The most underrated, under appreciated band in Rock/Hard Rock etc... Amazing band and awesome synchronization. Love their sound-style all of it. Greatest musicians who deserved better. As long as there’s fans there will always be The Cult music passed down to each generation. Let’s keep that going ♥️ 🎸 🎤 🎵 🔥 🌟 🎶 🕯 ✨ ☘️ 🆒
Totally agree... Underrated like no one...
💯👍🎼🍻🎛
Amen to that!
Yeah right.
Fully completely with ya on this.
Seen m in 86 when they started up. I live in the south of the Netherlands and we've got the oldest each year returning pop - rock festival .
It's in the guineas book.of records
PINKPOP
Well thing is the chief of the fest gotten famous about that concept if him.
Asking Bands later on, in their carrier to come and play again.
1991 THE CULT as finishing act never ever gonna forget that live gig.
Forgot the singers name.
Well it wasn't that he had a tempor.
Or being in a bad mood on the contrary.
He was fucking wild.
This cult gì went into the statistics of Pinkpop lime the fuck here and fuck there gig
Each third word he s been using was fuck fuck off and he didn't wanna stop 1 a.m is tops.
So the concert chief Jan Smeets
Pulled the plug on.them., lol him this went on for another half an hour chief.pulling it out the singer back plugging it in again woah heavy and heavy in ways.
I heard two of the loudest gigs ever
Mostly finishing acts.
But.well THE CULT 91 WAS ONE . PINKPOP MOVED MORE SOUTH IN 87 AFTER 17 YEARS HERE IN GELEEN
THEY NEEDED TO NO ROOOM LEFTGOTTRN BIGGER AND BIGGER
HOWEVER NOE THEY ARE ON SN OLD HORSE RACETRACK
800 METERS MINIMUM.
IT WAS AT THE END SO F... HARD THE SOUND NEEDED TO MOVE TILL THE END OF THE TRACK AND STILL BLASTI G HARD
THE OTHER TE WAS IN BELGIUM
ROCK WERCHTER
THIRD LAST CLOSING BAND AND IMSGING STONG AFTER THIS GIG
THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
CAME IN TOO LATE HUNDRED THOUSENDS IN FRONT OF ME GETTINNG DARK
ALSO NRVER FORGET AS WELL 91 IN THE BEGINNING YEARS WITH THEIR DISTINGUISHED SOCK ACT TOTALLY NACKED ONLY WEARING S SOCK ON THEIR PROVATE PSRTS AND AGAIN THE BELGIUM PEOPLE ARE SO RELAXT THEY TURNED THE VOLUME UP
I WAS SHACKING ON FLEAS BASS.
ON THE END OF THE FIELD AMAZING AND THEY FINISHED ON THREE HENDRIX SONG THESE WERE THE WILDEST HARDEST GIGS I EVER SAW AND HEARD
LOVE AND LIGHT
Группа уникальная. Шедевральная.
Beside his singing ability, the way he moved, danced and stage presence made Ian an absolutely fantastic frontman
He had incredible footwork.
totally agree
And the most beautiful hair in recorded human history.
beside his singing ability, the way he moves, dances and stage presence makes Ian an absolutely fantastic frontman - corrected it to the present tense, still going strong, gigging and new material, sounding awesome as ever
@@Duhzy they got new music ????
At their peak, this band could match anyone. They were just AWESOME. Yet so underrated.
They overshadowed everyone NOW,check out the World Tour, fantastic!!
This word...underrated...it is becoming a tad overused tbh! They are not in any way underrated by those who love their music. I certainly don't believe they are underrated! Maybe by the music press but Ian or Billy never really cared about what the media thought anyways. They were slated for nearly every album they released since their Love album. Who cares what the music media think, we, their benefactors know how good they are and that's all that matters ❤❤🖤🖤🤘✌CFFC✌🤘🖤🖤❤❤
true!
At their peak NO ONE could match the Cult! Very few still can! They are still recording, still releasing albums and still performing! The Cult are as relevant now as they ever were! Yeah they released a couple of ok albums but their music is still unique, Ian's voice is as strong and amazing as ever and he's looking better than ever! No they are NOT underrated (this word is far too overused and frankly needs to be ditched and torn from the music dictionary! It also annoys me when people say the Cult are underrated! They were NEVER EVER underrated by the people who bought their records!)
Billy duffy and Ian astbury...100 × 100 rock n roll
I was born well after this song came out and didn't discover it until high school, but it is my favorite, hands down.
