Amazing work, love to see the progress! A recommendation I would give, if you plan on having a similar system to spectating like SL, is having the SCP documents to read on in there too. This could encourage new players to kill time spectating by learning about the game and it’s functions, as well as be a way to get through the boring minutes as an experienced player to potentially learn something you didn’t know. Can’t wait to see where you take this thing. Good luck on your endeavors!
Hmm. Making the documents accessible from spectator chat? That’s something I haven’t thought of. I’ll definitely take in into consideration, but there’s one concern I have with that idea. Like how on the SCP Wiki, some documents are on varying levels of classification, I want to lock certain documents behind varying levels of clearance access which would be unlocked by holding a keycard when mounting the computer. For example SCP 008s document says "only personnel level 4 or higher may access this document", so I would implement it so you need a level 4 or higher keycard to access that document. I’m unsure if making the docs accessible from spectator chat would ruin the flow and incentive to get the right keycard needed to access them.
As far as I can tell there is no incentive to read the documents past learning abt the game and to me that means there is no reason past trying to keep the game accurate to lock them behind key cards, it would just mean that a more experienced player wouldn't worry abt the computers and a new player would have to put in more effort than necessary to get information that they could just google. This is the first dev-log I've watched for this game so maybe your trying to keep it very accurate, idk.
@@Claudehopper Maybe the documents could be locked behind interacting/using the item from the document? This could help reduce confusion but not overwhelm you with a large amount of documents at a time.
If the bad graphics and pixel sprites is what you're referring to, those are just placeholders for more quality art that will come later. Right now my focus is on making the game functional. Here's a playlist for all episodes so far if you wanna know more ua-cam.com/play/PLVomz8bK_IIvUMg_1RvCtmFRG7RONc09W.html
