I am 21 years old and had recurrent Cdiff 15 with many complications. I 100% understand how mentally taxing it is being in the hospital that much. Glad he is doing better and prayers for him. He’s got this. Far stronger than I could ever be

Hi from PA - Been wondering how Gage was coping. He's quite the man for getting through all of this. You are a tremendous family, strong in your faith and high on discernment. Always remember that you have a boatload of "Country Cousins" out here, pulling for all and praying hard.

You’ve got this Gage. Glad the remicade is working I started it on it then had a major reaction to it also was on humira till it stopped giving me the results they wanted I’m now on Stelara. I will be praying for Gage. I’ve had Crohn’s for 30+ yrs with numerous surgeries the last major one was in 2005 when they did the J pouch. I’ll have my family and church pray. I’ve dealt with this since I was 11 so fully understand what you are going through meds never really work for me fully I get some relief from them but never full remission.
It’s encouraging for myself and others to see your faith in God through this. May God bless you and Gage.
I can feel the pain and hardship you two have been through, having dealt with the kidney disease and heart disease my wife endured for over ten years before she passed almost three years ago. I hope and pray for complete healing for Gage. No youngster should have to go through this. God bless you all.

Years ago and in another state from where you guys live our son spent his 2nd birthday in the ICU and the nurses decorated the outside of his room. The front of his room was all glass with curtains for privacy. When we opened the curtains in the morning he saw it. I pray your son recovers quickly now. Pediatric nurses are the best.

I am continuing to pray for Gage and his recovery! Infections after surgery are no joke. The big ones we deal with in ICU are VRE, Streptococcus group A(Necrotizing fasciitis), Clostridium difficile, MRSA/VRSA, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
I'm so sorry y'all went through all that! I can't even imagine dealing with that whole ordeal for so long! But I'm so happy your son is finally doing well! Also, the Mrs. did such a great job explaining everything! Take care!

Best wishes for the future to all of you, I've had those drains in when I was a kid after a surgery went wrong they are not fun. Sounds like you got a very very tough young man made by some very tough parents at that. It looks like the situation is improving rapidly and you're all on the down hill slope. I am very glad to hear it, I came here just to check out how to stage a cat 7 tourniquet and ended up watching these. I'm just in my mid 20's I don't have a kid so I can't understand a parent's perspective but I know I could barely handle 22 minutes without skipping back and forth let alone the months yall have been just at this especially having to make all these decisions the stress had to be crippling. Be sure and look after yourselves as well all of you been through more than some could imagine. Once again best wishes to you and your family and thank you so much for the educational content and the kits you provide. I'll be recommending your kits to my riding group hopefully some donations as well yall definitely could use it.

Skinny and Mrs. Skinny you guys are rocks. With everything that you and Gage have been through and then doing a video to tell everyone how everything is going and not fall apart I applaud you. I'm glad to hear that Gage is doing better and that he is home and in his own bed. As a sub I don't mind not seeing videos when you have a family member (especially a child family member) having a medical issue. You need to focus on the on Gage. I will keep your family in my prayers and thoughts.

So glad you are are all able to be home. I understand Gage has a tremendous amount of healing ahead but i feel that your whole family has a heavy heavy load placed upon it. If possible, do a date night every so often and spend some one on one time with your daughter. When all the focus is on the welfare of one child (as it absolutely had to be) the imbalance is felt by others. I have you all covered with prayers. Blessings.

I was so hopeful that the Remicade would be good for Gage. Saddened that his condition didn’t respond to it. However, I’m optimistic that he will have an excellent quality of life with the procedure he had and the continued care he will get.
I pray the Lord continues to give you strength and protects your marriage during all this.

Sorry I'm not great at sending hopeful/helpful messages but I felt compelled to say something. I sort of just randomly stumbled across your channel and watched all the updates from around this time so I don't know the whole story, but I'm so sorry all of you had to go through this. I'm in awe of how well Gage appeared to be handling all of this in the little bit he appeared in videos. What a strong kid! He was blessed with some of the best parents possible for going through this though. I don't know how things are going now but I hope you are doing well. I'll pray for you guys.
Did you say his colon ripped while they were removing it? That alone really brings some context to how awful he must have felt. What a crappy disease (yes, pun intended 👍).

Hope Gage is doing ok. So sorry he had to go all of this.
I got diagnosed with UC at the age of 16. Ten years later and continues inflammation that was only treatable with prednisolon, I made the conscious decision to have my whole large bowl and rectum removed, bottom stitched up.
I decided against a J-pouch and wanted a permanent ileostomy. I was done with the toilet.
I'm so happy with my decision. I wish I had done it earlier.
A few years later I was able to get pregnant and delivery naturally.
No medication necessary since surgery.
I hope Gage learned to deal with his bag and he can enjoy life now. People often say "but you're too young for an ostomy!" I always reply "that's true, but I'm also too young for incontinence and nappies"
Make sure you order samples from all the companies, so Gage can figure out what works best for him. Don't waste too much time trying to make one companies bag or barrier ring work. Trail the next one. Something will work 😊
I can highly recommend the Coloplast sensura system. Their closure is very easy to clean. Easier than all those flimsy plastic ones.

Sending prayers. May I recommend a holistic approach ( perhaps you can work on building Gage's gut flora). Look up Seed probiotics. Allopathic medical does not study nutrition (can't make money off of things that cannot be patented).
OK. I told him before he needed to eat more dirt. Now that he is home he needs to add worms to his diet.
I know all that works because the frogs and birds in the yard are healthy.
