Hope you all enjoy this Metro video. I made a couple of speaking errors like saying Bacteria instead of Flora and the name of Serdars station (which I can’t pronounce) but I still hope you enjoyed it!

This is what sets Metro apart from other post apocalyptic games. The threats unseen and unknown add so much tension to the games. Appreciate you diving into this!

@@jay_wats_ agree. I still remember the ghost stories from the first chapter of Metro 2033. The ghost train on Sevastopolskaya, the mysterious death of the residents of Polezhaevskaya. These stories still send shivers down my spine.

I mean it's not the only franchise that does it, Fallout has a couple instances of ghosts and implications of a cthulhu-esque entity.

The most terrifying and most depressing part of the games. The ghosts forever trapped in an underground purgatory. But as terrifying and depressing as these moments are, they are also some of my favorite as they force you to slow down and see the darker side of the Metro that goes unseen as you run around the surface or tunnels battling mutants and other humans. Khan easily makes these heartbreaking moments enjoyable thanks to his commentary and how he speaks the truth about them and not the superstitions that everyone else believes them to be.

It's even more eerie in the book. Whether it's a story that Artyom hears or something that happens to him in the tonels or on the surface, they always make me uneasy.

This aspect of the setting always fascinated me. I know people find lack of information cool about these types of mysteries. But I like to know everything. So I hope maybe one day there will be like a spiritual guide to the world of Metro.

Still one of my favourite having a blast but feel coldly uncomfortable kind of games, the atmosphere and tension these games create is wonderfully terrifying

This enlightenment gave me an OC idea.
(Grim Reaper or Grave Keeper): Once a young man studying theology to become a ortodox priest, now an older man who travels around the ruins of the old world, praying and burying the bodies in the hope that this can bring a peaceful rest for them.

I am making this comment before I even watch the video but as a kid Metro and the paranormal with the inclusion of the dark ones always fascinated me as a kid and I really wish the last metro game included more of that. It’s one of the most intriguing, bits of lore never truly explained in gaming

That’s why I always loved the last mission in Exodus. It had that paranormal feeling of the previous 2.

For me the visions in the dead city of novosibirsk were fascinating in the way that they led artyom to the the institute and to the cure aswell also when miller picks artyom up he mentions that he dosen't know how he was able to find him many people have vrought up the fact that maybe the dark ones were behind the vision but i like to believe that it was the blind ones if you pay attention every vision leads you closer to a blind one from the first vision right after you see anna and go into the metro exit right at the end of the hall you see a blind one and hear him seemingly luring you in same goes for the visions outside which lead you directly to the institute and while in the institute after each vision of anna you encounter a blind one i also believe miller finding artyom was just the blind ones luring him to the institute and the luck of him seeing artyom outside but there are two points the first one is colonel Khlebnikov didn't see any visions but heard them and the stalker from the institute with the voice recording didn't mention any voices at all and my theory is just exposure artyom and miller hadn't encountered the blind ones so they were vulnerable to the telepathic attacks of the blind ones ( which obviously is way less powerful then the dark ones ) Khlebnikov while not being a seasoned stalker which frequently ventured in to the instute or the satcom was still in enough of a close proximity to experience it and get used to the effects and for his brain to adapt and nullify the attack as for the stalker he was probably a seasoned stalker that ventured into the institute a lot as by his voice recoding claiming that they have cleaned out all the storages he probably experienced the voices from afar shrugged them of as radiation helucention and his mind developed some resistance to it
I mean i could be completely wrong but just the thought of blind ones using the visions of your loved ones and the guilt you carry to lure you in to their den is chilling for me

The world building of Metro is memorable & interesting, but I was always drawn to the paranormal or mutant wildlife of the post-apocalyptic world. The supernatural elements truly got under my skin back when I played them, and still linger in my head years later. I hope you get to do a video discussing the radioactive funa of Metro & some of the more mysterious ones we hear about but never seen…Yet.

If you read the books, there are many more unexplaiable things than the games show. The creepiest that comes to mind is the red star atop the Kremlin tower on the surface. Imagine something like Saurons eye basking the surrounding are in a red glow, and it is said by Artyom that if one looks upon it for even a second, they will never be able to look away, and will die of whatever kills them first, cold, hunger, thrist, etc... it is so dangerous that not even a single mutant comes near to the square.

I have a suggestion for a video for metro, what about doing a lore video on the spiderbugs (the large insects that die when light is shined on them).
The lore on them is pretty cool with there bine a part in one of the game where you go through medieval tunnels underneath the metro that is say that when the diggers from the medieval area were singing them they found tunnels that where all ready dug down there. An we know as the player going through this area that the spiderbugs dug those tunnels. This tell us that the spiderbugs have bine around long before the metro ever existed which is very creepy and fascinating which I think would make a good video for you to make

The vortex doesn’t seem bad. In metro if you die you’ll be eternally stuck in a death cycle. The vortex just cease all of the existence of a person. To me this sounds like a peaceful escape from the metro harsh reality

    • @WiseFish
      @WiseFish  5 днів тому +4

To be fair I don’t think I explained it fully. Yes you’re fully dead but the vortex is a black hole of screaming souls. Essentially a mix of the darkness mixed with the damned souls. Think all there is left of you is just pain ultimately

Metro Awaken wasn’t quite what I expected. What I loved about Metro Redux and Exodus was the freedom to explore, seeing how people survived those harsh times, and feeling like an unstoppable soldier with that "main character shield." But in Metro Awaken, the focus shifted too much toward dramatic, horror moments, repeating them so often that they lost their impact. It became boring to the point where I don’t feel like playing any more Metro games. The series’ charm was always in the balance between exploration and storytelling, and without that, it just doesn’t feel the same.

I'm personally fine with the ghost, paranormal stuff, and flash backs. I think it's a neat touch to go along with the the rumors of the Metro. Where the those rumors or scary stories you tell the kids turn out to be true.
But the anomalies I find to be extremely stupid. It's clearly meant to be a blatant copy of STALKER. While I know that the alot of the Metro devs made STALKER, I'd rather Metro try to distance itself as far away as possible. There is to many STALKER clones/wannabes, and Metro isn't one of them it has its own identity that can't really be replicated, so trying to pull from other sources just devalues the world imo.
I also think the Dark Ones being a government experiment is pretty dumb. I would rather never gotten an explanation. Or just have them be removed/retcon
P.S. I would love a full open world MMO-ish (like 30 player sever) Metro game. PvPvE type where you can explore all of the Metro, and irradiated Moscow. Basically like Stalcraft, but in the Metro world.
