    Well, I came here for info on the Baggs DI. Left with three thoughts;
    1) Now I know more about my acoustic DI.
    2) I wish you were my grandma.
    3) If you were, I'd go to church with you and learn how to play from you!
    Thanks for the video! Have a blessed day!

    I have the same D.I. and it does run off of phantom power too. So if you plug in your XLR (on the upper LH corner 5:30) and have a phantom power source on your mixer (sound board) there is no need to use the 9 volt battery. I would still leave it in just in case there is no phantom power. The XLR is also the instrument out to the sound board if you wish and / or the 1/4 output to your amplifier.

    I love LR Baggs' products. This pedal is the honorable mention, a true pioneer into acoustic DIs. They have been around at churches for quite some time (over 2 decades). I have a Sessions DI and love it. Your sound here is fantastic.

    Thanks for the overview. It applies to so many pieces of gear. It seems like in most videos, the knob in question ends up set to taste somewhere between 10 and 2 o’clock, most often between 11 and 1.

    Great video! I wanted to let you know I found a 9V adapter so I can plug it into the wall. The adapter just attaches like the battery would and then plugs into the wall adapter. I was interested in presets so I'm going to yours :)

      Depending on the guitar listen for that low and high end and make adjustments. I have o e guitar that puts out too much bass so I tend to lower the bass when I play it. I also have found that most acoustics need the high end toned down. Have fun❤️

    Thank you Cindy! I LOVE all you do, what is the advantage of having a pedal compared to having an amp and your guitar pickup forming the sound you would like? Or could you just use the pedal with its settings and plug directly into the PA system? Just curious....with all the new technologies.....

    This is the area that I know NOTHING about but want to learn!!! I have such incredible respect for sound people! They are often overlooked, abused and under appreciated IMHO!!!😮 thank you for doing this video! I have nothing in the way of any pedals and I’m not sure what to start with? Right now it’s just me, my guitar and my voice either with my own Fischer amp or the church PA system. What would you suggest? Or is there a resource site I can look at to learn?Is also like to get a looper pedal so I could play with my own loops in order to add more complexity to my sets ! Thank you so much Cindy!

    • @guitarnotions
      @guitarnotions  4 місяці тому +1

      I think first.. are you happy with the sound right now? If it works great. If not, what is not working. If the acoustic guitar does not sound consider a pedal like LR baggs venue or Fishman Platinum Pro EQ/DI. Note Fishman make a simple model Fishman Platinum Stage. (Start small is probably best)
      Your voice mic direct to PA should sound great if you have a decent vocal microphone. Hope this helps❤️

    Hi, question if you please. I use aGibson 45 w ll baggs vtc that came in it. I get a very boomy D string when I fingerpick over church PA- it drives me crazy! Could I fix this with this unit? How? I just bought this unit, i run to house pa board thru a regular di box the pa system is set flat. We do not have a sound guy.our choir director is that along w every things else... so the main system is set flat. Basically we can control volumes on mics, guitar -and on/off with a control screen next to organ piano. So u see I need to be able to fix this boomy string thing myself and I wanted to try a SIMPLE Box like this to improve my guitar tone. Ty, love ur manner and style.

    • @guitarnotions
      @guitarnotions  День тому

      Unfortunately, there isn’t just one answer. And it needs to be looked at through different angles. Play the guitar through a personal amplifier. Does the same problem occur? Other thoughts: 1. is there debris or something underneath piezo in the saddle slot. 2. is the saddle sanded even where it’s sitting on the piezo. 3. is the slot for the saddle even? if something is not flat this could cause increased tension and create uneven and sometimes absent tones . The other thought is is there’s something wrong with the piezo itself and it needs to be changed out. If it is faulty consider having a luthier install the LR Baggs HiFi pickup. I’m also wondering what happens if you mic the guitar rather than play it through the lr baggs. Hope this helps. God Bless!

    • @guitarnotions
      @guitarnotions  День тому

      @ without seeing it’s so hard to say. But if you can play it clean through a different amp that help eliminate the guitar as a problem. If that’s a new guitar and you narrow it to a problem with the guitar take it back to the manufacturer 😀

    I once had racks of gear, and a mess of cables and wires. Now i just use an original Yamaha AG stomp pedal. It has a tuner, pre amp and mic type simulation, a great acoustic voiced e.q., blend, presents, rev, delay, chorus, a limiter. Output, level, volume. I got it for 400.00, twenty years ago. I love it. It has feedback controls, but i use common sense, old school methods. Feedback controls cut frequencies out, and rob your tone. The main thing is getting rid of that under saddle piezoelectric pickup. I spent 5 years and a ton of money, trying everything to bury that harsh quacky sound. I no longer own anything with that type of pickup. The KnK mini passive pickup is great for me. No battery, no hole in my guitar. Why have a floor preamp, going to a guitar preamp, into another preamp attatched to a speaker?

    • @guitarnotions
      @guitarnotions  4 місяці тому +2

      Amplifying an acoustic signal is definitely an art in itself. That sounds like a really nice pedal. The guitar I am using has the lr baggs hi-fi. System in it. It is not a piezo. I really like the pickup. Its an active pick and has sensors that dit in the bridgeplate similar to the k&k. It is so true you can spend a lot of money looking for that sound 😀 thanks for sharing and listening in❤️

      I have found both sound good. But, I think you have more options to adjust with separate pedals. Also if you have a sound man and its going out to a PA you may want to add the effects prior to the Pa system. When I am at home, for the most part, I use the effects on the amp only. Thanks😀
