Hi, Sewstine! I absolutely adore your videos and personality !
But I always had the question of how did you learn to read and comprehend patterns with such a demanding job?
Thank you so much for putting out these videos of pure bliss! I look forward to your future ones!💕💕

Nurse Joy has one of the best and cutest character designs in all of pokemon. I love how they clearly imitate the colors and shapes of the Chansey line. Tbh I also have a soft spot for that line cause of how tanky they are, always a welcome addition to a nuzlocke team
Hahaha! Yes! #teamchansey!!
Gorgeous Nurse Joy outfit! Sure, you don’t match any of the ones in the anime exactly, but there’s more than enough variation in their outfits that you’d fit right in. And just because some of them (or even most of them) prefer a shorter skirt than you do doesn’t mean yours isn’t appropriate. Even the pockets are perfect, because a character as practical as Nurse Joy would absolutely want those.
Oh no your beautiful dresses! I love hearing followup on how they're doing. This is actually the first time I've seen a UA-camr address wear and tear on outfits. It's actually really nice to see you put your clothes to everyday use and don't keep them locked in the closet like a museum piece. I also like to think about how I'll be wearing my cosplay pieces after the conventions. I'm currently working on Kiki's iconic purple dress. Will you be making a video of your remakes of the dresses, or of you repairing them? I'd LOVE to see that. Repairing clothes is how I got into sewing in the first place and it's so rarely shown in the costube space.
So cute!!! It’s good to know how the other gibli core dresses you made held up too. I’ve been wondering.
"A truly essential character . . . " I saw what you did there, Ms. Doctor! (and thank you for your service in this pandemic!)
Thank you for showing how your previous dresses wore and how you improved on that.
Absolutely loved seeing that one of your dresses had worn out. It was such a nice reminder that well loved clothes are suppose to eventually wear out from use. Another super cute dress as always!!
i didn't know all the different changes nurse joys design went through over the years, but im glad the most recent one is basically the same dress as the original
Ill bet your son adores it when you show up as Nurse Joy, making Pikachu rice! Your cottagecore dresses are so cute and comfortable looking!
I'm glad you showed us how the old dresses held up! Hope this one is more sturdy!
All your projects are so gorgeous and incredible well done, but I find myself getting most excited about your casual cosplays. The combo of paying tribute to something you love and having something that is both practical and pretty just scratches an itch in my brain. Just making pretty stuff that you get to wear everyday instead of just a special occasion is truly special to me as somebody who doesn't have a lot of special events to go to. And this nurse joy dress no is no different, it is just so wonderful💗
I can't handle how freaking cute, adorable, and on point this is! The dress looks so comfortable and practical and THE POKEBALL BUTTONS!! I'm obsessed! And I can't wait to hear your feedback about the structural/durability changes you made in several months time.
Thank you so much for sharing Christine!!
there aren't enough EEEEEEEEs in SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! i love secret cosplays! and pokemon! and embroidered pokeballs! and pockets for cell phones and hair braids and adorable four-legged floofs and pikachu rice! and plushies! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! the outfit is absolutely lovely on you. here's hoping it holds up for hundreds of washes!!
Thank you so so much!!!!
This is adorable! You did an amazing job
Oooh!!! Enjoy!! The games are such a delight!
Love it! You did a wonderful job! I love hearing the modifications to the cottage core dress/hearing how the Sophie dress held up. I want to make a Sophie dress inspired by yours so knowing that the waistband needs more reinforcement really helps! Definitely keep us updated on how this new version holds up over time.
Ok, I am absolutely smitten with those pokeball buttons!
Ahahaa! I love how you show your phone with the cut pocketbag, like "so there, commercial garments, cute clothes can absolutely have useful pockets!" This whole project is adorable. I wanted to chime in about linen wearing out, though. I use a lot of linen, and especially linen sheets. I've found that not putting linen in the dryer makes it last a LOT longer. If you can't line dry entirely, then just pull the linen out of the wash while it's still a bit damp, and tug to straighten out the wrinkles. You should notice a lot less lint in your dyer trap, and the garments will last longer.
