These 2 have the be the best caster ever. Whatever sport or esport or anything you watch. The way that they never interrupt each other but continue talking is very impressive and only something you can do after you have worked with someone for many years.
True. Even for person who doesn't know starcraft they make it somewhat understandable and delightful to watch.
They're excellent. Although I do enjoy listening to Artosis and Tasteless too
I found em way annoying almost wanted to mute the video
@@tylerblevins8664 I am aware of that ahah
I was looking for this comment! I was so taken aback by how well they commentated throughout the entire run-- so informative and helpful too that even people who know very little of the game could still follow along and know what things mean. They're a great team
Imagine if you had these commentators commentating your life: The alarm goes off at 8AM, it's another standard day here in California. John decides to hit the snooze button but this is going to really cost him later on. He doesn't know his boss Sam is preparing to talk about lateness in the team in this month's team review. John finally gets up and decides to get a coffee. Unfortunately, he spills it and has to change his shirt. This is going to cost him another 3 minutes. On the other side of the town, Sam is getting into his car already....

As a Korean who is a fan of StarCraft, I feel very good. As non-Korean gamers win the StarCraft 1 tier tournament such that WCS Global Finals, I hope that the world knows that StarCraft is not a game that only Koreans can play. I would like to thank Serral. It was a good match to know his greatness.
juego arreglado...no hicieron que chocaran contra maru... y marus vs sos.. juego amañado...
Yup Serral is awesome. Proved that Koreans are not op
I feel bad for koreans cuz starcraft is the only thing they were good at besides being good at losing every single war

As a Starcraft fan and Korean I've been watching SC1, SC2 since 20 years ago. Serral is unbeatable, he's just perfect..now i hope to see a lot more international gamers like him compete against Korean gamers..and maybe someday we don't need to separate Korean vs others anymore. Also it's too bad that Reynor couldn't make to Blizcon this time. Well anyway now SC2 is getting more interesting than ever. Thank you Serral, you've rewrote the Starcraft history.
The same thing is happening with many other games as well.
Overwatch shows that Koreans can be beaten. They're not gods, they just play like them.
This just finalizes it. Koreans bleed just as all humans do

@@waitwhat238 League of Legends as well. Previous years have seen Korea v Korea finals at world. This year the last Koreans were knocked out in the quarter-finals, with a Chinese team beating Europeans in the final.
Its cool to see someone who is Korean and is actually willing to give serral props. Good to see just a genuine fan of the game! 2018 was an awesome year for starcraft!
@@waitwhat238 Wait... what? Where did Overwatch show that Koreans can be beaten? They won 3 World Cups in a row and London Spitfire (a team completely consisting of Korean players) won the first overwatch league season.
Makes me happy knowing Geoff was still around to see this piece of starcraft history unfold. Looking at the VODs just puts a smile on my face knowing Geoff got to witness this before his life abruptly ended in July 2019.
I was thinking the same thing.

I think the biggest thanks should go to Serral's brother, for never letting him win as a kid, instilling the mentality of always trying your hardest with every move, from a very young age.
Agreed. Serral was so used to losing, that losing isn't a big deal. Most pros are afraid to lose. And if you're afraid to lose, you can't become your best. I wonder if Serral's brother would have been better than Serral if he had stuck with pro gaming.
Yes I love that. I wonder how great his brother would have been if he followed his dream.
@@jpb6895 Yes I was also programmed by the tiny docu, now I also wonder these things, it is I who wonder, not the thoughts inserted into my mind.

What a player! What a year! I love Starcraft!
" When I came here I was not expecting to win but at the same time that was my goal." Humble man.
I am a Protoss player and I wanted Stats to win, but this. This is historic, I hope to see more players rise up to Serral's level.
Same as a protoss I have to concede that Serral makes this game look like poetry

40 mins in and it's 3:0 for Serral, and I looked up the timer on the video it says 1 hour left. That's when I knew this is gonna be good.
Now none can deny that Serral is the best SC2 player in the world right now, he has dominated everything this year, and crushed every Korean that found in his way.
It´s only sad that maru didnt make it to the finals, cause his series vs sos was so awkward. i feel like maru could have beaten him if he played a normal game (cause sos is the best in crazy games).
He needs atleast 1 gsl trophy only then he can prove he is the best.

