It annoys me that people complain about this being a recolor because the kingdom figure was originally gonna be released for ss86 before they changed what kingdom would be about.
@@leviettri3576there's no such thing as "normal" plastic. The parts prone to yellowing on Cyclonus are POM and nylon for structural reasons. They can't "simply" replace that with ABS.
Genuine question - how close is his colour to the actual film? Your filming style tends toward the super bright and saturated, so I find it really hard to tell. Not a criticism, just an acknowledgement of my own colour-blindness getting in the way!
Also, my biggest criticism of this repaint is that they once again went for that super-lame fixed "chain" for the Matrix. Would it have killed them to figure out a way to give us something with a bit of motion/flexibility to it?
They cheap out. It’ll cost more money to make a certain accessory but cheap to just make a molded plastic version. You can probably find alternative chains like a hobby shop.
I definitely have plans to sell my Legacy Galvatron so I can eventually get this version of him; I just vastly prefer the SS figure’s colors. But I am going to wait for it to go on sale. My main hope now is that DNA Designs re-issues their Galvatron upgrade kit for this figure, but with an added new head sculpt.
I think they had budget cuts and are saving for other figures by doing a couple waves of rerelease and repaint. I agree with you they really should have at least done a new head and feet

Suddenly, the Matrix accessory and the two _Revenge_ ships on the original _Kingdom_ release now make more sense with this version of the mold. Which is why, since I have Coronation Starscream, I'll be getting this Galvatron so I can recreate Screamer's final moments in the 1986 movie.
If you already have the mold there is no point of getting it eh, it's good for people who wanted this figure, sure Hasbro could have upgraded it in some way but I think in 2024 next to for example commander Prime it's still works
Nice review sir! I wanted to get this figure, but I have the 2nd edition Galvatron without the gunk on him and I just custom painted his cannon to that pretty glossy orange! Took 10 minutes to custom painted, do a 2nd coat and I save me $50+! Chrome painted the chain to the Matrix, no need to get the SS86 version. I am waiting for Megatron!
The only thing you forgot was the front of the arm cannon snaps into the back of Galvatron in tank mode. Still I will pick him up if i can find him for around $25
I got the legacy figure almost 2 years ago for $26 with correct shoulders and perfect QC.This'll be at Ollie's or Ross next Christmas for $14.99 just like the Coronation Starscream was if they make very many.
At last a review of him that wasn't made with lights straight out of balkan sex dungeon. I like those colors a bit more and will grab him. Also I think SS86 Megs was teased on "commander" constructicon box.
I gotta say that you have really learned how to pull off a good dynamic pose when reviewing your figures. Not only that, but you also use multiple figures per shot, and add extra effects like blast effects. That alone sometimes sells me on a new figure to buy from your review. Note that I am still not convinced to replace my Kingdom and Selects Galvatrons with the "new" SS86 one.

Does that periwinkle blue coloration actually appear anywhere but the reformatting scene? Every other appeaance of Galvatron I cab think of only used it for the shadow color with the maion one being more like half way from that to the WFCK/LGC purple. I do like the periwinkle more overalkl and it works better to place him in the middle of a range from Sweeps and Scourge to Cyclonus and Hizarmada (withthe extremes represented by the Gen Selects G1 toy color repaints, naturally.) I do quite like the toy engineering, I got Toy Colors Galvatron as well and may yet go for the 86 version when and if he hits clearance. Straxus... I was never really into the comics, but just as a toy he does also have a siumlar appeal. He seems far less likely to end up on clearance though, nas an online exclusive with a lower production ruyn and significant comics grognard appeal, and there's a lot lioke a LOT a lot of things I'm more hyped for announced or leaked or just implied for AotP in the next few years to siphon away my toy bighet.
That is a good suggestion about the chest plate, now you'd said that I can see the lack there. I preferred when Galvatron's arms were installed wrong as the looks of the arms with a round cover in the screw hole is superior to the look with the slots showing forwards. But if you don't mind that the Packaging refresh one (no purple splatter) is a good buy too. At least he feels solid and not like he will blow away in a strong breeze. Reissues are fine if there is a reason to reissue them like every Jhaxius ever going green would be worth addressing with one that doesn't.
They even got that evil Anime glint off of the red paint on the eyes ! Amazing 👀 They really have to work with Lenord Nimoy’s family and see if they can’t get the voice rights or set up a royalty payment program to use Lenord’s voice in a transforming galvatron for the private company doing the co-lab on those robetson? Something like that