Ah you got the irregular choice bag! So cute!
Yes!!! I can’t believe you recognize it!
@@Sewstine I am an Irregular Choice collector and fanatic so I knew it instantly 🤣 have you got any of their shoes too?
So Cute. You look like a little girl who got her favorite costume. I learn so much from watching your videos.
Well, that was fun. Enjoy playing with your son. Cheers.

Thank you for making this from an RN! The pink linen is to die for and I love the Pokeball buttons 😍
The idea with the waist band is brilliant - I look forward to finding out how it works.
If you still wanted to do a gathered straight panel skirt for future iterations, making the ratio between the skirt and the waist smaller would probably help the dress stay together. This in addition to the reinforced waistband on this version should help it hold up. I also wonder if the rips you saw coincided with the pocket locations? Adding pocket stays might also help, you can just sew some twill tape to the waistband and the top of the pocket. This will make it so that the pocket isn't pulling on the side seams of the skirt. I'm trying to think about how else to make that seam more sturdy, but I really think that distributing the weight of the pockets to the waistband will help.
My kids are also obsessed with Pokemon, and when my ten year old was in second grade I made her a pikachu costume out of a yellow hoodie. I made the ears and tail out of felt, stuffed them and tacked them on. It looked really cute.
A linen waist tape may also help with the weight of the skirts
Watched today after Angela 's drop. Yep queen of trim and embellishments.
This came out so beautifully, I love the buttons so much!
Absolutely adorable! Your daily cosplays are amazing
That turned out wonderfully. You look marvelous. Thanks for taking us along on your creative adventure.
Ok your drawing skills is in point! What a cute cottage core Nurse Joy! I wear cotton dresses around the house all the time but knee length is too short for me. I prefer the hem right around my ankle, the feel of the fabric swishing around makes me happy. I’m lucky though, I work remotely so I can really wear whatever I want.😍
this is so cute! I'd have liked to see the dress n buttons without the apron too pls.
That is awesome! Go to the grocery store and have all the little kids just lose it because Nurse Joy is there! 😃
And this is my moment of joy. It looks terrific and that spin.
you should make one of the go princess precures attack gowns. theyre big ball gowns with tons of frills. i think youll like this magical girl anime
Lovely! And the rice is also cute!
the dress is so cute as always ! but also i love the pikachu rice for your son thats so cute 🥺🥺💕
That red dress is dreamy
Nice touch, posing by the mirror to create multiple Nurse Joystines.
Bonus Points for that Pikachu Bag!
Thank you!!
Also bonus points for the Pikachu rice!
This is just so darling! I love all of these everyday cosplays! I’ve always been partial to the idea of making cosplays as though there were real clothes for the real world.
Love this! The pink is just perfection!
i love thiiiiiis so cuuuuute!!! you always look so beautiful and happy when you're wearing your finished dresses
LIVING for the Fountain Pen Sketch! 🔥
(Fountain Pen Supremacy)
Ahhh!!! Yes! Did you notice it’s an antique music nib?
@@Sewstine Yes.
That is adorable! It's admirable to mend clothes and wear them out. It doesn't seem like that happens so much these days, as people tend to tire of their clothes and get rid of them before they show much wear. Can't wait to see your next project!
The dress turned out so cute and looks so comfy! I love your cottage core videos so much. While cottage core isn't exactly my style, there are definitely a lot of elements that apply to the sort of things I'd like to learn to make for myself. I also really love the red dress you're wearing in part of the video, even if the long puffy sleeves don't look super practical.
please please PLEASE show us the pink gingham frilly dress you were wearing!!! it looks delightful!!!
I just rewatched the first few Pokemon episodes and this is fantastic!
