Anyone who hears a JL sub knows that deep bass thump and how it travels out of the source vehicle and into other vehicles. Now imagine that in a MBE designed box 🤌🏽🤌🏽
I’m trying to imagine it lol I have a new 10w7 with JL recommendation of their ported box in my G37. Is it possible to get more performance from a custom box?
Man, this Sq from JL is really the only system I ever wanted, finally got two of these in my truck and it's the best decision I ever made. Spend the money you won't regret it
Finally someone that knows the history of car audio. “Spl” didn’t come into play until the industry peaked in the late 90’s they had to rewind and basically take the industry back to the late 80”s. They did that so that they can fill in all the areas they wished they had before the industry peaked. The only way they could do that is to change competition to be about “spl”, scramble the setups and then …. Create a market that would unscramble the loudness, through “sound organizers” to reach that sound you been chasing. And that opened new industry up to making new products that basically give you what we already had perfected in the late 90’s 🤷♂️
I have two JLW7 12 AE’s ported box in a Tahoe. I have the stinger head unit running optical to a Helix DSP Ultra and a rockford 2500bdcp. Slams like king kong at half volume (20). JL produced the perfect subwoofer with the W7 line imo.
I got excited when I saw the unboxing of the w7. Then right before I started watching the video I saw “Part 1”! 👀 Im really looking forward to learning more about this woofer
The w7 sub was a game changer for me back in 2009 when I got my first 12 w7. I think it sold for 599. I later bought AE 10’s in 2012 for 650 each! The price has kept going up and the product remains the same. Now if that doesn’t say something, I don’t know what does. Today I’m running a pair of RS v2 gold 15’s and I still miss the w7’s I think all manufactures for subwoofers weighing 40lb or more should be mounted to a shipping baffle. I think JL nailed it.
Instead of complaining about the cost, $700, just say the JL Audio W7 8” is not in your financial lane. It’s obviously a market for them. Thank you MBE for the knowledge. #itcostwhatitcost Fact not Fiction
W7 13 beats the block up. It doesn't need power to make output i had a friend with 1 in his center console in a box built by mobile toys custom audio and it was insane for 1 sub i could feel him coming 3 blocks away no exaggeration unbelievable range
Got my 1st W7 in 2005 switched it to another in 2013 from 12 to 13.5 added another one to my charger by far the best sounding of any sub I've owned don't believe me I posted them on my channel years ago always had JL amps to match
What’s better with a MBE BOX THIS W7 or Dd2508g ? I know it depends but as in performance and bass sound quality deep notes ? Not going off brands but for what it is.
JL is top quality and I have had 10s of pairs and had to rebuild several due to foam falling apart from old age but in reality, just like you said it's not 20 years ago now days there are speakers that sound as good or BETTER for half the price or LESS. if you know you know their W cone separates on them often so don't buy them 2nd hand because most likely that is the case.
bobby is right, but otherwise, 1.5ohm. The slash series of amps are legendary. The multi-channel slash series amps are class a/b, the mono blocks are class D and all of them will exceed rated power all the way from 1.5 to 4 ohms. They're big, they run hot, and they take a lot of power, but they're unmatched.
Your info was off a little bit, you said that Focal and Morel were "fathered" by JL and the W7 which is incorrect seeing how Morel started in 1975 and Focal-JMlabs started in 1979 both of which from their inception were sound quality focused companies in the home audio field and maintained that when they started doing car audio. You also left out MTX as being one of the oldest car audio companies still around seeing how "Ivey Electronics" was started in 71' but he had been hand building speakers in his garage since the 60's much like James and Lucio would do later. The MTX brand name would evolve in 83' from Matrecs which Lloyd acquired in the late 70's. Another noteworthy brand you left off that oldest list is Memphis Car Audio which was started by Arthur Fulmer in 1963/64 as Lear Audio and changed it's name to Fultron Car Audio around 1969 and would later change it's name to Memphis Car Audio in 1998. Like Kicker, MTX and Memphis are also still the only old school brands that are still owned by the original people/families that started them....Steve Irby (Kicker), Johnathan Ivey (MTX), Arthur Fulmer lll (Memphis). Please don't take this as me throwing shade, I just wanted to point out what I saw as a few "misstatements" so to speak.....keep up the great work that you do and it's nice to see those that still has your level of passion for this industry we all love!!!! Rick
JL makes great products but I agree they are pricey. The 13w7 cost more than my b2 rampage 15" in which it's smaller brother has done well on this channel.
He runs 8s bc thats the space he has .. its also what he knows about after purchasing and building for probably hundreds if not thousands of them..👍 it makes perfect sense that he talks about and reviews something he knows about rt???
You on the wrong channel. Mb runs what works in his application while at the same time keeping his vehicle fully functional as intended (seating for 4). It’s just that simple 🤷♂️

