I collect Crash Bandicoot merch and I stumbled upon a RC car toy of Cortex that was made for the 1999 PS1 game. After posting about it on Reddit, I got a reply back from Rob Titus, a former Naughty Dog dev who worked on everything from Crash 2 to Jak X. Anyways, apparently that Cortex toy was made with the N on Cortex's head painted silver instead of black like how Naughty Dog intended. Rather than recalling all of the toys, a Universal executive ordered the shittiest photoshop job possible on the box to change the N from black to silver. Being that CTR was the last Naughty Dog-made Crash game, Cortex's N has subsequently been a metal plate instead of a tattoo ever since. Pretty neat!
Also CTR Nitro Fueled is made by Beenox not Toys for Bob by the way. And forgot to talk about Koala Carnival, Megamix Mania, Gingerbread Joyride, and Drive-Thru Danger.
clicked on this video on accident and watched on a whim. I played CTR a LOT as a child, and watching you talk about the tracks from the remaster is a lot of fun. it's interesting to me to hear you say so many of the Nitro kart tracks being among the most fun, and while I like most of them, I feel a much stronger connection to the original tracks, even if they kinda neutered sewer speedway by killing the full pipe sections. I loved sewer speedway because my brother and I had a really solid back and forth with time trial ghosts on the track, and we got very well acquainted with it. We did the same thing on some other tracks too but not to the same extent or nearly as competatively. It's interesting some people don't really like the longer tracks, I personally prefer running the longer tracks. You seem really cool so I'm glad I happened upon your video!
This game on PS1 was my childhood. Love the PS4 remake today. It's brilliant! Glad you made a video on this one, and even more glad that you enjoyed this game as much as you did too! 200th like!
Megamix Mania is also worth mentioning, you need to get perfect boosts at the start and get blue flame from the first jump so you can get the shortcut inside the ship you also need to memorize the placement of the paint mines because they can ruin day Megamix is also not required for the platinum trophy, but the shortcut alone might take time to master
I was obsessed with Nina Cortex as a kid, she was my comfort character. I loved her in twinsanity when she was an animal loving, mute goth girl. She changed as the series went on but I still love her best from that. Her uncle cut off her hands and replaced them with robot ones because she was too nice to little animals. She is Cortex's ... niece probably, he at one point almost calls her his daughter then corrects himself and that's still up for debate to this day.
FUN FACT: Nina Cortex first appeared in the GBA Crash game, Crash Purple; Ripto's Rampage which yes Crash met Spyro although it's not what people hope. Also although Nina was planned to appeared in Twinsanity first but something had messed up during development. Interestingly, Nina is also planned to appear in the original Crash Nitro Kart as well from the concept art that was found.
I never realized this wasn't just a straight-up copy of the original PS1 Crash Team Racing! I was already considering picking this one up, but now even more so.
I loved this game, not as a player, but as a spectator. The stages were beautiful and interesting, the cast was charming and the gameplay was ultra enjoyable to watch. Also, the polar bear character, that I don't remember their name, is a total Chad.
I’ve just subscribed the other day and have been binging your awesome content, but I’m wondering if you ever played Crash Bash? That and CTR were my faves as a kid! Anyway, love you and your perspective and can’t wait to watch more!
i never played the og ctr or crash platformers (or should i say crash-fromers.........you can't make me feel ashamed i know no shame), but have been interested in getting the n sane trlogy and this, and this video increased my interest in getting it :D
No, please...no separate PS5 trophy list for a PS5 port. I started playing this game when the monthly events started up, and it took me a solid 6-7 months of daily hardcore playing to get good enough to get that Platinum. It's still up there with Dead Space 2; Bloodborne, and Sekiro for one of the hardest Platinums I've ever gotten. I can't do it again.
I didn't even know there's a modern crash team racing game. The last one i played was Crash Tag Team Racing back in the PS2 and PSP era. So much fun wacky shit
They made a remake of the original in the footsteps of the N-Sane trilogy. From this footage I'm guessing they made another after that or just added more tracks.
Early in the video you said something that made me think of a clever comment I'd leave at the end, but then I forgot what it was so take these cute bear emojis instead.🧸🧸🧸
I've only ever played Crash 4 and a bit of the remake. I will never touch another Crash game or else my controller will be through my TV and my PS5 shattered in the road.
@@MertKayKay my partner and I beat it over the span of a week, swapping the controller every other level. We had mental breakdowns during the last few levels and the last level I racked up AT LEAST 200 deaths. Never again will I touch that series XD
Oh my god yes, do you remember the one where you have to swap masks whilst jumping through the air? Cortex Castle I think it was. I actually died more than 100 times just there
@@MertKayKay YES!! I was the unfortunate one to do that part and ooooooh my god. That's where most of my deaths from that level came from cause you have to time it so SO right. I can't remember the masks name but it was the purple-red one, the mask after you get Lani Loli. But I couldn't use that mask for shit.
i just know that if you put Velo's time (or Dev time) into consideration, Out of Time will just jumped from mid-rank into harder-rank (i'm aware this was made before Velo's reveal lol)
I disagree with some ranking. To me Jungle Boogie is the easiest ever in that game(obviously is not easy for beginners). I have played the game for about 2 years and similar as you said, I play for fun, not for world records or to brag with something. So, in all that time, I still struggle to beat about 1/3 of the races even on medium level. As for Hard, almost nothing, except that race. I'm able to beat the bots time 9 out of 10 times, sometimes even able to finish about 10 sec before the 2nd one. Apart from Jungle, there are only about 5 races, which I have beaten on Hard(all of them just once), after like 20-30 tries in each. And there are still races who give me hard time on medium and I sometimes win, sometimes can't even there. Hard is just impossible for me(except for that 1 race). I see you put amongst the easiest Nina Nightmare, well that's one of those that I regularly lose even in medium. No way this is considered easy track.
Oh, and I saw you put Deep See on 2nd hardest. Well, that to me is kinda the 2nd easiest. It(+ Barin Ruins) are the other, who I have managed to beat even on Hard more than once. And it's like when I try them on Hard, I beat them 1 out of about 5 times. While there are races who I have tried 30-40 times and always lose with distance.

When I got this game 4 years ago, I used to think Turbo Track was the hardest map. But after the dev times it’s now one of my favorite tracks.

Yeah Nina’s related to Cortex if you didn’t already look into it by now. She’s his niece. She showed up in a gba title first iirc.
Aww Fritzy that is so cute! :D
In crash twinsanity cortex says "my daughter... Errrr niece" is Nina really cortex niece?
@@renamon5658 I think so. Iirc the wiki lists her as that.

Can you make a your top 10 favorite crash boss theme?