I love the hope bags aka pockets
obsessed with how it turned out!!
I love this series! I can't wait to see what you make next ☺
This is so cute and I love your twist on it!
Absolutely lovely, just like all your cottage core/ghibli core outfits 😊! It's so sad that linen easily gets completely worn out so fast 😥. I suggest that the next time you extend the pockets all that way up and include the upper edge in the waistband seam. YES, make them even bigger haha! This will distribute the weight more evenly and reduce the stress on that seam. You can also reinforce the upper edge of a heavy skirt by flat lining that part with a piece of cotton for example. This would give a visible seam maybe 2.5 cm or one inch below the waist seam but it could improve the lifetime of the dress quite a bit 😉. Iron on interfacing could do the trick too... Good luck with all upcoming projects 🥰!
Such a cute look!
Super cute!! I love how this turned out! ♥
This is so perfect! I love your design choices, they truly improve the look. Looking forward to the next dress in this series!
I love this dress and apron! Thanks for talking about the number of washes and the wear patterns of your other dresses. Very interesting and helpful.
This is one of the most adorable things I have ever seen.
Thanks, Sewstine!
your dogs are so cute. i love cavalier king charles spaniels so much, those big eyes and floppy ears 🥺
Seriously adorable on you! I am looking forward to the 60 wash update tbh. ❤️
My apologies for not watching this right away. I've been really behind on my viewing. Thank You so much for the pattern link in the description. This is such a lovely dress, that I can't wait to stitch one up of my own. I do love your videos. Take care!
What about sewing waist tape in and attaching the skirt to that as well? Super cute outfit!
How did I, an American Girl collector and Pokeani fan, not notice how closely Kirsten's birthday outfit resembles Nurse Joy's until you pointed it out?
Love it!!!
Thank you for always bringing us Joy 💖
This is adorable! One of my nephews LOVES Pokémon (not sure if he’s discovered the games yet) and would get such a kick out of having pokeball buttons! Not to mention the pikachu rice, though he’s such a picky eater I’m not sure he’d try it lol!
This is too cute!
watching to hype myself up for working with linen this weekend
Dresses in linnen should be hung dried and not tumbled dried, it breaks the fibers and your dress wont hold as long.
This is so cute I would love to see you take on the classic wicked witch outfit and turn it cottage core or glenda.
CUUUUTE! I'm laughing that the American Girl Doll has a Nurse Joy costume! Does this make you Nurse Joy-stine? THank you for the recipe!
What's even funnier is that it was probably a complete accident--that doll outfit pre-dates Nurse Joy's anime debut by about ten years. Unless it's Nurse Joy who's cosplaying Kirsten, haha.
Listen cottagecore is legit on
So 🥰 cute!
Very cute
This is really cute and so wearable.
Very cool 😃
I am so in love with your costumes especially this one so cute .I have a question have you ever made Kiki dress ?
A perfect character for our viral times.
Do you always freehand your sketches with ink like that? 😱 they really look stunning 💖
Yet another cute cottage core dress.
I was wondering, how do you keep the fabric edges from fraying? Do you zig-zag stitch? How well does that hold up to washing/wearing?
Your drawings are really pretty. Its too bad the other dresses are falling apart but it sounds like you got a lot of use out of them
Would sewing a twill tape to the skirt side of the waist help with the weight of the skirt?
Can we get a video on this black dress @ 13:32 with those incredible sleeves???
OMG 2 SECONDS IN AND THE NURSE JOY OUTFIT IS SO CUTE! #PokémonHealthWorker
Perdon pero estoy enamorada del vestido rojo que te pusiste cuando estabas haciendo el delantal. Tienes un tutorial ?
ficou lindo
This is so freaking cute I want to die.
15:40 Karolina Zebrowska???
How do you engineer/design a more long lasting piece of clothing? Like a e.g. a dress 😅 I have no idea how our ancestor did it. ... Better material ???????
