Watching this got me thinking, so I put together my own list for no reason, in no particular order. 1)Victor Zsasz: The man is a psychotic as they come, yet he never seems to get as much screen time. Maybe because he doesn't really have a "gimmick"? 2)Baby Doll: Crazy, creepy, and dangerous. Bonus points for her being more or less friends with Killer Croc, which makes sense, as they both have major and rare genetic disorders. 3)Deathstroke: While I guess the Teen Titans are more known for slapping him around, I think it'd be cool if he and Batman got into a bit more than they do. 4)Solomon Grundy: While I don't really like Batman dealing with supernatural enemies, I make an exception for this guy. The fact that he's always mumbling that rhyme is unnerving as heck too. 5)Onomatopoeia: Batman's fighting ability with Deadshot's accuracy. Nuff said really. Cool that the show Arrow is using a version of him though. 6)Lady Shiva: Completely agree with you on this one. Where the heck is she and why isn't DC using her more??? 7)KGBeast: I do remember a comic series where Robin and Black Cat fought him and they struggled immensely. Ain't called Beast for nothing. 8)Ventriliquist: Arguably the only villain that's even more insane than the Joker. The "puppet" has even tried to KILL HIM. Which is basically an indirect suicide attempt. This guy is bonkers, but super unique. 9)Mad Hatter: Definitely gets his time in the spotlight, but not as much as I think he deserves. And like the Joker, I don't think Arkham is going to cure this guy anytime soon. Like... never. 10)Clock King: A regular 9-5 Joe Shmoe, with ZERO combat training, who's able to dodge all of Batman's attacks just because he knows how long it takes for him TO THROW A PUNCH. Like, wut?? Another super unique villain that just doesn't get the spotlight enough.
Mainly because the Joker is so well known. From a business perspective, it's better to stick to something that is proven to be a draw than take a risk on something lesser known or unknown.
@@Halloweenman33 Joker is well known BECAUSE of his movie appearances. Taking a risk on what exactly? Introducing an old character? there are ways to do that without risk.
That is one of the main things that annoys me about the movies and arkham games but is also hard to blame them when the joker is so good and at this point he is just as popular as batman himself
Azrael deserves so much more attention IMO. He was sick in the Arkham games. Him and Deathstroke should definitely be up there with Batman’s greatest villains.
1.) Dracula 2.) The Arkham knight 3.) Red hood 4.) Hush 5.) Man-bat 6.) Lockup 7.) Lady Arkham 8.) The riddler 9.) The Joker 10.) Mad robot (My custom character in Lego batman 3) 11.) Owlman
Interesting factoid: Alan Grant, one of the creators of Anarky, actually recognized Alan Moore's talent early on. That may explain why Anarky was possibly inspired by V for Vendetta.

Yep, Black Mask has been appearing in Batman video games and cartoons a lot. He was also in Gotham. I like him because he's like a sane Joker. He's a multimillionaire and has his False Face Society. He was at one time Capo Dei Capi of all of Gotham as well.
Absolutely pumped that Hugo strange is #1....as well as ventriloquist, professor pig and anarky.....couldn't agree more. However...Hush and Prometheus are most definitely underrated.
I'm glad to see Hugo Strange and Owlman on this list. Owlman, simply because he's the creepiest nihilist that ever faced Bats. Even his last moment, before the planet he was on detonated, sent a chill up my spine. His own death means nothing to him. Hugo Strange should have far more going on; hell, he's the kind of mad scientist Batman deserves.
My favorite underrated Batman villain is Black Mask. He’s the perfect Mob Boss for Gotham’s Super Villain Era, taking the mantle from characters like Maroni and Falcone. His part in the “Under the Red Hood” story arc was his pinnacle storyline, and aside from the art changes in the crossover, it is one of my modern Batman tales.
He was originally gonna be in the Season of infamy DLC in Arkham Knight but sadly he was scrapped which is a darn shame. I would of defintly scrapped Mad Matter instead, Prometheus boss fight would of been awesome (Unless you were gonna fight him in a tank)
3:35 Zsasz is a pretty interesting villain, but I noticed a detail in the Arkham games. In his bio it states that: "....He has a "Special" place for Batman's Mark." , whenever he kills him (Which is Never). Most of his marks are all 5 mark groups, but the main one is on his head that has 4 marks. I don't think it takes much to figure out where he puts Batman's mark whenever he kills him.
