I can’t believe the director of the Aloha concert did this to Elvis. Elvis thrived on his live audience but here he is, absolutely spent after giving us such an incredible full concert, devoid of his beloved appreciative audience, expected to give this his all.
If memory serves me correctly, the 5 songs recorded after the Aloha show were used in The U. S. Show which extended it to an hour and a half! They were later released on a Pickwick album. Thanks John. Another very nice reaction to the King!

You are right! I love listening to his recording sessions. I've listen to the Stax sessions and jungle room sessions also. You usually get to hear Elvis talking and telling the band what he wants along with the occasional joke laughter or throwing a made up version to a song before recording the real words. I love watching his rehearsals and see he's having a good time cutting up but serious about his performance of a song. I think that's why his band members and backup singers loved working with him.
Elvis was tired and exhausted after performing the concert, and was asked to record an extra 5 songs this being one of them. It was said he wasn't to pleased about it either but being the professional he was did it. I think this particular song was relating to him in some way, the dynamics of his vocal tones reflected that. I love the way he sinks deep into his bass voice and almost muffled the mic sound with his hand, imitating the sound of aircraft engine, he really was the master of lyrical interpretation, and this performance shows it. It's so sad to think that only hours later Elvis would be found very very sick in his hotel room, 1973 was a very very difficult year emotionally for him. Another great reaction video John, can a I suggest the Elvis song, We Can Make The Morning, quite a gutsy power ballad, but very underrated song of his. I think you wail be pleasantly surprised, thank you.

What a trooper Elvis was..I watched hours of him taping 5 songs right after that fantastic Aloha show. He was excruciatingly exhausted take after take all night..The Hawaiian Wedding song was so many takes Elvis finally said "Come on there has to be 1 out of them that will work " I finally turned it off. I have no idea how he did that..Much respect!!

I've always loved this song. He knows just how to get the sound he wants even performing live. If you notice how he put his hand up to the Mic in the beginning of the song, because it was a softer and low register, to make sure you could hear the words.
