Tinsley clearly had some flaws as a player and person. But to go from high school dropout and JUCO to an 11 year NBA career is still pretty remarkable. I can't call him stunted.
Nah he’s stunted because he had the potential to be much more than that. He should’ve been a top 5 pick and perennial all star. He had that kind of talent. But his personality and behavioral issues kept him from reaching his full potential. Someone with less talent but the same issues wouldn’t have even made it to the league.
@Harvard university Archaeologist somebody is mad lmao. Is this a Jamal Tinsley burner account? Triggered asf lmao
@@tradingpost431 I disagree with the top 5 pick theory. He lacked above average athleticism and strength. Every time he went against a top elite PG in his age group. He constantly got owned. If he was suppose to he a top 5 pick that should have never happened.
He reached his ceiling I think. A solid starting PG that with the right team could have been a contender. Like a Mark Jackson or Jason Williams.
If you are the 27th pick and play more than 5 years your growth wasn't stunted
@@tannerdunn9235 name 27th picks other than Tony Parker that turned into hall of farmers or even all stars? If you are lucky, they become NBA starters at best. Tinsley was as good as a 27th pick was supposed to be. He maxed out. People gas that Rucker shit up. Thats not real fundamental basketball. Playground legend means NOTHING in the NBA.
@@tannerdunn9235 even more so in the nfl. The nfl has a larger talent pool. If you played more than five years in that league you’re a seasoned vet
Tinman had that thing on a string. For him to not play in HS to be a 10 plus year pro is very impressive. Salute for this
Tinsley was definitely in them streets. My cousin and I once saw him in Harlem. It was late at night and he was in a very shaky part of town in front of a local chicken spot. He had no security or anything. However he was mad cool to us so respect to him.
jamaal tinsley was cold glad the younger generation is remembering some of these ballers who were slept on another great video
Naw Jamal was a dope guard that played organized and Street ball.
@@keyroncampbell I feel Jamal was more of a thoroughbred as a pure point guard ,he would have really been Cold af if he had a Outside shot or a Baron Davis bounce or motor .
I remember he had a 19pts 23 ast game on the Pacers. I thought he was on his way to superstardom.
how about the Thanksgiving triple-double,both games, yeah looked like he was on his way!
Cory Maggette will be a good 1, if u haven't already did a piece on him
I’ll do it !!! Corey Maggette. He should’ve been a football player or maybe a boxer. Story done.
@@time2work430 his game was solid, really didn't have a weakness.. could do everything
Jamaal Tinsley was nice. Cassius Winston from Michigan State reminds me of him
the fact that you involve your viewers a lot is one of the reasons I really appreciate you as a creator JC!
Loved watching him in college and was shocked when he slid all the way to 27 when he was drafted. Is it just me or does his game look similar to Mark Jackson?
Definitely. Whenever I hear or see Mark Jackson. I think of the between the legs bounce pass behind him to Patrick Ewing for the dunk.
You know the name, there’s no avoiding Kerry Kittles.
JC - now THIS is a stunted growth! Leave the 27th pick of the 1st round who played 11 YEARS IN THE NBA alone! Lol sometimes my man gets this "stunted growth " thing confused. Now Kittles? He was someone we just knew was gonna be a superstar...and ended up being just decent lol
He always reminded me of mark Jackson a Prototypical NYC point guard. Jamaal Tinsley is from Brooklyn so its a no brainer he had some street in him. yeah his Jump shot was not reliable.. salute to him for making it to the league and staying 11 years
Im from the DC area...you can use the Bullets roster for Stunted and/or growth spurts during laže 80s/90s
Ledell Eckles, Pervis Ellison, Bernard King, Mugsey Bowes, Manute Bol, Harvey Grant, Kevin Duckworth, you already did Rod Strick! , Calbert Chaney, Tom Gugliotta, Tom Hammonds...you did Kwame (ain't realize how Jordan came at that youngin and the muscle he put on)...Ill end with Darrel Walker. Mr. Hands ...before 30 point triple doubles being normal he averaged 10 points 9 boards, and 8 assists with a couple steals and a block for a season in the 80s. Appreciate the channel fo sho!
I need an Eric Murdock stunted growth!!
Another guy who's growth wasn't stunted! He played to the max of his abilities
I'm glad you finally did J. Tinsley/People always mention that Tony Parker started for the Spurs his rookie year but so did Tinsley and they got drafted in the same class 💯💪🏽 #Brooklyn
Tinsley was always fun to watch growing up, he fit that era of NBA/And1 hoop era. Nice work! How about Antawan Jamison a forgotten bucket!!
Damn the way this video went it feel like Tinsley was very lucky to get to the NBA. He was in a good position to get to the NBA
Quentin Richardson Lamar Odom 💎
This was a dope pick. Thanks for this one. I hated the Pacers but I had love for Tinsley, Artest, Steven Jackson, Mark Jackson and Jermaine O'neil #NYK
I remember the first time I seen JT it was 1999 Iowa St vs Missouri he was cooking Keyon Dooling after that I said that's my guy even though The Jayhawks or my squad and we had to see him for those two years
I played juco with him in California for two years he was simply amazing with the ball!