THIS is ROCK N ROLL Kids.
Yes! Two Canines.......Our job is to pass the message on to “The Kids;” what is music 🎶 and what is not. I’ll leave on this note for “The Kids.” If y’all have seriously not heard of Iggy Pop & The Stooges........Then move it!! Order, say, “Fun House.” TODAY!!! Mistress Bex 💋 xxxxxoooooxxoo xoxoxoxoxo
En estado puro !!!!
Fuck yeah it is🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lame deer might be lame but is still here
@@rebeccarail3637 Cue up Rory Gallagher "Follow Me" and then start hunting for the MC5 the New York Dolls the Ramones ....
Every The Cult video tells you each and every second the same story: these guys really love to be in a Rock'n Roll band and it shows. I just can't get enough of it!
One of the greatest songs by The Cult......Ceremony is a very underrated album
I Wasn't even aware of this album. Great Music!
My son stole my album😮
Holy shit,Ian Astbury is what dreams are made of.....
At 56, I should know better at my age but it's 2024 and my neighbours are learning about the genius that the is The Cult.
I'm 56 too, been listening to them since 1987! Arizona!
Keep it loud it's sexy Ion the Cult
Me to Brother I'm 58 and I'm definitely with ya!!!
I'm a fan and made the neighbors fans as well, They had no choice...!!!
Hey gramps 2007 called and want their shitty comment back
He's quie gifted😅
wow, what a frontman ! ! ! awsome !
Excellent song, great fiery passion here. Always loved this one.
Heart n Soul every time - the CULT baby !!!
Great voice, great attitude, great music. THE CULT
His voice is really beautiful.
Billy Duffy is so underrated, superb guitarrist
So many people say he's underrated that I wonder who rates him low. He's one of the best. Steve Vai is brilliant, but I find that stuff soulless. The best songs don't have two million notes.
@@wildflower514 The thing is nobody even rates him. I find that very unfair
Probably one of the most underrated bands of all time! The solo during Edie is without doubt THE Greatest guitar solo of all time. One minute and one second of pure perfection.
@@quinner126 We saw it live up close.
HE IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ian was a mystical rock God. Has it all that guy. So much energy and can he shake it. How anyone can pull off wearing that coat is staggering. Phenomenal their concerts in the 80s. Magical band😵🤗
Absolutely 💯
This song is one of my favorites from The Cult. It's supposed to be listen LOUD. Very, very LOUD
The volume knob on my computer is almost all the way up with the headphones on jamming it and dreaming of dancing while listening.
MINE 2! BAD ASS!
"If it is too loud, you are too old." Stiv Bators, LotNC
@@marieskavo7159 Im 63 and it will never be too loud!
@@dennisadams5855 Huh?
The Cult are without doubt untouchable, Billy’s guitar is fantastic, Ian’s vocals are untouchable
This fucking song is just insane.. kicks ass start to finish...still sounds relevant too... fuck...how can a song this old sound this fresh 😮
listen boys...real man music
This band is so damn good it’s sick. Ian at his best. So talented and good looking.
I have loved The Cult for almost 40 years and I think it will be forever. Long live THE CULT
Ian came to our shows prior to making this album ....great guy...our dance co. was called the American Indian Dance Theater...so proud
That is interesting, are you still involved with that or something similar?
They need 2 make a movie to show what really happened in the 1800s, & use this as the theme song, so so Powerful!!
@@JonathanRingo no not right now. The dance theater hasn't toured for about 10 yrs ever since our producer passed away from breast cancer
That is super cool!!
Usa anda canadian indians
Anthem to those who died fighting injustice...long live THE CULT!
Ian Astbury one of the best lead men of the 80’s / 90’s
And NOW,check out current World Tour, his voice as powerful as ever!!
He's still on the top of his game. Unbelievable.
@@karljanus8308 he certainly is,very fit again, lost weight and honestly I think his voice is better, matured
@@karljanus8308 Not really. He is terrible live. Recordings are decent.
There was a legion of fantastic lead men..lead guitarists, drummers and...well, they did have bass players.. They were THERE.. Moving on!
Ian was a great frontman, rock singer. So was Sebastian Bach. So was Ed Ved.
We were blessed.
Incredible music video. Ian Astbury is so sizzling hot rockstar, those moves, he is the wildest and sexiest rockstar ever. The whole band is magnetic.
The dance....the hair...gorgeous!!!