In terms of underratedness I would say Ventriloquist is my number 1. Glad he was high up on your list. I’ve been reading some older stories like Knightfall and War Games, and I am just wondering why he isn’t used at all in today’s comics.
8:00 in the Series they had a few vague moments in which you werent entirely sure if the puppet really was just that... a puppet. Uff. tough. Another of my favorites is BabyDoll ... in TAS , she had a heartbraking episode :(
#1. Mutant gang leader. Even tho he was only used in the Dark Knight Returns. I feel that he was such a cool unique villain that they should of found a way to put him in more stories, but that's just my opinion. #2. Hugo Strange. #3. Though some people may not feel he's underrated, I do." Man Bat. #4. Bronze Tiger. #5. The Ventriloquist. #6. Lady Shiva. #7. Professor Pyg. #8. Dr. Death. #9. James Gordon Jr. #10. Prometheus.
i am so glad you included the Ventriloquist on that list. I've loved the idea of that villain ever since I saw the animated series. He is underused and a force to be reconded with! The man created a giant "Scarface" puppet to terrorize Gotham - Godzilla style. The only one i think you missed was Baby Doll. She was funny and intimidating and just plain crazy as hell! Can't wait for those two to make a comeback
Kyodai Ken - he managed to perform the "death touch" on batman, but batman had the foresight to have a metal plate in place to foil the plan. So, in hand to hand, Batman was bested
Victor Zsaz... although I was first acquainted with him in the Arkham Asylum video game, I knew he was definitely one of the more realistic sickos you could find on the streets, rather than super criminals like Ivy, Killer Croc or Joker. He is the reason why I was so frightened and disgusted at Killmonger's pock marks in Black Panther: they are a trophy, a testament to the murder and devastation he has caused. These are all severely underrated villains, so you assembled a great list.
Strange is possibly my favorite villain. His calculating demeanor makes him more threatening, and you always believe that he's earned all of his power.
My list would be 10. Firefly 9. Fish Mooney 8. Ventriloquist 7. Talia Al Ghul 6. Solomon Grundy 5. Mother and Orphan 4. Man Bat 3. Professor Pyg 2. Black Mask 1. Hush
I appreciate and agree with Hugo Strange being #1. I've been a huge fan since I was a kid and I always like it when he shows up in stuff. I think it should happen way more, considering.
God just looking at you gives me a nostalgia explosion, you were my go to comic Q and A And recently I found myself watching your videos again lately, I was so little watching you In a weird way just watching these makes me happy, happy because it reminds me of my old childhood innocence, a time before conflict and stress, for once watching your videos makes me happy, just a little happy again
Magpie, specifically from Beware the Batman. The show did a great job revamping her and gave her new life. The comics and the Lego Batman movie adopted the show's design, but I wish they also used her origin and characterization from there as well.
My personal 10 in son specific order: 1.Shiva 2.Anarky 3.KG Beast 4.clayface 5.Hush 6.Kite Man 7.Court Of Owls 8.Mad Hatter 9.Calender Man 10.Victor Zsasz
Yeah, even though he's a high B-lister, he's always underutilized. Even in The Animated Series, there's only one episode that takes him pretty seriously: Sideshow.
Not really he's had a prominent role in Batman media sense the animated series. He's just a crazy half animal serial killer so he can't be a main villain but he's still well known
Professor Hugo Strange is my favourite villain of all time. Period. He's just so unique, realistic, twisted, evil and extremely smart. He's just so cool and badass. Truly underrated and yet he is my favourite villain
Scarecrow. One of his most dangerous villains yet he never gets a spotlight. Batman begins he is a side villain and in arkham knight he was sidelined for joker after a promising main villain spotlight. Ik comics probs paint a better picture most of the time but every other media shits on him. And its unfortunate since im a scarecrow fanboy my all time fav villain.
Not saying he deserves a spot on this list but I have personally always liked Wrath (or The Wrath), basically Batman's polar opposite in terms of origin.

5.Deacon Blackfire
4.Bronze Tiger
3.Firefly
2.Mr Whisper
1.Anarky
The pyg is my absolute favorite villain. His appearance in Gotham was the best part of the show.
A very good list my man
DC likes to forget that Batman has villains other than The Joker.
#1. Mutant gang leader. Even tho he was only used in the Dark Knight Returns. I feel that he was such a cool unique villain that they should of found a way to put him in more stories, but that's just my opinion.
#2. Hugo Strange.
#3. Though some people may not feel he's underrated, I do." Man Bat.
