Not really. He let them fight each other for a while before throwing the balls, so their HP was low.

I still remember having to spend like a hundred ultra/dusk balls or such just trying to normally catch giratina for example in pokemon diamond. Not even shiny hunting or anything. Just shit kept going wrong and it wouldnt get in the ball.

I think this is my favourite entry so far.
I love how we have literal kaiju monsters choosing to slap fight over using their elemental powers.
Fun fact: a 10 years old kid once managed to capture the literal God of pokemons Arceus. He could control the universe but being so young and unconscious of that are the only reason that prevent this.