I had 2 10” w6 back in 2001 still some of the best sounding subs I ever had
Man, this Sq from JL is really the only system I ever wanted, finally got two of these in my truck and it's the best decision I ever made. Spend the money you won't regret it
finally got the jl audio
The older I get some days I think of unloading all my super loud equipment and move towards sq.. I think we all get to that phase 🤔.
I made that transition a month ago.
The definition of sq is probably a lot different than what you might be thinking.

Excellent history lesson on the origins of jl audio and the direction that they went in and where they've gotten up to this point
I run the JL 13W7 in a large suv…. And I love it.
Just got my 12W7AE in my Tahoe today.. luv it
I loved my w7s. They were accurate and played deep with detail.
I have seen the subs before but I am glued to the screen wanting to see your unboxing video. 😂
I fast forward the whole thing.😂
Car Audio history class in session. Love JL Audio

Still the best woffer. The 13.5 was my first sub and it plays every genre of music grate.

Morel and Focal are two more SQ monsters
I love Focal especially their Flax line of speakers!
I got my suit and tie. I love JL. If you want quality, you have to pay

I had a JL 8W0 back in 03-04. That little sub surprised all of us when it started thumping.
Great content, though, whispering through the videos is a killer for work or driving while tuning in 😄
I love Jl! I have 2 12 w3's on a Mosconi 1/10, and they really do well with EDM, but one day I dream of having two 12's :)
When you were talking about super eights, what’s company what are you talking about?
Don't forget Memphis audio too
We get the unboxing upstairs at the high table like the early days.
High table means it is going to be a good briefing!
@@SandMan-e3i No doubt. MB has been preparing us for this presentation for a long time with the education.
I use to have 2 13.5 w7 Jl’s competition

Getting my popcorn ready, these next few videos are gunna be epic 👌🏽
Only thing I didn't appreciate with my many pairs of w6's I've had over the years was the foam surrounds deteriorating in 3-5 years 😢
Jl audio is my favorite…..But I’m currently running two kicker CVX12 on the CXA1800
I think I seen a couple of the homies with Lowriders that have that sub just one too and it slaps with the zap board , epicenter , and equalizer 💯
Greetings friend, apart from this 8" subwoofer that others recommend to play good music with quality and precision.
Keep watching
Do they recommend running at 1.5 or 6ohm when running a single sub? And what amps should you use?
The 8w7 is svc.

@@bobbyleeg thanks man, now I feel dumb lol
3 Ohm is the answer. It's a single 3Ohm voice coil
I looking to put 10 12” solo x w7 in 85 Buick regal or 14 8” solo x w7 just need more info and how much a box would cost
So if this has the best SQ. Why do you prefer the DD?
Team kicker SOLO X is god !!
you need to put some repek on it
Great stuff man
It begins!!
Unboxing ?
Time to add fosgate subs too sir!

W7 THE BEST
JL invented the super 8.
Back at the table lol
For the money, qclass is king in all departments by far.
uh oh
👀
$700 is a lot of money for a 8" Subwoofer! There's better options out there for a lot less money!

Unboxing? Fool never opened the box!
Do why do you keep pissing around with these little 8-inch subwoofers
Get more Bass from a f****** fart
Why does it bother you what another grown man runs?
He runs 8s bc thats the space he has .. its also what he knows about after purchasing and building for probably hundreds if not thousands of them..👍 it makes perfect sense that he talks about and reviews something he knows about rt???
I also have the old pair 13.5 w6v2.haven’t had nothing come close to the sound.once u go jl it’s very hard to leave them