i think i'd be more receptive to this if they didn't make it a 1-1 repaint different accessories, different face sculpt even. its not a terrible release for those who don't already have galvatron, but I'm still seeing Legacy Galvatron at stores in my area. I do also wish the Decepticon Insignia was picked out with a black outline since it kinda blends in with the rest of the torso
Please take my money. I really want it really bad. I broke my ss Galvatron from age of extinction because I was transforming and the part where I had to split like the body or something it completely snapped off, which was a big pain so I will definitely pick this one up

Well, this Galvatron actually looks pretty good. I have the headmaster Galvatron personally the only studio transformer that I have is the hot Rod one and I’m looking to get the studio Optimus prime.
Since they dumped the numbering system for Studio Series, I no longer feel obligated to add the 20th repaint of what was/is a great Galvatron figure to the set, so, unless this drops in price, it's a straight pass for me
Alternate expressions are a big no for me. I hate how Skywarp and Dirge are screaming instead of a normal face. The only way that should be an options is if the faces can be swapped out. Otherwise: neutral face only
i wish they added more articulation, or increase in accuracy. 0:45 look at the cone like part in back of his head, and he seems a little bit thinner. edit 1:37 never mind, but the cone isn’t that noticeable and the treads suck.

I honestly don’t know why they didn’t put him in Studio Series in the first place instead of Kingdom, like I understand they put him in because of the WFC show that the WFC trilogy toys follows, but I feel Galvatron should have been in Studio Series along with Cyclonus so then Hasbro wouldn’t have to be lazy later on. I hate that it's a remolded repaint. Would it pain hasbro to make a more movie accurate Galvatron? I mean c'mon: some proportions are off and the chest is too much like the kingdom/legacy Galvatron for me to recognize it as the 1986 Galvatron. The feet aren't 1986 Galvatron, the purple knee spike parts are slightly too short, and you are definitely right: he needs a more movie accurate faceplate. I feel like making the kingdom/legacy design so close to the 1986 design was so they could be lazy with the figure. Minus the lack of head mobility, I say the Titans Return Galvatron figure is the best official figure in my opinion.

I Think Transformers Studio Series 86 Leader Class Galvatron Happens To Be A Perfect Piece To Add To My Transformers Studio Series 86 Collection!

I honestly don’t know why they didn’t put him in Studio Series in the first place instead of Kingdom, like I understand they put him in because of the WFC show that the WFC trilogy toys follows, but I feel Galvatron should have been in Studio Series along with Cyclonus so then Hasbro wouldn’t have to be lazy later on. I do gotta admit I do like the new paint, I used to have the Legacy version.
Lucky I didn't buy kindom or legacy version. Now I can have chance to own the most accurate paint version for Galvatron.🎉

I hate that it's a remolded repaint. Would it pain hasbro to make a more movie accurate Galvatron? I mean c'mon: some proportions are off and the chest is too much like the kingdom/legacy Galvatron for me to recognize it as the 1986 Galvatron. The feet aren't 1986 Galvatron, the purple knee spike parts are slightly too short, and you are definitely right: he needs a more movie accurate faceplate. I feel like making the kingdom/legacy design so close to the 1986 design was so they could be lazy with the figure. Minus the lack of head mobility, I say the Titans Return Galvatron figure is the best official figure in my opinion.
