So how do they arrest violent people that don't want to be arrested and are trying to kill people? If a doctor in a hospital knowingly does something wrong, or makes a mistake, that ends up killing the patient should we really cut funding to the hospital or close it down in response? Or should we look at each situation on a case by case basis and take appropriate action against the individuals involved?

Anyone notice that in the more recent footage of protest “containment“ that there aren’t very many fire or emergency medical technicians? Many of the video clips appear to suggest some law-enforcement agencies and police departments are sympathetic to the protesters, leaving their communities more peaceful. What I see from the clips over the last couple of days, it looks like the protesters are becoming more peaceful, but still persistent. Yet police appear to be more tactical with more group, coordinated violence and force in this clip as they push and block protesters one way, then another. Seems like there are fewer protesters, Yet police appear to be using greater force. What is revealed to you, as we all watch different communities deal with protesters in their own variation on the police management theme? We really don’t see ourselves unless we’ve lived abroad-this civil unrest is lightweight compared to some countries. We’ve become so accustomed to living in a police state that we think this is normal and defensible. It’s not. Different police departments in different communities are getting different results. We need to study this and encourage police training, conduct, and administration to develop a culture of community first to better achieve peaceful resolutions with individuals and groups.
I think you're absolutely right. It seems that the calmer and more understanding the police are the more peaceful everyone is. The people just want to be heard. There seems to be the attitude that police are at war with the demonstrators.

Abandoning the department isn’t an act of sympathy or acknowledgement. It’s just abandonment. It’s running. Not blaming or begrudging the police for doing so. Just acknowledging the event and pointing out that your comment doesn’t really address my observations or conjectures nor offers any of your own observations about what happened after the first day or two of initial rioting or the different outcomes between protestors and police in different areas of the county. I stated, “...over the last couple days” from this clip recorded nearly a week after the riot in Minneapolis.
The rioters, looters and killers are not 'protesters', but rather depraved criminals who shall face the consequences of their actions in due time.

Even the reporters are ignorant, sad. There's a city that wants to get home or get to work. Protestors have had their message heard. You can't stay there forever, eventually you will start to impede the rights of others to go about their normal lives. That is where your right to protest can come to an end. The order to disperse will be given. If you want to get arrested in an act of "civil disobedience" it's your call, but understand that the consequences are part of the disobedience. To expect nothing, to expect a free hand to do whatever you want is senseless.

That tactic creates an enemy. Deciding on an alternative path than the one we're on is going to take discussion, something that the protestors seem to be incapable of if it isn't on social media, and the agitators clearly don't want. If this continues, the "answer" that will be chosen, won't do anything except enforce the status quo. That obviously isn't working for everybody.

"We don't know how this started". I do: protestors attacked police which were just standing there as a line doing nothing. After a " peaceful " protestor attacked an unarmed policeman they moved the policeman away but then the " peaceful " protestors attacked 4 others.
