If you watched Raiders. Then you’d know that the idol Belloq takes from Indiana Jones has the solid eyes with the curved corners of the mouth which is the one this specific idol was molded from

The smaller one tou have is the more accurate one, but it's based on the one Belloq holds up after the temple escape sequence. The "Hero prop" idol that sat on the pedestal had glass eyes, a more rounded mouth and finer detail etc. This version is, strangely, tough to find a replica of. Relicmaker has produced the best replica so far of the hero prop, cast from the original hero prop in bronze and plated in real 24k gold.
The Disney version is not very accurate and out of scale, especially with the strange looking base they molded in for stability.

Thanks for the review and comparison. It would be great to get information on the size of the actual movie prop as well as comparison with one. From the initial research I've done, the Disney version looks like it might be a bit too big, though I'm not sure. I agree with you about making a screen accurate version vs. just making something close, especially with all of their resources.

I'll keep that in mind. The Disney is about 8.5" tall
