I'm glad to see that these devices are becoming more capable for PSP emulation. As that hardware ages it's good to have options that will be able to slip into the gap.
What I love about psp games is the focus on on the go gaming. They're so much better for pick up and play than their console equivalents (God of War, SOCOM, Battlefront, etc)
Well this is something i am absolutely interested in. Performance seems to be pretty similar to what i can get out of my raspberry pi 3b+ and that's a good thing for me. Good job on this buddy
I just found one at a pawn shop for 80 bucks . Glad i bought it. I love playing soul caliber . Awesome emulator. Dreamcast was a powerful machine . Hello from Lubbock Texas. I have a modded PSP and a Vita so im good .
yup i got emulec with marvel and street fighter arcade nintendo ds gammes all nes and snes along with genasis games and all my fav ps1 games with some dream cast favs all on 128 gb its the best
@@R1SKbreaker Same. There are some really sweet Vita games I like to replay too, like Odin Sphere, Uncharted Golden Abyss, and that one game 2d game with amazing graphics (mirumasu?) where you choose a girl or boy samurai and you have a shit ton of weapons to choose from.
@@jesusrodriguez3728 You're thinking of Muramasa, and yeah that game is great. Uncharted Golden Abyss is worth playing, but it certainly has its problems and is the weakest of the Uncharted games. I really want a handheld that can do Saturn as well, though I'll probably end up getting one when n64 and Dreamcast are pretty much 100%.
You really do have to ditch the stock firmware it comes with and replace it with something better. I'm using ArkOS and having a blast, even managed to import my Steam copy of Half-life and get it running at 60fps. Trippy playing that one on a handheld.
Great video man, it was really well paced and your camera work is clean. You forgot to mention one of this handheld's greatest strengths: GBA! I've heard this screen is absolutely perfect for it. I'm a big fan of 3D GBA games and I would love to see how this thing runs them. RP2 has been hit or miss for me.
I was also surprised to hear no mention of the screen ratio (3x2 ?), as opposed to the 4x3 screens of many previous devices, and its implications for the emulation of various consoles
I bought the RG351P a while back and I liked it so much I bought another! I'm seriously thinking about getting the RG351M too as it seems like a really solid well built device, and this is coming from someone who has a few modded PS Vitas, a modded Nintendo 3DS, a few modded PSPs, and I've got Delta running on my iPhone. When I first got the RG351P, right off the bat I just love how it felt in the hands and the build quality is top notch. I installed ArkOS on it, and it seemed like PSP and Dreamcast performance improved a bit. I really like the dual-analog sticks which makes playing games like Quake, Quake II, Quake 3 Arena, and Half-Life that much more enjoyable. It's a fantastic device.
Hey, for the GBA and Mega drive, is the performance good in the RG351P ? And does it have fast forward option, to make it faster to grind in games like pokemon ?
Makes me want to buy one though not having psp or even ds games working properly makes me still stick to my PSP experience that's not ideal, for sure, but can already play all those games. I'm going to wait for a bigger jump in performances for this kind of device and switch to it. I'm planning to mod my PSVita too that can handle better some games and consoles but it's not the perfect experience from what I can read about emulation on PSVita. Thanks for your video, great machine though, I'll follow your updates regarding these handheld retro consoles :)
Good video thanks! Im looking for a device like this. But what i never see in reviews is if these devices get any software updates that better/boost performance?
I got mine, and it didn't come with the OTG adapter, Wi-Fi dongle, or the glass screen protector. I absolutely adore the device, but that was a bummer...
These are down to like $73 on aliexpress now, fantastic deal. Since I have a SteamDeck coming I'm just going to have a dedicated SD card for emulation for that tho. Can even do ps2 and gamecube so I'm excited to mess with it
Just got mine, still trying to figure out how to use it every time I want to go to another game I have to reset the whole thing? Some games won’t allow you to pause, overall is pretty cool but it does have room for improvement
They need drop the rk3326 or any rockchip for that matter. And just use mt8183 mt8192 or unisoc t618 so that we can run android 10 or variant of emuelec 4.0
Thank you for the video, it was very helpful! I just bought a second hand RG351P and unfortunately it didn't come with the users manual so |I had a few questions I was hoping that you could answer. Can you please tell me how to exit the games and go back to the main menu? everywhere i’ve read and seen videos of, none come with the wifi dongle or anything you’re like the only one. is it necessary? what’s the purpose of it?
Nice. There's a couple of firmware updates (Arkos or 351elec) that apparently improve some of the higher end emulators so I wouldn't mind seeing your opinions of those. I think they are all on the SD card so no need to flash the device or anything like that..
@@welshmouse oh yeah, you're right, I read RG351M, haha. The RG350 has a JZ4770 cpu and the RG351 rock chip 3326. Almost no handheld under $100 (and many over 100) run n64 well. It's not really a system architecture wise that runs on lower end chipsets unfortunately
I read somewhere else that N64 runs fine on the included emulator software on 351elec and ArkOS. Anyway it blows retroid pocket out the water from what ivé seen. I'm gonna pull the trigger i think.

These handhelds are becoming tantalizingly close to Dreamcast, PSP and N64. Just a few more generations and these will be amazing handhelds.
Pretty much what I am waiting for. Until then, a hacked Vita suits me fine.
