*"Batman in Nine Lives"* is in my opinion an underrated elseworlds story. It's like two parts Chinatown and one part Batman, so anyone who loves flim noir and Batman should enjoy it. Strongly recommended!

I highly recommend "World's Funnest," an Elseworlds story in which Mister Mxylplk and Bat-Mite have a magical superfight which results in the reckless destruction of a couple dozen universes. To me, it feels like an eccentric tour of DC's storied past, and seeing how characters in each era Mxy and Mite go to react to the fight is half the fun. Even better, the recent "World's Funnest" collection packaged this tale with a bunch of key appearances from our two favorite imps, including an arc from "Superman/Batman" which might be even better than the main attraction.

I like the Elseworld line. It made the best annual series. The one I like was Generations. It followed Superman and Batman's friendship through the centuries.

My sister lent me her copy of the Kingdom Come graphic novel ages ago and I've never given it back. There's something about that world, and that version of Superman I really like. Also, I just love the art of Alex Ross.
I loved the two-part Age of Wonder. Essentially, it's the Justice League at the turn of the 20th Century and Clark Kent (called The Superman) is the symbol of a growing Cyberpunk society as he fast-forward's technology ultimately leading to an atomic bomb attack in 1913! The art is a little minimalist (only the close-up characters have fully-realized faces), and the pieces don't entirely fit together -- the series really should have been much longer - but it's a pretty good interpretation of a very different JSA.
One of my all-time favorite comics is not just an Elseworlds story, but a crossover to boot. It’s “Batman/Tarzan: Claws of the Cat-Woman”. Not only does Bruce Wayne meet John Clayton, the Earl of Greystoke, but there’s cool variations of both Two-Face and Cat-Woman, too, as Batman and Tarzan trek to a lost city in Africa.

In 1994, DC's anuals were al Elseworlds stories. The best for me were 1) The Legion of Super-Heroes Annnual 5 ("The Long Road Home"), a stoy within the story set in an Oz like world, and 2) "The Super Seven", told in Adventures of Superman Annual 6 and Superboy Annual 1, that featured an Earth invaded by aliens and had some super cool renditions of Batman and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan).
When they bring the late 70's and early 80's stuff from Nick, I will get more excited. I would love to see them include every episode of 'You Can't Do That On TV'! That show is what made Nick what it is today. If it were not for it, we would not have the famous Nickelodeon Green slime and several other series might have never made it to Nick if it hadn't been a hit.

I love Gotham by Gaslight but I’m also a big fan of it’s follow up: Master of Tomorrow. Both focus on Batman the detective and I wish they’d play up that aspect of him in the movies rather than the screwed up rich kid with nice toys.

That sounds really interesting. Could also make a good Tale From the Dark Multiverse if you wanna give this story a really screwed-up ending like the Court having full, noticeable control over Gotham and setting their sights on world domination.
Two Elseworlds Series that are grossly under appreciated -- Super Seven and Legends of the Lost Earth. If they ever did a DC movie of Super Seven, they'd have to buy big rigs in bulk to hold all the cash.
I know its not technically considered else world but the story of THE DARK KNIGHTS from the negative multiverse was pretty cool..seeing those different versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman

Vampire Batman is by far the most villainous version of him. The trilogy is a literal bloodbath. Would love to see the trilogy animated.

I had an idea where Bruce Wayne’s parents, instead of dying, lived and basically instead of them being good people it turns out they’re apart of the Court Of Owls and Bruce grows up to be Talon
That sounds really interesting. Could also make a good Tale From the Dark Multiverse if you wanna give this story a really screwed-up ending like the Court having full, noticeable control over Gotham and setting their sights on world domination.

Two Elseworlds Series that are grossly under appreciated -- Super Seven and Legends of the Lost Earth. If they ever did a DC movie of Super Seven, they'd have to buy big rigs in bulk to hold all the cash.
I know its not technically considered else world but the story of THE DARK KNIGHTS from the negative multiverse was pretty cool..seeing those different versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman

Can't believe JSA The Liberty Files didn't get a mention? Not only one of the best elseworlds books, but (in my opinion) one of the best graphic novels out there. But "Bat Lantern" was on the list? Haha