This really was a master class in all aspects, and was literally the match that got me into this game.

serral is unbelievable. doesn't talk trash and always respectful towards his opponents. i hope he wins the wesg and katowice next year and a gsl as well.
I've watched this series live but I'm rewatching it a couple of months later just for its sheer beauty
Same...the more I play and then compare to the match, the more I appreciate the game .
I watch starcraft since 15 years, i cried like a baby after this final and still do.
how old are you now? 16?
I'm Terran but I'm so happy Serral destroyed OP Protos!
I cried a little too
@Krikegory Kigerstone Pretty Balanced atm. Best Korean ? Terran. Best non-Korean ? Zerg. Finals ? Protoss vs Zerg. Statistically Zerg does worst in lower leagues, better in top leagues.
Zerg probably has the highest skill ceiling, but those who reach it (Serral and Rogue) are almost unstoppable. Creep reveals entire map, boosts unit speed, zerg can tech swap to counter what they fighting, each hatchery can have up to 19 larva, that's almost 100 units ready to remax with 5 bases. The Zerg late game game potential is almost limitless.
i haven't watched a match in ages

Anyone wants to start a petition for AfreecaTV to host a Serral vs Maru Bo7 cast by Tastosis?
My sentiments exactly. However, Stats just may be the ultimate opponent. Such a solid core to his play and ability to adapt and puzzle out the challenge he is facing. Calm and adaptive under fire... but apparently not quite adaptive enough.
I would put up some money for the prize pool for that showmatch.
@Brandon: I agree with you, but maybe more agression early on would be better to counter Serral (otherwise in late game he seems to be impossible to beat), and Maru is really good at that early/mid game pressure. Stats is more "prudent" compared to Maru.
@John: I would too !!!
@Dimitri Raymondo they actually have specific reasons for that, it is the way all of these things are done, serral won the normal circuit and maru won wcs Korea, so they get opposite brackets, just whats happens
One of the greatest moments in eSports history
The last the game was, in the lightest description possible, HELLISHLY BRUTAL.
- Very conservative and not pushing his luck
- Picks apart army and economy where he can
- Deny's any harass and takes out options for harass
- Even though has slow, powerful units, he uses his fast units to his advantage to take expensive units from Stats
- Constantly thinking about his economy and saving up
AND very important that a lot of people seem to not be paying attention to
- He keeps upgrading to not only have the harass, army size, and economy advantage but the tech advantage as well!!!!
In-fkin-sane match. Honestly, if he retired here, I would be 100% okay with that at this point. This match made me so happy live and now when I replayed it. History is made. GG

Life's win in 2014 convinced us that Zergs can win the big one, Sos' win in 2015 proved that it can be done more than once in a lifetime, Byun's win in 2016 made it clear that you can train and grow alone and take it all as a terran, Rogue's win in 2017 showed that when the time is right, you can seize the moment, and now, Serral's win has allowed a wave of hope and inspiration to take any non-Korean player by storm.

I only stumbled upon this video, it's been awhile since I've been into SC but this has reinvigorated my interest into the game. I grew up playing Starcraft 1 casually and it will always have a place in my heart. Now seeing a non-Korean win like this, with such beautiful gameplay, it's not just a big moment in Starcraft history but ESports in general. GG
5 years ago "what happens next, does he keep winning?" Yes that is exactly what Serral kept doing
in 2017 when he almost won his first tournament, I had no doubts that Serral is different than anyone else in terms of perfection. He is the ultimative zergplayer. but it's not the race, it's his talent. he would be the ultimative terran or toss if that would be his races. Serral is the prove that SC2 is a game of player skills for about 90%. 9 % balance issues, and 1 % luck. about. look how Maru looks nowadays. like a schoolboy compared to Serral. but it is not a balance issue. Clem 7:0 ed Serral in the last pro-matches they had. 7:0 !