Poor people who don't know about the Cult they're missing out, amazing song and amazing band
Not bad,we get more for us❤️
Damn!! Hot as Hell!! I could watch this video every day for the rest of my life and still love every second of it! This song still kicks ass and nobody else could do it better than these guys. They totally rocked this and showed everybody what being badass was all about. The Cult forever!!!
Pure talent.
Talent that you can never stop listening to
im a wild hearted son. love this band and their music.
brent bentley Love your profile picture.
I'm Catawba/Cherokee and they've always appealed to me

Ojibwe Here from Northern Ontario,Canada. I do love the nod to our Pow Wows.
yaqui from sonora, mexico, and ive felt the connection as well. different tribes, same family
Funny thing is Ian Astbury is looking like an Native American Indian but is pure English.... Btw I.m Aussie hahaa 💖
Their are just amazing ! For me, it is top of Rock ! Lyrics like poesy and great full blasting and creativ sound ! God bless !
No matter what kind of a day I'm having, all I have to do is crank this...... and before you know it, the world is right again LOL! Billy's guitars, and just SEEING Ian makes me smile...musically, there are no words. WOW
I'm in total agreement with you.
Kat Martin2016 so true.
The Cult are my go to, feel good band.
Have been for years 😁👍
DITTO!!!
God bless the cult
Never checked The Cult's music before except for She sells sanctuary which I really liked.
Lucybaby666- Welcome to The Cult!🔥💥💯🥰
Keeping it real. Need more of front men like this performer. Another underrated artist. You truly rock.
Their videos are so well directed. If nobody can tell me who did their vids I'm gonna have to do it myself, and I'm very, very lazy.
Just saw them play the entire Sonic Temple album. Epic.
TheStones1965- Is that true? Would love it if they played the entire Ceremony album!🔥🥰🙏💯
Jaykee the Wolf: we have seen them not once, but twice at House of Blues, Houston, Texas.
Luis: Long Live Rock & Roll! Amazing!!
@@MochaMela The perks of living in one of the few cities The Cult finds worthy of for a tour. They do not come to Columbus Ohio. And the one time they did I simply couldn't go.
their songs sound more heavy than some ,,metal,, group , i mean u hear and fell power in sound )))
Wild hearted son
Baby, the world didn't want me to run
To try and break me down to my knees, yeah
Wild hearted, yeah yeah
Yeah
Well now
You know, I shoot from the hip now
My fist raised in the air
I'm a whirlwind dreamer, baby
With my head high in the clouds, yeah
Ow, don't take me too lightly
I got the blues power, baby
I'm just a breed of society
I'm pushin' hard and stealin' free
Don't you try to lay no trip on me, yeah
I'm a wild hearted son
I'm comin' down like a rolling stone
Wild hearted son, yeah
I'm a wild hearted son
Hey mama, the world didn't want me to run
Wild hearted son
Ow, I was born to the city
But I longed to roam free
Got a screaming horse in my belly
Scar on my heart
I live outside of convention
You know the people who stare
I'm just a breed of society
I'm pushin' hard and I'm stealin' free
Don't try to lay no trip on me, whoa
'Cause I'm a wild hearted son
I'm comin' down like a rolling stone, yeah
Wild hearted son
I'm a wild hearted son
Lil' honey, the world didn't want me to run, yeah
Wild hearted son
Baby, baby, yeah yeah
Wild hearted son, yeah
The world didn't want me to run
Try to break me down, down down down down
I'm a wild hearted son
I'm comin' down like a rolling stone, oh yeah
Wild hearted son
I'm a wild hearted son
Lil' honey, the world didn't want me to run
Wild hearted son, son, baby, yeah
Oh oh
Ian Astbury is such an EXCELLENT singer!!!
If your neighbors aren't complaining, then you aren't playing this right.
rock n roll at its finest wow
On my gosh what a fantastic song!! Ian is so multitalented. Gorgeous, perfect voice and I love his dancing moves. Billy is outstanding as well!!
But its a very racist video. Should be taken off UA-cam and have audio only.
What utter bollocks.. Astbury grew up around Native American Indians.. it's a passion for him, not some cheap cultural appropriation stunt.@@stallionstudios
Excellent, starts quiet then explodes into heavy rock. I did read somewhere the native American girl on the front of the Ceremony album claimed her picture was used without her permission and felt she was due some moneys from album sales. I never heard the outcome to this story, has anyone else ??
