Gorgeous, eternal song. Heart-shattering. Everyone please also remember the songwriter, JAMES J. KRUEGER, who sang the tenor vocals on it and played guitar. He was Dave Mason's musical collaborator from the start until his death. Jim died at the age of 43 in 1993 of pancreatitis. A huge loss to the music world. R.I.P. and God bless you, Jim Krueger !

At 82 years old, I can look back to growing up with a lot of really great music. I was able to catch the great songs of tthe 50's, 60's and the 70's (my personal favorite) and on into the 80's & 90's building up a great set of memories. I wish we could still hear some of the great stuff that was produced back then.
Penn Station blares soft rock classics for crowd control. Heard this tune descending the escalators to board the NY/NJ transit train to Newark one freakishly warm March Sat. night just before the city started to shut down due to COVID-19. It worked! Hundreds of individuals shoulder to shoulder squeezing onto two escalators and no issues. This and other classics kept everyone calm and orderly.
I was lucky enough to see Dave and Jim k play an acoustic show in Vail Colorado 40 years ago! My girlfriend now my wife was with me and it is still one of the best I've ever seen, and I grew up in Los Angeles and saw anybody who is everybody in the seventies and the eighties! Just a great Timeless song whether it's for breakup blues or not!
I was in Kohl’s yesterday sending some stuff back to Amazon when this came on . Usually when I’m in there the music is horrific and I can’t wait to leave. Did some looking around so I could listen to, sing along with, and even throw in a few dance steps. Brought back some memories. I was out of high school when it came out. Good times! Actually now that I look up and see what year it came out I was getting out of the Army and my hub got stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. Screaming Eagles 1/503.
When this song was released I was 13 or 14 yo. Even then I loved the message and harmonies. In late 1990's /early 2000's I asked a colleague if he remembered who sung it. After finding out, I immediately bought Dave Mason's greatest hits CD. I never go long without listening to this vocal masterpiece.
When I was a kid, I loved the song. Never really understood it. Just a great song. But as I grew up, I understand. So true. We just disagree. Relationships just end. Thank you Dave.
I love this song! This is dedicated to one of the greatest loved of mine, MIKE MAXWELL! He.was in a band back in the 70's in fact 74 I met him at the famous RANCH IN GALENA, KANSAS. We went together quite a while until I moved back to Cali and when I came back in77 I went to THE RANCH where he happened to be playing that night and I remember when I walked in he kept staring at me. Didn't recognize me at first.OH YES THE BAND WAS "ECHO CLIFF' FROM TOPEKA. Anyway I wanted to get back together with him as I felt like he did with me but it was time I settled down and it wasn't right for him at the time But I will tell ya all out there he is always treated like a.lady and with respect! I always think about what could have BEEN!! Could and probably would have been wonderful! If your out there MIKE MAXWELL I STILL think about you!! Here's the song that played when we said goodbye . We Just Disagree
Heard this song for the first time last weekend - absolutely amazing melody and vocals. So unique and so cool. “There’s only you and me and we just disagree.” Simple as that!
Seen hundreds of concerts back in the day. Saw this guy back in '95 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Sunshine, ocean breeze, classic rock and roll... the only thing I don't have is a "way back machine" to return to this place and time. True what they say about the 70's music. If you did not grow up during this era where you could turn on the FM radio and hear blissful sounds like this and SO MANY MORE artists... I'm telling you, you missed the window!
When I've had a good workout and afterwards I just want to soak in a hot bath and lose myself in music, this is one of the songs that does it for me. So melodic and such great vocals!
Worked in college radio. Like to brag that I learned more about music than any other English or math. I was a 90s’ kid. I had never known that Billy Dean was just doing a cover. Big smile on my face when I was surprised by this doing the morning show. Big smile on my face, probably sang it word for word. God bless
Been away, haven't seen you in a while How've you been, have you changed your style? And do you think that we've grown up differently? Don't seem the same, seems you've lost your feel for me So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye to eye There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy There's only you and me and we just disagree Ooh ooh ooh, oh oh oh I'm goin' back to a place that's far away, how 'bout you? Have you got a place to stay? Why should I care when I'm just trying to get along We were friends and now it's the end of our love song So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye to eye There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy There's only you and me and we just disagree Ooh ooh ooh, oh oh oh So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye to eye There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy There's only you and me and we just disagree
Thanks! I like the lyrics in the comments because you can sing along while it plays! Cause you know if you leave youTube the music shuts off. Nevermind the hater he just has nothing better to do, he is probably hurting inside that is why they lash out at others.
