bro them vocals sound fucking brutal again! he kinda lost them after we are not your kind but man has he returned!
he always sounds good at the start of a tour cycle but loses his voice towards the end, hard not to screaming 2 hours straight everynight no matter how well trained you are. Nothing has been as bad as the Vol 3 days. Corey sounded terrible then when slipknot was in their prime but sounds better now closer to 50 years old
i saw them in October and Corey sounded fucking amazing the best hes sounded in years
@@abcbizarre I suppose it's the process of steady evolution. S/T and Iowa were full-on no-technique raw rage screaming, which sounds brutal but also shreds your vocal cords to pieces - he was capable of extreme heights, but there's also plenty of live footage of him sounding terrible from back then because it's really inconsistent. Vol. 3 was when Corey was just starting to learn proper technique after he'd completely blown his voice touring Iowa - hence why that album has so much singing and shouting rather than screams/growls. Now he's had almost 20 years of experience doing it properly. It's not as insane as he sounded on Iowa, but it's pretty close and way more replicable.
Compare any concert from 2018 onward to the AHIG era Rock am Ring 2009 for example. It's actually crazy how much better he sounds now despite being 13 years older.

Corey sounds great
Hm everybody say he sounds like Iowa days. But I don't think so. One point is that I think his voice is deeper (but probably its just me on this point).
He is more technical than in Iowa days.
BUT I don't know I think old days there where something dirty in the way he sings and I love it.
And one big point is that he doesn't have the same energy and feeling behind the old songs. I mean thats ok, he get older and you can't catch the same energy that you have years ago. So it's a good performance I'm ok with that but I don't know why ppl say he sounds like Iowa that's just not right. Don't hate me for this I think he is still good or good again but not in the way he was in Iowa
The Iowa vocal tech was dangerous for him, he actually didnt know how to scream without hurting himself (or he simply didnt wanted to scream correctly (heretic :D)) but yeah he will never get these vocals again for obvious reasons. 🤘
Iowa's vocals was just Corey yelling through his throat, that's the reason why it was SO GOOD and also the reason why he stopped doing it. His vocals sound killer nowadays, but he'll never sound as good as he did in the Iowa days.
