Watching Serral play, and not being a SC2 player myself, makes it hard to imagine how Zerg is not the optimal race. I'm sure they're balanced but dang he makes it look easy with Zerg!

If stats added some colossus, along with archons they would do wonders in zoning out infestors and infested terrans. Protoss should give the death ball another go
The zerg can move is spore crawler that is 1 reason combine with the infestor why it is so strong while the canon can not be move forward but maybe there is a way with a probe and warp prism to push with cannon the warp prism being use to warp the cannon at the same time as the pylon accelerating the push because I feel the protoss as no support while the zerg as spore crawler support.

I haven't followed the game for awhile but what happen to protoss using colossus and void rays? Never see them being used lately.
Colossus are still used sometimes, just not every game as they got nerfed. And void Ray's are just awful

They are too slow, too easily countered and dont do nearly enough of anything to justify the risk of investing the ridiculous cost for no real benefit.

this match is 100% proof that zerg is the strongest race. there is no question. i know serral is highly skilled but this proved beyond any reasonable doubt that zerg is overpowered no matter what point in the game, and it is not just against protoss. the ability for zerg to use other races abilities is completely broken, in theory zerg could literally become the opposing race even though ive never seen that tactic in pro. nydus, mutas, banelings, speedlings, the range and attack speed of queens and defensive speed, neural parasite all at the same time is unbeatable and neural literally deleted that mother ship with no counter play. that is so OP. overlords dropping creep anywhere at will, the ability to save drones by erecting a construct, again neural parasite is just so strong. also you can move spine crawlers now, like wtf? forget infestors, the entire race is OP and always has been and always will be broken until they gut its insane scaling power. fighting zerg in the late game is pointless, they will always have the potential to win, the only viable and borderline hopeless tactic is to try what he said and get zerg to mine out, but realistically how can you do that when it can spawn creep to block your expansions, burrow an entire army right where you need to put it, or instantly spawn a building without a drone with no way to stop it? anyone seeking to argue these facts and claim protoss or terran can compete against a equally skilled zerg player needs a reality check. i cant believe how overpowered serral proves zerg is. there is no denying it, zerg is utterly busted and needs multiple nerfs. i dont understand why everyone in the game doesnt gravitate towards zerg, that it doesnt have the highest win rates across the board, i guess it just requires more skill but that doesnt take away from the fact zerg is the most powerful race in the game by far. and i identify as a terran player, but i dont actually play the game anymore but ive watched every major tournament and this is my clear observation, even if zerg players lose they could have easily won. zerg is too strong.

Kill serral before late game best move. But if its other zerg player in Game 1 just build carrier,mothership, templar combo plus disruptor. And always kill the nydus worm before it finish spawning.
Against brood(gg)lords and (w)infestors: I haven't seen protoss wins against that. At least if players are on the same skill level.
Against nydus: must scout and deny it inside your bases up until a massive counter attack is possible.
Against nydus + swarm hosts: same as for broodlors and infestors.
And yeah Stats is definitely capable of defeating Serral - we saw this earlier this year. Seems like Serral has adapted, or Stats had a bad day... or protoss is just bad vs zerg.
Yeah i'm not sure. With the constant nydus threat, what is their option? They could keep a few gateway units back to kill them, but even that's hard to do in a late game with multiple bases when zerg doesn't need to hold any units back because they can just nydus back to their base anyways.
Neural parasite should require you to have supply for the unit you are neuraling. If you are 200/200 you shouldn’t be able to take half of a Protoss army as well.

kind of nice move by Stats here. He moves out with 4 sentries and two oracles (wat?) but then hallucinates two pheonix in the middle of the map and then sends them over to scout. So he gets a really nice scout and because the hallucinations started in the middle of the map they have a longer life span after arriving at the enemy base. And because he hallucinated two pheonixes he got great vision of his opponents base.

