To be honest I expect more. And the only reason why I said is because his Nuggets days was good and all but he really could’ve elevated his game some besides just a jump shot & highlight dunks. That’s what I personally believe though

I expected more seen him play in the ny kingdome turny with other NBA players he had the skills to avg 25 to 30 a night that shows you that when you relay on talent alone you won't be come better If he work half a hard as kobe he might been a top ten player

Jr. Smith also had his growth stunted in denver after that brawl when Allen Iverson was traded to denver and that instantly took minutes from jr. Where he had to be a 6th man , however he was the biggest Wildcard ever .he's like a Ricky Davis with crazy 3pt range and the antics energy similar to JohnStarks that just mentally didn't keep it together enough to become a Allstar but he was still fun to watch in his prime.

His best seasons were in 2009 with Denver, 2013 with the Knicks and 2016 with the Cavs. In 2009, he had Melo and especially Chauncey to keep him in line. In 2013, he had J Kidd. IYKYK for the nuggets he was solid , for the knicks you can argue he should’ve been an all star , a pivotal role player on Cleveland’s championship team , was able to win another ring with the lakers this year. That sounds like a great career if you ask me. Everybody won’t become a perineal all star or a franchise superstar. He fit his role in perfect in the league.

Lol! SO basically, you know how the Octopus can squeeze and contort itself (no bones) and fit in and escape any environment or enclosure, Smith is like that because he had the talent to fit any situation on the floor. He could do it all when he was young, especially shooting guard duties. But, it's like while he had those Octopus like gifts, his body was instead made of metal if you will. Hardened, unable to adjust. So he looked like he had those abilities, but a metal skin that prevented him from using them. That stopped him from adjusting and stunted his growth. I know that's really out there.

JR Smith would have benefitted from going to college for 2 to 3 years under a top tier Coach. He missed alot of the fundamentals, knowledge, and transitional professionalism that would have gave him a firm foundation. He just wasnt focused and mature enough to take the next two steps
He had all the tools and talent to be an elite player.
Sometimes he would look like every bit of Kobe's equal then other times he would look like a average player.

Dwight, Okafor, Ben Gordon, Shaun Livingston, Devin Harris, Childress, Deng, Telfair, Big Al, Josh Smith, Jr Smith, Jameer, Delonte, Tony Allen, etc. That draft class had so much potential and a lot of those guys still had pretty good careers but injuries and other issues had them lose years off their prime and a lot of them were out of the league earlier than people expected.

Imagine if J.R. took the 3-pointer instead of dribbling it out. If he made it, he would've been a hero, considered clutch, and he would've had a long lasting career. It's horrinle how some players are defined by 1 play. Example. Bill Buckner with the Red Sox, J.R Smith, etc. It's the sad, grim reality however that's why your getting the big bucks. To be clutch. Paul Pierce was always clutch. Not the fastest player of flashiest, however clutch when it counted. Great video. Can't believe I barely came across this one.

You should be over 100k Subs bro. keep it up. Get this mans subs up peeps !!!!!
Btw JR Smith is a basketball genius, he maximized his career with the low mental aptitude he had.
Serious or not, he won 2 chips , 6 man year, made history with lebron, nuff said, id take it. lol .

Based on what I’ve seen and know of Smith, his immaturity, his involvement with teams that had stars like Melo, CP3, and Bron, AND his “party like a rock star” lifestyle did JR in. Which is sad.

I understand exactly what is meant here by stunted growth because if JR had a work ethic like Kobe or MJ or Lebron he would have been a HOF because his athleticism was off the charts and his skill level was off the charts for a dude who didn’t even try to elevate his level but if working on his craft like the greats did we would be talking about the HOF career of JR Smith!

Was watching another video and seen this..never been this early. JR got hot at the right time burger game. He was supposed to go to Carolina and be back on the 05 chip team. They were already loaded. He had all the talent to be an elite SG. Range, athletic, good size for the position. Just IQ wasn't there. His is what a lot of the top guys are now. Super talented but don't have basketball IQ. It was crazy to hear Anthony Edwards the no1 pick say he doesn't watch basketball. How are you increasing your bball iq, seeing teams weaknesses, where you can take advantage of things etc. That being said, JR has some of the craziest HOT/Game dunks moments I've seen..very frustrating.. SN the guy who fouled him is Mardy Collins out of Temple..might be another SG case.

Sometimes people are forced 2 accept their roles. But I think JR got in a so much dumb trouble early & throughout that when he got 2 Cleveland wit Bron he really appreciated the opportunity. His career was rescued in Cleveland. Im sure he's satisfied and compared 2 others in his class didnt make it this far.....I hate that I love the guy so much👌🏾great video u were on point i 4got about New Orleans
