I selected occupational therapy course in university in sri lanaka. In sri lanka we are the first batch OT,there're 50 students selected for this course. From your video I’m learn lots of thing. Now I’m soo happy to select this course.I’ll love that job. Thanks lot ❤️
I want to got to OT school because I've seen how impactful my emotional intelligence and extreme patience can be in the medical field. I think it would be a great career for me, but I'm so scared that I won't get in given that this field is so competitive
I am currently re-thinking my life as I just lost my job (which I loved) due to COVID-19. In these uncertain times, I am thinking about switching careers. Finding your channel has been such an inspiration, and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for posting and being so real with your audience. I feel like this could be what I was put on the planet to do, and seeing your videos gave me the push to go for it. :) (by the way, where did you do your undergrad and masters degrees?)
I've been an OT for over 20 years. Patients may be our customers, but corporate America doesn't care about our customers. Patient care isn't a priority in any setting. They care about billing and money. If you're in OT school you may want to rethink your career. You don't control what you do at work. The company controls what you do. All they care about is productivity. The majority of any working day is paperwork. I would never recommend the time or money it takes to become an OT.
Part of me is regretting my Decision of becoming a Cota. I graduated moved and got my first Job at a hand therapy clinic. They said they would train me and shortly after hired a new OT and fired me for "Not knowing enough" . My confidence is shaken. Im not sure if it was my schooling or what I just feel like i cant do this. "Vent over"
I told my advisor that I’m not good at math she said it’s okay this program doesn’t require you take one of the hard ones and it’s only 1 or 2 math class . Other ones have way more math classes
Hi Nans, @LovelyyOT, I just wanted to thank you for all your wonderful and informative videos. You have been such an inspiration to me and I have learned so much. You inspired me to pursue OT as my new career; switching from Spanish medical interpreter. I am happy to say I was just accepted into OT school and am starting this Fall. Thank you again for all you do and keep on keeping it real! 💜💪✌🤝
I've watched quite a few of your videos and you have been so helpful! I'm still pretty young but having a change of heart and would love to develop a career in healthcare, so currently I'm researching all options. You've given me so much advice and information on OT, thank you! :)
I always was relatable and help my friends with their problems usually mental problems and I wanna be a ot but the schooling I’m bad at math and science as well
Hi. I would love to become a COTA in order to help others like myself as I underwent brain surgery to remove a benign meningioma and had a stroke during the surgery. I couldn't use the left side of my body and came out of the hospital in a wheelchair and an arm sling. I didn't have an OT or a PT due to personal reasons. I brought myself up the best I could. My left side isn't 100% but am now able to work construction with my Stepdad and would love to use my endeavors to inspire others and help people the way I wasn't. I know I will be a great asset to the OT field and especially the patients. My question is, would I be rejected as a COTA due to my disability?
No it is not. There are a lot of parallels, but OT's also work with mental illnesses while pjysiotherapy has it's focus on physical illness. I worked in a psychiatry, I worked with children, dementia patients, neurology patients, orthopedical patients and people with disabilitys. I think Occupational therapy has a bigger range while physiotherapy is more focussed.
I am currently a dental assistant been that for 10 years, we are on our feet, and great at time management and taking notes, but what I truly love about the job is people! Before hand I was in customer service, and I wanted to change career. I want to be more involved with people and being that change that difference do you think this would be a good move for me?
Hi, I’m looking to apply to OT school this summer. Due to COVID-19, it’s been nearly impossible to get observation hours. Would you be open to virtual observations?? Would love to discuss this with you if possible
I am currently working as a MASSAGES therapist, it is possible i can get a job like a Occupational therapist? lot of experiences to do therapeutic exercises i know that being a OT is competent but. does it possible to become a Occupational therapist even though your a MT? thank you for the answers and more power.
This was a great video. Right now, I'm in the process of switching careers and OT is definitely at the top of my list.
Great to hear! i hope you do it :)

WOW... Impressive!! What you mentioned on the youtube is same as i feel when I work on the health-care field.
My biggest fear is the schooling. Math and science are my worst areas.
You can do it, we need you.
Naaa don't let that detour you from your dreams. You got this keep up the great work!!
Indont think OT really neeed maths in the module, I am a prospective student going for OT in glassgow Caledonia University.
Did you start school? I am the same. I hate maths and sciences
I told my advisor that I’m not good at math she said it’s okay this program doesn’t require you take one of the hard ones and it’s only 1 or 2 math class . Other ones have way more math classes
straight to the point, thank you!!

this depends on my job, ive asked before and didnt get an answer. They are still deciding
A lot of schools are waiving this requirement for the 2021 admission cycle
Great video with helpful information. Wish there wasn't so much 'omg' 😏
You can create your own video and say whatever you would like 👍 but thank you for watching