Seams to me that the infestors range is too much, with infestors, the end game combo is unstopable because the main unit counters are susceptible to them (bc, carriers, thors, tempest), infestors need a range nerd to put them in the line of fire for things like ghosts and disruptors. This makes it harder to simply avoid putting them in real danger. That said, I don't actually play so you know armchair pro and all.

Zerg got the Serral advatage at the moment I think, bc every other Zerg can just look at Serral and learn how to play against the other races. Terran and Protoss have really good players but none of them can compete with Serral in terms of innovative play I think. That, in my opinion, creates a weird situation in which the best way to figure out a way to win against zerg for terran for example is to look at how Serral plays with terran against zerg.
I do agree though, that especially infestors are a bit strong right now :]
Lukas Hillebrand Dark doesn’t copy Serral the way Raynor does, its not clear how you can suggest without real evidence that having a dominant player play one race implies every other player at the elite level benefits. Maru’s dominance last year didn’t translate in this way at all. What’s holding all of the top zergs together is abuse of infestor-brood-viper and nydus w/heavy bane and ling run-bys

That last game kinda bugged me. I mean with such a passive late game oriented style, I don't know if he's going to win Blizzcon. I think he needs to have more agressive strategies as well, to become less predictable. Also if you're going to play later stages every game, it must take a pretty big toll on you physically. I mean he was up double the army supply, just make a giant amount of banelings and roll over your opponent (Dark style) You should save energy when you can, so why not just end it earlier?

Because late game zerg won't lose. In his mind, push at the moment equals 75% win rate, while push into late game equals 100% win rate. As a pro, he played safe. It's understandable.

True but at master protoss are underrepresented. I say that because it is about equally as relevant. The skill level and mmr of the top players are to gm as gm is to diamond. If you care about having a balanced competitive environment you should be willing to acknowledge there is a problem with zerg (As have serral and rogue). And i will acknowledge that at typical gm mmr protoss seems to be easier to maintain rank with. Perhaps a group of dedicated cheesers?

@@SquirrilahFish 34 infestors vs 0 collosus. He had only 4 collos earlier and after he lost them he never remade. He had AGAIN tons of archons vs infestor broodlord. The only thing I would argue is maybe reduce colos supply by 1. But as it is, you can affod to get like 6+ collosus and still have a handful of tempests/carriers and a COUPLE archons to kill broodlings. I didnt even mention storm, but do the math; im sure you can squeeze in a few 2-cost high templar.
If you've got a better video of mass collosus losing to mass infestors i'd love to see it. Tempests/carriers with revelation to poke back broodlords, and collosus to melt anything on the ground
@@e7venjedi I'm saying mass collosus beats mass infestor every day of the week. A few archons to handle broodlings from the broodlords, but not running the archons in to get neuraled like every 'pro' does. Toss are still in the mindset of a-move to win, and just bc zergs have a way to punish it, everyone's crying OP. Tempests/Carriers can poke away at broodlords all day with revelation and collosus melt any festors in SECONDS. Not to mention storms.

Honestly sc2 isn’t fun to watch anymore. Zerg is too strong with too many ways to defend and divert early aggression and it’s untouchable late game. So sad
I saw top-100 Zerg recently, who f*cked Top-15 Protoss in ultra late game (about 1 hour). He controlled no more than 30% of the map - and still wins

No one can keep up with Serral late game... even the worlds greatest Zergs!
No one can keep up with him bc his race has too much power. Infester are crazy. They can sawn infested Terran which cost not units and no resources, and then they can actually neural parasite your army supply without any additional cost to Zerg army supply. Essentially meaning that Zerg can have almost an additional 50 army supply in every battle. How is that balanced? Riot should make infested tarred cost supply and give all races a way to disrupt neural parasite. While your at it, disrupters are way to hard to control in main battles. They are the answer to infesters, but not even pro players can micro their shots and micro their army at the same time. They need a click and forget ability like all of Zerg abilities are
