks.
I’m from Azerbaijan and I like the way that you show it from a completely different prespective! I am sure that most of the people who live in Baku do not have an idea how the rest of Azerbaijan is, at least not the way that you show us! Thanks 😍

The derelict (crashed?)"fighter" plane you encountered at 14:40 is actually a Sukhoi 15 interceptor. These were based in Azerbaijan in the Seventies to ward off aerial incursions from NATO's Turkey and from the Shah's pro-Western Iran. This aircraft was phased out in the mid-eighties, and was superseded by the vastly superior MiG-31, which is still in Russian service today. This is the same plane that tragically downed Korean Airlines' flight 007 on 01/09/1983. I met this bloke on Kibbutz back in 1976, who had done his compulsory military service in the Soviet Air Force in the Caucasus and was from the Tat Persian-speaking Jewish community of Azerbaijan. He was totally enamored with the "Su-Pitnatski"!
I really liked this episode more than usual, I think it was the length, and that someone invited you to their home, I feel like I haven’t seen that in a while
Well Said Mr.Bald , the people who have nothing are more generous at heart. That was great on part of this family who offered you the meal and chai. Awesome !
So what was the fighter jet guys?
it's Sukhoi Su-15. One of these that shot down couple of boeings during cold war.

SU-15
Why you don’t use the GPS to find easier Ganja town?

This guy is on a whole other level of socializing. The way he befriends strangers left and right is amazing.
I was almost crying when you left that house. What generous people. A lot to be learned from them. Money is not everything.
This channel is far better than any travel show on tv today.

The bit with the refugees was heart warming.

Those people taking Mr Bald in at that apartment complex and feeding him had me hella choked up. What awesome, good people
Occasionally, you can tell when Bald is genuinely humbled by an experience, and this seemed to be one of them.
I think that he should take that man back to at least see his homeland 1 last time maybe it might get his butt in gear to move back.
They were wonderful. Take away the focus on possessions and people are human.
Aaron Rodriguez 90% of Azerbaijani people would do that 😌
This family should be next to receive some money, let's try and raise it through the channel.
