started off with the Mini 4 Pro and 6 months later got the Air 3. Both very similar and capable drones but to me, the air 3 is slightly better due to it's flight times, heavier weight/wind resistance, top speed, and that zoom lens. The bad is one air 3 battery is 2x the price of a Mini battery. The bigger Air 3 makes you seem more high end/professional when it comes to clients. Visibility of the Air is both good and bad over the Mini. It's much easier to keep track of during the day and night but more visible to people that want to cause you issues during flight. The Mini isn't as noticable and if you sneeze hard enough, you might lose VLOS for a few seconds.
Thanks for sharing you perspective on the Air 3. I had considered buying it as my next upgrade but now that so much time has passed, I am expecting the next Air upgrade to be on deck really soon. Truly, if the comparison is significant, I will probably go with that. If not, I will get the Air 3 and likely save a little money.
An excellent review of a truly fantastic drone. It is worth mentioning that if you are using the RC2 then after flying the Air 3 after you have used up all 3 batteries the contoller then needs charging too. If you use the DJI 100 watt charger yoy can charge all 3 batteries and the charger similtaneously and it is really quick to do. Usually taking around 3 hours. I have absolutely no negative issues with my Air 3. I fly it.a lot and never fail to wonder at the multitude if possibilities that are open to it. A lot of them I have tried. A lot of them I have still to try. I would recommend it to just about anyone.
Thanks! It's great to know if info about the DJI 100w charger, thanks so much for that! I agree, I think about how good this drone is for the price anytime I use it.
As a recent purchaser of the Air 3, I really enjoyed your overview of this great drone. I have been a flyer since 2016ish and have owned many models of the DJI line of drones from the Standard Phantom to the AIR 3. I also have a Mini 3 Pro that I fly where I am restricted with the standard license here in Canada. I used to own the Air 2 and I see quite a big difference with the Air 3. Thanks again for your honest review.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the overview of the Air 3 and found it helpful. I'd also love to have a Mini 3 Pro for the smaller footprint. Happy flying 🚁
I just got my Air 3 last week and I love it. I also used to have an Air 2S emphasis on used to. I lost my Air 2S to a tree on the side of a Georgia mountain. It was totally my fault. A very expensive mistake. But with my tax return I picked up the Air 3 and I’m already convinced the Air 3 is superior and I don’t miss my old Air 2S at all. This is a great upgrade in my opinion.
@@VideoVo-Tech it does almost everything a bigger drone does except for zoom but I mostly use it for travel videos and music videos so no zoom needed but it follows my car and has MasterShots All types of features that beginners can use for cool shots
Hi! It doesn't hurt the battery, but I meant that on the Air 2s after a flight I'd often have 30% left on a battery. That meant you could have 5-10 Minutes of flight time left and it was hard to use that battery again without it putting me in a situation where the drone was threatening to auto-land mid flight. If you are doing short controlled flights it may not matter.
I have to say I’m loving the Air 3 so far. I also have the original Mavic 3 . The zoom lens on the Air 3 is far better than the telephoto lens on the original Mavic 3 in my opinion. It’s a solid drone
I totally agree! That's the only problem with companies coming out with so many iterations of things, it really makes it hard to commit to new products. Original Mavic 3 just was a weird time and got so quickly replaced 😢
I totally agree! As a business, the small jumps in tech still have a large impact by saving me time and energy, so I'm always having to look into things and weigh the pro/cons.
Mini 4 looks awesome! For paid work, the 70mm definitely makes the Air 3 a better option for me to get shots that I couldn't before. I'd love to have a M4P or even a M3P though.

I would argue that the night mode isn't cartoonish at all especially the 70mm. It is auto ISO and baked in NR which could deter a lot of people but as far as image quality it is very usable. Understandable though if it doesn't check your boxes!

Oh no! I agree the Air 3 has been a worthy upgrade so far!

I really thought about the M4P! The size seems like it'd be such a fun drone to have.

Sir vision sencer how to clabration
It looks like the Air 3 Auto Calibrates the vision sensor and there isn't a manual way to do it.
I was saving up for a mavic 3 pro till I ran across a air 3 brand new with the rc2 fly more kit for 200 bucks...I stole this thing.
Sounds like you almost literally stole it 🤣
Yes, looks like you literally stole it.
I was looking at the mini 4 pro. But i like 700 grams over 249. Wind becomes a non issue.
Mini 4 Pro looks like it would be more fun to own! The Air 3 makes more sense for me from a versatility aspect. I'd love to have both though!
Running down a battery to 30% ruins it?
🤔

Most people aren't upgrading every year. Thats crazy. Unless there's a major jump in tech without a major jump in price
I totally agree! As a business, the small jumps in tech still have a large impact by saving me time and energy, so I'm always having to look into things and weigh the pro/cons.

Ayyyy 💯🚀🎥
Thanks for sharing
Awesome breakdown !! I am looking in to getting Air 3 now and you helped me set my mind !
That's awesome, really glad it was helpful. Everyone has different needs but the Air 3 is such an incredible drone for the money!

Surely the pro controller will not support further drones. Maybe time think about selling.
