    well here's a thing... cabin heat protection is not just to make ur car cooler but also to prevent degradation materials inside ur cars like plastic, rubber, leather, fabric. also reduces risk of cracking, fading and other forms of dmg caused by prolonged exposure to high temperatures... so your picks there

    Just to clarify, Cabine Overheat Protection is only active for 12 hours after you leave the car, then it shuts off (or if your car hit 20% battery, then it will disable it at that point also).

      @EddyGoesTesla  23 дні тому +4

      I know that at 20% it starts to shut things off so it doesnt drain as fast but didn't know it only last for 12 hours. thank you

    Good video. It’s interesting that I’ve seen posts from folks on FB groups stating phantom drain ranging from 2% to 40%. Without question, you’re right about Sentry Mode. I know others have stated that cabin overheat is only supposed to work for 12 hours, but the drain that some folks see implies that isn’t always the case even if Tesla says it is. Perhaps if people use the app to actively check something that wakes the car up, the 12 hour period resets? One last thing I’d strongly recommend to anyone leaving their car overnight outside is to get a sunshade cover like the Magshade or similar. That makes a huge difference to the temperature inside. A more costly add-on to that is tinting the windows and roof. But that’s less effective than the sunshade, and getting one for the front windshield is also helpful.

      you might be onto something with the 12 hour reset that might be a video idea that i can pull off and test it. Ive been thinking about tinting my car but will see if i do or not. thank you for the comment means alot

    I've had my car sit in my garage for 2 months undriven and unplugged (long international trip) and it only lost a few %. It was about 5% if I remember correctly.

      No. If you turn Sentry mode off, then it's off. No recordings.

      Sentry mode will detect parking garage vibrations as well as people by it. This is old news.

    From my personal experience with my model 3 its seems like turning off mobile access leads to less phantom drain as well.

      If i'm not wrong they updated the app to make sure that doesnt happen as much. You can tell because it said car asleep 15 mins ago.

    New tesla owners lol. Old news. Small traffic in a parking garage, it will drain about 3%. In an airport, sentry mode will eat up to 9% battery.

    The main thing is for Tesla to stop using your car to process data, yeah, they do that, uses lots of energy. If your car is under warranty just keep filing warranty claims until Tesla stops using your car as a data processing computer. My sister had that problem, we kept harassing Tesla and they kept telling us that the car using 22 to 25 miles of range a day while park on the driveway was normal, nope, we don't buy that. We kept filing warranty claims until the problem magically stopped happening.