As a life long Pacer fan I loved that dude when he was on
SAME! Now Haliburton has come, and yesterday he tied JT's franchise record of assists at 23. He's gonna be fun to watch. Just hope we can keep him, and get him some help!
Can we get a Stunted Growth On Todd Day
Scotty Thurman Clint Dillard Lee Mayberry Anderson hunt Tony Rutland Yinka dare
@@Intellectually_Ignorant_brand I thought about them dudes as soon as I seen Todd day
@@amancalledhawk5575 Totally agree Bro!!! Tod Day was a BEAST at Arkansas. Under the MAN, Nolan Richardson's 40 minutes of HELL!!! And please DON'T forget my Boy "Big NASTY" Corliss Williomson.
High School Drop out , Juco , then 11 year career and his growth was Stunted??
I would like to see a Stunted Growth on Danny Granger. Granger averaged 20+ and it seems his career just phased out once PG13 came on board.
UA-cam woulda been home for Jamal Tnsley if it out when he was on the Pacers. I used to tell my boys about the flashy plays he had
Danny granger
One thing you mentioned that's studded his growth is because he couldn't stay out the streets because I remember when I was young I had to be 16 and I met him he was gambling in the projects with a foreign car and a white girl by side I was such a fan of learning out his stats. I remember that stuck with me and something you said that resonated to me.
He was my co workers cousin! When he got drafted, my co worker came in with all these Indiana pacers t shirts and was giving them out.
Tightest handles I’ve ever seen. The ball never got away from his body
Watching him play in Pre-Teen Classic n other tournaments around Brooklyn from a young age never expected him to make it where he made it due to the streets ..I was happy to see Mal go Pro. Good dude on n off the court!
Thanks alot for this one fam!! Now we need. Charles Jones, jamel Thomas, reggie Freeman, adrian autry.
The days of baggy shorts and jerseys lmfao I love it those days were the best
TILDEN HIGH SCHOOL from Brooklyn. He used to put up 10-12 assist per game in the NBA. Thanks for the memories
Awesome content as always! 🔥 It will be cool if you do one one Clarence Witherspoon. He looked like he was going to be the next Charles Barkley in the 90s. Keep it up bro 👍
Yes, Clarence Weatherspoon next, please. From next Barkley in 76ers to overweight in rockets
I think Billy Owens would be a good one to do.
@@terryjones662 Lol!!! In high school & college, he was hyped up as the next big thing!
Jamal T. was the real life Kyle Lee Watson from the movie Above the Rim to me 😂
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
A guy like Tinsley growth not stunted to me because it’s not enough space for everybody to get off n get numbers. He had a great n memorable career n type game. It’s funny I’m typin this as I’m watchin n u literally say that. This my new favorite UA-cam basketball page fr
I enjoyed watching him, just never got to the next level, had that triple-double Thanksgiving rookie year but Andre Miller played a long time and didn't reach expectations plus the league was loaded with great point guards,Kidd,Payton,Iverson, hard to be an All-Star in that era!!!
I remember going to a Hawks/Pacers game after the brawl so all the stars were suspended and the Hawks were winning with a rather mediocre squad, Tinsley got hot in the 4th and took it to OT and bust they ass pretty much solo lol
Good video JC excellent video on Tinsley keep that content coming. Also please do not forget about Andrea Bargnani Toronto and Canada is waiting for you to do that one.
What about Al Harrington
@@KIDTV-qe2dm gotcha. If you’re ever bored and in the mood for this type of content, he got a bunch of people that might interest you.
Al is doing Wonderfully these days. While in Indianapolis he was just a kid. He stayed to himself alot and tried to remain focused... but back during those days... if you remember... about 3 different Pacer Teams had majority of the players out... with idiot's like I was... out after dark... running the "streets"
Its crazy how many of these stunted growth videos are about my guys that I grew up playing with and against in NYC. So many of these guys had so much talent and just never did anything with it. Back in the days New York had so much talent that got wasted away by so many incredible circumstances. Quite a few bad decisions happened back in the 90's and early 20's in NYC.
Loved his game miss those Iowa State days he was a great PG
Thankyou JC you did my request
Please do one on Flip Murray. Had a good rookie season and seem to tail off. JC my man....
Flip Murray could have been every bit as good as Dwayne Wade and/or Donovan Mitchell. Some dudes the league is ok with staying in the background.
This is a good one that was a really good draft pau gasol tony parker richard jefferson tinsley
On point again my guy!
Request: UNLV Anderson Hunt
Always on point wit your content bro...💯🎯
Indiana Pacers couldve made a great push for the Finals the year of the Malice in the Palace fight
I don’t know how you don’t have a million subscribers 🤷🏾♂️. These stories are always 🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite players as a youngin. Loved those 2000s pacers teams. Tinsley had a great game
I hope the young bloods learn that talent isnt enough. You gotta be working consistently and have forsight and wisdom #salute
4:13 this dude was coldddddd i was thinkin aint no way he gettin outta that n boom.
