Jon, very impressed with the Fender Twin Reverb tone. Not sure from the technical side why it's so hard to duplicate that amp, so many amp sims and pedals have tired just to fall short. Another great video, Cheers !
I agree! The Twin emulation sounds surprisingly convincing. The Fender cabs also sound really good. I'm not sure if I like the high-gain models that much, but they're definitely at the same level as most other modellers. Would be interesting to hear a shootout between the Trident's Twin emulation and the UAD Dream '65. Not the same amp, I know, but it's the best "Fender clean" emulation I've heard so far.
That looks like a pretty easy box to use, guess I’ll put it on my list of want to need , maybe not as easy my Boss me-80 but pretty close but it does have my favorite amps
I really like the layout of this. Its exactly what I have been looking for. I just wish with its updated dsp power that it provided simultaneous effects drives, modulation, and reverb ect. I like having a tube screamer, and fuzz, different verbs all in the same patch. Or maybe a software update will allow this. None the less, its still a great unit at an affordable price. Maybe they will update it with another version if the sells for this one are good, which I think they will be. I know look forward to getting my hands on this, so far im sold.
Great vid mate. Many months ago you had a spoiler on this pedal and I was wondering when the full review will come. 🎉 This seems to be a killer pedal. I had a MG30 which is great too.
I have the NUX MG-300 for a couple of months just to use at home for recording, and i am very happy with the use and result , and I was thinking on all the items that were still lacking on the MG-300, more separatable effects, more compressors, more switch buttons ......but seeing this new Trident is a big surprise ...it's all there ! NUX stepped up their game... Curious what the price will be...
Jon, when you referred to the Cerberus were you meaning the MG30? I'm a bit confused. The Cerberus is an analague drive and digital fx unit which is probably meant to be used with a real amp. Well that's when it sounds at it's best ! It offers 2 drive pedals, one which is a distortion and other one is an overdrive. It's not really built around the modelling concepts which the MG30 and the new Trident are.Tthe Cerberus has some cab modelling and IR facility if you want to use it, but no Amp modelling going on. Could you clear this matter up for me?
Does Trident use the same modelling architecture with MG 30? It says "newly updated" for its amp modelling. The amps sound very organic to my ears. Does that mean that only Trident (and the Amp Academy pedal perhaps?) have this newly updated modelling? Thanks in advance.
Outstanding Jon, thanks! Quick question; do you happen to have a collection of guitar songs you have recorded similar to the ones you have on this channel for sale? I'd love to buy a digital audio collection that I could listen to in my car :)
Thank you Richard! Sorry no.. the reason bring these are played over backing tracks which I purchased. I do not have copyrights got them to be released into a CD. Ok a side note.. please consider being a patron. The links are in the description✌️❤️
when you use an Actual amp, you dont need the Cab sim as most amps comes with Speaker Cabs. If you are using with a PA you will need the cab sim to simulate playing through an Amp with Speakers
Cool video😊. The unit sounds really good. What about the latency, is there "a lot"? I tried the Headrush prime and although it sounded really good, I returned it because thought that I did not like the amount of latency. It felt like it agfected the feel in a negative way...
Since you can easily turn the speaker cab off, do you think that the Trident could be played thru the power amp in on the Boss Katana? Sounds like something fun to try!
Looks interesting ! Can you stack 2 OD or you are limited to just 1? I have the NUX Might Plug Pro 3 and I can't do that there and wondering if that's possible on the Trident
Hello. Can you change what presets are in each bank? For example, if you find 3 presets you like, can you relocate them to the first bank? Thanks for the video!
Thanks a lot for your great video! One question, if you switch within a bank from a to b with an activated delay on both (a and b), does it keep the delay-parameters (especially the delay time) on both? Thanks!
Love your playing, very impressive. but, instead of doing long solos, would it be better to do shorter tiffs. So we can hear more sounds this is capable of?.
The inbuilt effect are not stereo, the software editor app is a bummer too because it removed factory patches if edited for personal tweak preferences, it is only duel mono XLR output not actual real stereo separation, it's fizzy by default and can't output any believable guitar usable standard tones unless used with a proper FRFR cab and amp supply in any serious amp replacement scenario likewise. If the software editor was stable and trustworthy it might get away with professional use, it's fun for jamming with only at present in my personal experience, there are other units costing less than can replace it with ease and with truer emulations already built in.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Try editing a patch and returning to it's original position to see if it's still on the factory preset list, it'll vanish from the previous list when altered if called up directly afterwards, the only way to re-install it to position is to reboot to factory settings again. The other points I mentioned are valid too of course.

If I had a midi pickup and controller like the behringer fcb1010, could I use that with the trident in my setup?

It should.. ✌️❤️

Watch the portion after the song.. as I run thru the settings
Does it have dotted 8th note on delay? Can you run 2 delays in the chain at once? thx
yes for 1st question...No for your 2nd✌♥
Great review! Does the sound cut out completely when switching between the A/B/C channels? Or between presets using the up/down arrows? Thanks!
If you are using different amp or effects...it will have a cut off....If you are using different amps but same delay...the trails will spill over....
Would u rate it as just an effects unit straight into the front of an amp discarding the amp settings?
No.. I wouldn’t use it like that