#4. Bronze Tiger.
#5. The Ventriloquist.
#6. Lady Shiva.
#7. Professor Pyg.
#8. Dr. Death.
#9. James Gordon Jr.
#10. Prometheus.
"Kiteman, Hell Yeah!!!"
-Kiteman (Harley Quinn the Animated Series)
I'm a simple man I see Hugo Strange in thumbnail I click (my favourite batman villain btw)
i am so glad you included the Ventriloquist on that list.
I don't really consider Anarky a villain, I see him more as an anti-hero.
YES , he didnt explay him very well .
I mean, he definitely sees himself as that. I don’t know enough to agree or disagree though
1. KGBeast
2. Professor Pyg
3. Lock-Up
4. Professor Achilles Milo
5. Dollmaker
6. Crime Doctor
7. Vandal Savage
8. Deacon Blackfire
9. Dr. Hunt
10. Anarchy
Strange is possibly my favorite villain. His calculating demeanor makes him more threatening, and you always believe that he's earned all of his power.
My list would be
10. Firefly
9. Fish Mooney
8. Ventriloquist
7. Talia Al Ghul
6. Solomon Grundy
5. Mother and Orphan
4. Man Bat
3. Professor Pyg
2. Black Mask
1. Hush
gamelvr1 I'm sorry, is this your list? R these ur opinions?
gamelvr1 Ok cool glad I know what you think but can I stick with my opinion now? Thx
I wanna see Anarky as the main villain of a live action Batman film
I appreciate and agree with Hugo Strange being #1. I've been a huge fan since I was a kid and I always like it when he shows up in stuff. I think it should happen way more, considering.
Prometheus, he’s like a reversed version of batman
God just looking at you gives me a nostalgia explosion, you were my go to comic Q and A
And recently I found myself watching your videos again lately, I was so little watching you
In a weird way just watching these makes me happy, happy because it reminds me of my old childhood innocence, a time before conflict and stress, for once watching your videos makes me happy, just a little happy again
As usual, variantcomics beats school
Reel Fitness also Vsauce, matthew santaro, auraguardian, TED ED etc.
Magpie, specifically from Beware the Batman. The show did a great job revamping her and gave her new life. The comics and the Lego Batman movie adopted the show's design, but I wish they also used her origin and characterization from there as well.
I want Clayface in the DCEU. Perhaps used in Birds of Prey or add him to the Legion of Doom they're creating.
Agrees about Hugo Strange and Zaz but let me throw another name out there Ra' Al Gul . I always loved the evil geniuses and Strange and Gul both fit
Ares please make history of Spectre !!
I am waiting for it since 2016
My personal 10 in son specific order:
1.Shiva
2.Anarky
3.KG Beast
4.clayface
5.Hush
6.Kite Man
7.Court Of Owls
8.Mad Hatter
9.Calender Man
10.Victor Zsasz
I think Killer Croc is a underrated villain
Kaiden825 I don't think so. He's pretty well know among comic fans and well liked too.
Who?
Yeah, even though he's a high B-lister, he's always underutilized. Even in The Animated Series, there's only one episode that takes him pretty seriously: Sideshow.
Not really he's had a prominent role in Batman media sense the animated series. He's just a crazy half animal serial killer so he can't be a main villain but he's still well known
No he’s not
honestly he could have made this a top 25 list easily
What about King Tut. He was one of the weirdest villains by far.
Or maybe just his more successful version-Maxie Zeus
Professor Hugo Strange is my favourite villain of all time. Period. He's just so unique, realistic, twisted, evil and extremely smart. He's just so cool and badass. Truly underrated and yet he is my favourite villain
No he is not your favourite villain, your favourite villain is condiment man
What about Copperhead, Firefly or even Mothman?
Anarky is definitely a dream role for me. I see so much potential with him in a batman movie
History of the Spirit please.
Barry Bend who tf is that
He's a small time hero from star city and has teamed up with Batman on one occasion.
And ghost
Top 10 Alternate Versions Of Alfred Pennyworth.
I wonder if there is a version of Alfred as Batman
Your "As much" intros are always on point with me. I want a Blade Netflix series too. That's the only way it would work.
Not saying he deserves a spot on this list but I have personally always liked Wrath (or The Wrath), basically Batman's polar opposite in terms of origin.
He’s awesome.
I’ve not watched this channel in like 3 years and I do not know why, great content!
Joker is easily the most underrated Batman villain.