My folks were in there 50's in the 80's ,when i was a teenager, they had so much wisdom and love in spite of the worlds BS, I am 50 now and really miss both mom and dad. They were hard on me, but I appreciate every moment of it now.
One of my favorites and it was lost until it hit my mind again when figuring out my life and suffering. Small growth to a healthy way of life. Never give up hope. Trials and pain is apart of growing. Disagree ok but stay to the commitment and find the common ground. Find the things that brought you together in the first place. Trust and love. Hope and faith. Working together.

It used to be, but then corporate radio took over the whole country and set a uniform playlist we are all sick of. I miss classic rock stations from the 80s. They all suck now.
Possibly the strongest and most memorable vocals ever for a pop song. About as close to perfect a recording as you can get.
What a beautiful song of love lost Powerful!!
Memories, think I roller skated at about 9 yrs old over and over, listening to album. Awesome. Love!!!
Loved this song for what seems like a lifetime.
This song will always remind me of my childhood in the 70's. A simpler happier time ....
My dad used to sing this around the house when he was pissed at my mom. 😄
truth....grew up in 60's actually but ALWAYS loved this song...graduated from high school in '75.....this is an iconic song from that time!
You got that right!
A time in my life when all this music was perfection! Back to younger happier times. 💜
👍💙yessss
Agreed👍 Elementary School days.
What an absolute gem of a song! Not heard it before today - it’s great uncovering these treasures from time to time 🙂
Oldie but great song!!!
Last night @ Memorial Hall in Cincy. He sounded amazing @ 76. Lots of old Traffic songs and some new tunes as well. A great performance.
My TRADER JOE's store played this over the weekend when I was there....there were SO MANY of us rocking out in the aisles....this is one of my FAVES ever!
This song cannot be covered. His voice is too perfect for it.
I love this song!!!! The 70s had some great music..wish I could go back those carefree days.. I'm all grown up now..BUT ALAS THERE'S UA-cam MUSIC♥♥❗❗❗❗
Close your eyes and dream
I appreciate your sentiment dude, but the 70s were hardly "carefree days". Said days have never existed - ever. It's purely nostalgia and a desire for the concept that makes you say that. Great song regardless.
@@the406seadonkey6 Heh ..
Have you ever noticed
When you're feeling real good
There's ALWAYS a pigeon
That'll come shit on your hood
MGB and keep us all
Genius.
Oh yes.
One of my favorites
Artist sometimes reach perfection. This is an example of same.
I totally agree, that was an incredible time for great music...epic!
Always been one of TOP favorite songs. I could listen to this on repeat forever.....
I use to play this driving home to Bayville NY after working at the club . Great song 🎶
So deep these feels
I was lucky enough to see Dave and Jim k play an acoustic show in Vail Colorado 40 years ago! My girlfriend now my wife was with me and it is still one of the best I've ever seen, and I grew up in Los Angeles and saw anybody who is everybody in the seventies and the eighties! Just a great Timeless song whether it's for breakup blues or not!
Beautiful song - love it...
We were so lucky to grow with this music such great artist my generation is so blessed this is still my favorite song I am a music freak
High school class of 72 checking in - what a time to be there and alive - takes me back! ❤ it
Beautiful voice of a man with a beautiful song.
Songwriter, Jim Krueger(R.I.P.) from Manitowoc, WI. He was gorgeous (beautiful), too!
So beautiful -- the voices, phrasing, lyrics, musicians -- pleasure for such a short time.
One Of The Best Songs Ever Written... :)
What a concept to grasp and manner to settle differences in the world we live in today. 😮
That, while great advice, requires of everybody a level of maturity we simply don't collectively possess. If only!
Billy Dean did a pretty good version
The end of our love song...
Gets me every time.