It feels like just recently TotalBiscuit in ShoutCraftKings introduced a young man from Finland, making name in european ladder. Now he's a world champ, the one that dethroned Koreans. HAIL TO THE KING!
They need to make a maru vs serral small championship. People would pay to see it.
Yea, everyone wants to see this. Sucks that it got spoiled twice. I still believe Maru has the style to beat Serral. Serral loves to sit back and macro. Maru loves to use early aggression to hurt the enemies and Maru has excellent timing and control with his attacks. Hoping soon we get to see these two juggernaut face each other on a big stage.
I want a series where they invite serral and a lot of other players, and everyone plays serral. The price pool is 100%, and everytime serral loses a map, a small amount goes to the one who took the map. At the end the money left goes to serral
A fan funded Maru vs Serral in a best of 7 or 9. That would be so awesome
One of the greatest series in Starcraft history, and definitely one of the greatest moments of victory!

So humble of Serral. in start of that interview. To imagine I was once or twice his admin years ago on assembly asus rog, to see same guy suddenly kicking the living sh#t outta nation in their own game, no disrepect of course, there was time when finnish people were already super proud of themselves if they beat a korean only once. OMG 2 Million views! I was so happy for Serral when I saw this live, after 2 years it still feels as epic as ever.
First times I see a nonkorean Starcraft player knocks out korea players in ZvZ and ZvP absolutely easily like the way Serral has done. I see he controls and manages the mineral perfectly and slowly push then crush his enemies softly. There is no pressure for Serral at all. Unbeatable Z player 👍

Good new: Zerg was nerfed, and Terran super buffed.
Yea, the new balance patch looks pretty good all things considered. We'll see if anything is broken over the next few weeks/months. I'm a particular fan of the hydra nerf. Think the thor nerf is a bit much though. I think they'll give the armor back eventually. It's too squishy for the cost now.

what a game. Also, unreal that the next champion is from Finland, out of all the countries in the world. Finland has 5 million people. South korea has 50 million people. USA has 325 million people. Let that sink in..
@Cocoy Nohay that is a false conclusion, it's more to do with how few 'chances' a nation has at getting the best SC2 player, if every human has an equal chance of becoming the best SC2 player, than Finland is a very unlikely contender just statically speaking.
Keep in mind, Finns are well known to be die-hard fighters, ever heard about the Winter War? :D

Serral the Koreanator
I didn't think we would get a non-Korean Starcraft player that would be eventually the strongest player in Starcraft 2. To be better than most of the Korean players is quite something as the Koreans were pretty much the best, the professional elite of starcraft for 2 decades.
He plays really beautifully, its incredible.
I would love to Flash back in starcraft 2 again.
the main power from Serral is how he can play more efficient than other Korean Player
in match against Dark and Rogue, he have shown how effective he play. From the equal force he can make Dark lost 1/3 of his force when he only lost for 1/5
maybe there would be different if he met with SOS which more tricky in playing rushing which have been prove very effective against Maru but in long play, there would be Serral
for beat Serral there is only first 5 minutes of the game after getting to mid period there are impossible to defeat him anymore if we look how he managing the forces
Actually i think stats did something not many people have done which is beating him in the midgame, managing to slow him down till he gets enough immortals+storm+charge and just push. Props to him, serral is just too good i feel like tho
But he did meet with sos earlier in the group stage and sos was 2:0'd. You can watch those btw.
@@aidanth9264 yes, i have watch the play and Serral win because he can get through sOs proxy. sOs is only strong in proxy not more. You can see how Stats defeat sOs. Just get through first 5 minutes in the game and the winner have been concluded