EDDIE.
ROBINSON.
Do some more Orlando Magic players: Nick Anderson, Jameer Nelson, Dennis Scott, Reece Gaines, Andrew Nicholson, Scott Skiles, Mike Miller, Michael Doleac, Matt Harping, Steven Hunter
Jamario Moon would be an interesting one!
He went to Juco before Iowa State. I went to his juco, Mt San Jacinto in Cali
We need one on Harrison Barnes asap
Now that's a text book stunted growth I think he's biggest stunt was not leaving after his freshman year I remeber being from Iowa they were saying Comparing him to kobe
He still had the best NBA career by an ISU product since Jeff Hornacek.
He had the Dopest handles in the City at his prime💯
Jamal tinsely was the nutmeg god
What about Arthur Agee and William Gates from Hoop Dreams
I think hoop dreams was like a super version of stunted growth, but a dope idea nonetheless
We need a joint on Richard Dumas. ✊🏿
What happened to making a video on Nerlens Noel from number 1 in his HS class to top 10 in the draft!! Growth was stunted for sure!!
Here's one from the crates for you... Charles Smith from Georgetown.
Can you do a stunted growth on Sean May or Kendall Marshall
Amazing !!
U said it's most requested video but you don't know why just give the people what they asking for 🤣💯
How about Jamal Mashburn or the Triple J's?
Dude as a Kansas fan I feared this dude at iowa st. He was everything I wanted to be as a point at the time. Minus his defense of course lol
Great video...I ain't know Tinsley never even played on HS...what about Bonzi Wells?
Love the clips
Would like to see Roosevelt Chapman from Dayton and Walter Berry St. Johns
I don't know much about JAMAAL TINSLEY. I remember him playing in Rucker Park and in da league. We love glorify how hood, how street , and how ghetto we are. What people fail to realize about that mentality it's a very stupid and ignorant way of thinking in life. You would get no where in life but caught in the cycle and miss your opportunity. Change your mentality change your reality. My people we got to think better in order to do better
Excellent Comment ✌🏿 even before seeing this video today... had many memories of JT time in Nap that caused me remorse... "us"... the element he found comfort in... failed him.
Jamal.was solid and one of my favorites.
Dontae' Jones.. David Vaughn.. Ron Slay.. Brandon Wright.. #Nashville #615
I’m going keep pounding the table for an Andrew Bynum video!
Jamaal was one of my favorite players. Yo JC, can you do a Nene episode?
Who’s here after seeing he was the instigator during the malice in the palace
Great Breakdown on how #s can be deceiving and Jamal Tinsley stunted growth and he was a growth spurt in some ways too before the injuries.Eventho he didn't have a jumper he was as pure as a point guard can get in the early 2000s.If Tinsley could shoot better it would have reduced his turnovers more and created wider passing lanes
I still remember a game when he had 20+ Assist.
He had one game 0 points, 15 assists on 0/0 shooting. True point
That was our year to win the championship I hate that fight happen in Detroit. Jamal was a very talented point guard I wish everything worked out for him and my Pacers....
Have you done A.C. Earl yet? Tinsley growth wasn’t stunted; he played 12 season with marginal talented
The Abuser was a problem dude was a general 💯
I got some names Rafael Aurjoe, Andrew Nicholson, Carl English, Cody Zeller, Josh Howard
YOOOOOOOO!!!!! SHOUT OUT FOR THE LOVE!!! YOU ACTUALLY PRONOUNCED MY NAME RIGHT ALSO!!! MAJOR RESPECT JC !!!!
Do Austin Daye next. Hes ballin overseas now looking like a natural scorer. He was the go to option in his 2nd year in Detroit for clutch buckets.
In a 82 game season what's a good number of games to play? That wears and tears on your body very differently especially when you training, playing, and competing at the highest level
I say this about most NYC point guards. They’re all nice with the rock and can get to the hole but can’t shoot. Tinsley, Kenny Anderson, Bassy, Shamgod, Rod Strickland, Mark Jackson. Only exceptions Steph and Rafer Alston
You gotta get some better people gang 💯
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. I was SO unhappy that the Blazers took Zach Randolph (Fat Boy want a corn dog?) instead of Jamal Tinsley!
he was brilliant playmaker
“Go get your foul, Ron” - Tinsley (moments before Malice @ the Palace)
Loved his game was a true push the point 💯
Old school pg
Yeah. Don’t get me wrong the new scoring hybrids are an upgrade, but the perfect blend of playground flavor with big time play creation gets lost when hybrids are just too athletic to need the inbetween game.
Hybrids today either rain down from 30 ft or drive hard for the kickout/rim finish. Kyrie and CP3 are really the only guys that can kill you at half speed just as easy as full speed
@@michaelbonhomme1560 wouldn't be a cp3 without Jamal💯 wouldn't you agree he just took it to another level
@@briand.45 Not really. I don’t think Chris Paul grew up idolizing New York Guards
@@michaelbonhomme1560 it isn't the same flavor as a kyrie Irving you can tell kyrie grew up idilizing N.Y. guards