I wanna go back to the 80`s. Bored and sick of this present days.
Call Al Bielek.
Ian Astbury always had cool moves. Great song. You can hear 'Sonic Temple' remnants in this recording.
Hmm I see where axl rose got his moves from lol
And from Davy Jones.
In some ways he's the most underrated lead singer (frontman) in the history of rock. This guy is a bad ass boss.
@mike f the band in general is highly underrated. Ian’s such a great vocalist and lyricist, Duffy kills on guitar, Jamie stewart kicking ass on bass, plus Les Warner AND Matt sorum on drums? Get outta town...
Unfortunately, this was about the only song that resembled the sound of Sonic Temple album.Ceremony was not a good album to follow up their biggest selling album. They could have been huge for a while, but this album killed it for them. This song however, is excellent and the band look and sound in top form.
Astbury’s footwork is second to none
Sweeps the floor and scours it 😂
interesting that in some way an english band made us feel pride in our native heritage, if it wasnt already there,it is now.yaqui pride, sonora, mexico.
Ian was born in England and raised on a 6 Nation reservation in Canada ....he has .uch honor love and respect for the Native spirit....listen to the dreamtume album !!
Ian Lived in Canada as a young teenager. Hamilton ON. He hung out with the native boyz there. Loved it and admired them.
@Jack D'Ripa So five of his most formative years then.
Your native heritage is yours and only yours. Feel proud. Your are awesome. Period.
Everyone needs a little bit of The Cult in their lives! What a seriously underrated rock band they are. Ian Astbury such a great singer and Billy Duffy brilliant guitarist
This song is wonderful.. THE CULT's slippery snakeskin is incredible. It's a powerful band. Ian's voice is unmistakable. I met them with LOVE and their mutation is followed to date. I love them......
I remember when this came out, I was like 14-15 and it blasted my brains out when I first heard the album!
Who came here to see handsome Ian ?😊
How can anyone be this cool. Now that is a front man for a band!
The best song ever
This came out in 1991, 2 years after Fire Woman on the Sonic Temple LO
Non ci sono parole , per me sono grandi
1hundred million they kickass in studio and live!!! I seen them open for metallica in Dallas in 1987 or around there and they outrocked the and justice for all show. They knocked the fkkn lid off of the old coca cola starplex!!! People all wanted an encore!!! Ian Astbury kicks ass!!!
Ian Astbury is a fine example of a front man with rhythm and soul!
Perfect!! Everything is perfect!! What a voice, what a song.....what a man!!!
He reminds me, of me!
I bought this album on a whim back in the 90s and I was not disappointed. To bad the rest of the world was not ready for a metal album infused with native american themes and sound samples.
Damn what a raw driving rock band; reaches in and shakes you. Send this video to all the pretend musicians of today; show them what true talent is. Long live the Cult, rock on.
Pretty bad ass if your 17 in 1991. Even more at 48.
Still have the cassette
But its a very racist video. Should be taken off UA-cam and have audio only.
@@stallionstudiosas a native American, no. This is my theme. Let us own this. 🎉
Im 51 and am still rocking the cult every day!!!
Astbury is so damn talented. I`d watch him sing the alphabet. And he has always had a spot for the Indian Tribes of this nation. Would love to talk to him sometime....xxoo
The Cult were, are, and will remain musically immense for the rest of their lives. Many thanks to them.
Rock powerhouse!
What a handsome man!!! It makes me fall in love
such a fucking great band #1,Ian a wizard
I love The Cult, I remember when Sonic Temple came out, just a killer album, as are many from them, being Cherokee Indian, this is so close to me, so true, Wild Hearted Son!❤
Thanks 4 your music
This guy can wear a chic's coat and still manage to look cool as hell!!
Haha you're so right!
looks like vampire apparel
looks like vampire apparel
i am looking for that kind of coat for a long time
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Saudades desta fabulosa banda!!! Que marcou muito da minha paixao pela musica!!!
Ian is in top ten of best front man. This dude got some moves. On she sells sanctuary video I probably saw about a dozen times on his foot work he does on intro.
He can spin and throw a mic stand like a badass too. He was pretty damn crazy in those days.
To find Ian,, Look up Badass Front man and
Ha ha ha, what a great story, Ian!
What does that mean?
God I miss the late 80's/early 90's! My early 20's and some of the best times of my life!!! Too young to have any baggage yet!
A rather forgotten by radio great hit by them!
