Yeah, most of the people occupying it live there, and the businesses have been in full operation and standing in support of the action the entire time. They, in fact, have seen a major uptick in their patronage since the district was occupied. And you would know this if you cared to listen to the people on the ground and who actually live in the city.

More than 50 of the businesses there made an official lawsuit against the city because the mayor did not send in the police to stop this stupidity. The people running those businesses gave interviews about how their stores were looted, vandalized, and then they were extorted, told they have to pay a fee to the bully kids outside if they want to keep their business going.
Most of the people occupying there came from elsewhere, leave to go home to their parents and then come back the next day. The majority of say people being between the ages of 17 and 25.
All of this on video after video after video. Robbing people like you of the ability to spread lies.

There are a lot of people living there that didn't do anything.
i would've cut power and cell service. ran them out at 4am the next day.

If the police know how to deescalate situations like this then we don't need tanks and tactical nukes to stop it. I really don't know what your advocating for, do you want police to be using military grade equipment and force at the same time? Because that sounds disasterous. How long until the US has its own tiananmen square? Research already shows how swat teams and military tactics don't deter crime or protect officers.
