One thing that might be helpful for you is to pair the device with your dogs name. What I did was use the syllables of my dogs name so he associated the sensation as his name to retrieve. When I was training I would pair two clicks as I was saying his name (Maxwell) so he would give me attention. This was imperative when we did long distance recall. By pairing the name it triggers the dog to come and find you to get their next command. Great video and best of luck!!!
I have loved it but to be honest I am taking Charlie through Cornerstone Gundog Academy right now. They don’t use collars but aren’t necessarily against them. I may use it again but right now it’s on the shelf.
It's been some time since this video was recorded and I have learned a ton on how to use the collar. It has been a great tool but needs to be conditioned and use in the proper way. I only use it for command that he already knows. He understands how to turn it off by following the command. For example, "place" and the collar goes on at the same time. As soon as he makes the move to place it goes off. Has worked well for us and great for recall when he gets distracted. I have learned from the best at Cornerstone Gundog Academy. www.cornerstonegundogacademy.com/a/39346/jbDqKZX3

How do you do that?
Fantastic video thank you! I’m in the exact same situation with our 4 month old golden. Researching collars now

I really like the Garmin brand for ecollars. I am dog handler for the Army and we use 550 pro garmin makes durable products.
Thank you for your service!
Do I need the collar if I’m not hunting??
If you cut the collar won’t that cut some of the antenna? Or is not in the collar
I believe you are correct. I just find it back and tick it in. Works great!
No it’s not in the collar. It’s internal
Great info, but what's wrong with your sound? The bass is all wonky and super deep. (Not my headphones, btw.)
Hey Daniel! Thanks for the comment. I don't hear what you are describing.
Can confirm there's no issue. Thanks for the video@@rootedoutdoors5314
