He rocks. I had no idea he was 55 but he is so versatile--he can play any part. If you want to see him play another sinister role check out the episodes he did as a serial killer in the Practice (Six episodes 2000-2001. I think he's much better in Lost but his acting in the Practice was fantastic. I really wanted the idea of him and Terry O'Quinn playing hit-men living in the suburbs to pan out XD.

What role did the atombomb play? If the bomb sealed the hole, why do we need a swan station? Nope, they really lost the golden line somewhere after season3. They changed the script and everything went crazy and unexplainable. And by the ok, it is a sci-fi show, but every good sci-fi has its own explainable rules.
I was a Lost-lover, now I am a Lost-hater. After season3 (that's my opinion) they changed the script and tried to stretch the series like cheap cocaine. Originally the island was the limbo. After season3 they realized that too many people worked out the answer, then they changed the script radically and put the limbo thing into the last season. But this means every puzzle from S1 to S3 is obsolote now, for example the dharma and the button (which only makes sense with island=limbo)