This song reminds me of every person I gave my heart to
When I was a kid, I loved the song. Never really understood it. Just a great song. But as I grew up, I understand. So true. We just disagree. Relationships just end. Thank you Dave.
I've loved this tune since the first time I heard it. Its a karaoke favorite too.
Soundtrack of my life!
What other songs would you put on that playlist?
I love this song! This is dedicated to one of the greatest loved of mine, MIKE MAXWELL! He.was in a band back in the 70's in fact 74 I met him at the famous RANCH IN GALENA, KANSAS. We went together quite a while until I moved back to Cali and when I came back in77 I went to THE RANCH where he happened to be playing that night and I remember when I walked in he kept staring at me. Didn't recognize me at first.OH YES THE BAND WAS "ECHO CLIFF' FROM TOPEKA. Anyway I wanted to get back together with him as I felt like he did with me but it was time I settled down and it wasn't right for him at the time
But I will tell ya all out there he is always treated like a.lady and with respect! I always think about what could have BEEN!! Could and probably would have been wonderful! If your out there MIKE MAXWELL I STILL think about you!! Here's the song that played when we said goodbye
. We Just Disagree
Oh and yes I still.have the poster Kenny Wendell gave me ECHO CLIFF' FROM TOPEKA.. A FINE KANSAS BAND! I'll ALWAYS and have cherished it!!
Dave Mason put out so much amazing music…thank you
This one of the most perfect songs written and performed.
Freaking love this song...hits home on alot of different ways
Heard this song for the first time last weekend - absolutely amazing melody and vocals. So unique and so cool. “There’s only you and me and we just disagree.” Simple as that!
Welcome to this classic!
Dave Mason was so Frickin Awesome back in the day 😍
Such a gorgeous song. I love his voice.
Love Dave Mason and this song.
Such a great song
Worked in college radio. Like to brag that I learned more about music than any other English or math. I was a 90s’ kid. I had never known that Billy Dean was just doing a cover. Big smile on my face when I was surprised by this doing the morning show. Big smile on my face, probably sang it word for word. God bless
I listen to this song and Paul Davis "I Go crazy" a lot. A couple of good, easy listening 70's songs.
Totally agree with you Cliff... both great musical artists... and sadly underrated!
Health, Joy and Blessings...
Maybe add Same Auld Lang Syne to your list.
Another "Feel Good" song from my early childhood. My Mom nearly wore out her 45...now I'M 45! : )
I love everything about this SONG....THE VOICE......THE GUITAR.......THE LYRICS. AWESOME LOVE STORY!!!!
I wish there was an extended version of this song. It deserves one.
The magic of this song.
It keeps you wanting more.
Good tune.🌵🤑
Been away, haven't seen you in a while
How've you been, have you changed your style?
And do you think that we've grown up differently?
Don't seem the same, seems you've lost your feel for me
So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye to eye
There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy
There's only you and me and we just disagree
Ooh ooh ooh, oh oh oh
I'm goin' back to a place that's far away, how 'bout you?
Have you got a place to stay?
Why should I care when I'm just trying to get along
We were friends and now it's the end of our love song
So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye to eye
There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy
There's only you and me and we just disagree
Ooh ooh ooh, oh oh oh
So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye to eye
There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy
There's only you and me and we just disagree
Thanks. Great song.
@Brad D Then why tf do you care if he posted this for ppl who didn't want to open another tab? You really gonna start shit on a song like this?
@@floydsimmons7174 amen Floyd .. makes you wonder why these drama queens even come on here .. lol
Thanks! I like the lyrics in the comments because you can sing along while it plays! Cause you know if you leave youTube the music shuts off. Nevermind the hater he just has nothing better to do, he is probably hurting inside that is why they lash out at others.
Thanks pal
Such a beautiful and sad song. Always chokes me up.
His entire catalogue of work is outstanding. And what an amazing 12 string player. That soulful low voice is perfect. Rock me and roll me away.
My folks were in there 50's in the 80's ,when i was a teenager, they had so much wisdom and love in spite of the worlds BS, I am 50 now and really miss both mom and dad. They were hard on me, but I appreciate every moment of it now.
This song is really beautiful. I love every part of this song.