Brian Sauer
My sentiments exactly.... Too young to know better also.. miss the 80s & 90s. Hitting 50 yrs old next month WTF man..
Irish Mule69- I hit 50 two months ago, and yeah, it’s like wtf happened! You start having thoughts like “Well, there’s probably less time in front of me than there is behind me”, and “Is my life where I want it to be at this point?”. Anyway, think I’ll crank up Ceremony, one of their best albums but hugely underrated...
Yes!! So true...
Agree best times of my life aunt even close
Super...!!! Mega!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw these guys. Major bucket list. 2008 in Toronto. Maybe 800 people. I was very disappointed this band is huge to me.
❤you are not kidding and I have a funny story the song 🎉Firewoman was my wedding song, no little love song for me it had to be that one I will forever love this band forever into my heart.
The cult é muito bom!!!😁😁😁
Wilde hearted yeahhhh
Why can't I have hair like these guys - the music isn't the only thing here with epic volume !
How true.
Awesome ❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼❤️
This song just rocks. Love Ian and Billy.
Wow...
Saw them in Tulsa a couple of months ago. So 1991, 2001 and 2016. If I win the lottery, my first expenditure after taxes will be to hire The Cult for a concert or 12 :-)
lol Invite me pls
Awesome Band!
Here 2024 🎉fan since 1990 🤘still awesome
Ian is so beautiful and cool❤️
Ian Astbury is like the coolest front man for any band!!
And Billy Duffy is by far the coolest guitarist on the planet.
Fucking playback. 😎
He was a damn good replacement for Jim Morrison so..
BEST HAIR EVER !!!!
The Cult ... my first tattoo ^^
The Ian Astbury shuffle ! Superb video in every way, but no clips of the bass player. Still in love with The Cult😍
My fav era of Ian...long hair, horse stomping moves, attitude.
Seen em 4 or 5 times...every bit as good as any top 80s band.
I absolutely agree!!
Wild stallion couldn’t be tamed. 😊
I think this is legitimately one of the hottest looks a man has ever had in human history. If you passed him on the street in that getup, you would have sworn that Dracula himself is real and still ruling the night, one club at a time. No joke, I went 3 years of college not cutting my hair in the hopes I could get it this long, and I never could.
I straight-up love this man. Ian thinks the term rock star has been watered down from overuse, and that it's meaningless now... but he is the best of everything the words once meant. He is the true testosterone firing up all that estrogen, waist-down engaging, soul reaching, fucking man on the music stage both then and now. My only.
This and Fire Woman are the best rock videos ever made. Guys might not think so but millions of women that have been lit tf on fire probably will agree. Oh and then there's Rain. ~whimpers~ There's no putting this fire out.
Ian Astbury is the guy you keep WELL away from your girlfriend
Gorgeous all the way around hair and music!
Now this kicks some SERIOUS ass!! Amazing video!!
That Native American warrior had more right to be on that road then any body else.
Wrong tribe for those landa
Underrated Band
I asked for Sonic Temple for Christmas. I was 15. Changed my life. I now have a natural les paul like you know who. Best album of my youth.
You need to add a Gretsch White Falcon to the flock
Is that Matt Sorum drumming?
Yes but slash loved him so he asked Ian if he could join gnr
No. Mickey Curry plays on the album and Michael Lee (I think) appears on the video.
Ian is one of a kind few front man...and there sound...PURE ROCK
Happy 28th Anniversary to The Cult's CEREMONY disc!!
Omar Villarreal- One of their very best! Their masterpiece?💯❤️
I was at the show at Soma in San Diego the night 125 of us were able to watch them kick ass ! That was when they were kind of lost and on the rocks . 2 years after the amazing Sonics temple tour , 20,000 seat arenas, that night Ian crowd surfed and some FK’n arsh hole grabbed his junk and he flipped out ! Getting back on stage and one by one , breaking every microphone they had , screaming that their is a sick person in the crowd and he wants to kick his arsh ! Then he went into a rage and smashed everything on the stage ! He started the show by pulling out a T shirt that a group of tour leaches were selling at we very show they played ! They broke up that night , up until that moment , there was a wired vibe and he wasn’t singing all of the lyrics to every song they played ! It’s was like watching a meteor on fire crashing to earth and exploding in a mushroom cloud! I wish we’d found the prick that grabbed his junk that night , dead man walking …🙌🏼💥🕳
Damnnnnnnnnnn... Ian got the moves
im serbian ?
