Ive only ever used can coconut milk AND cream. If freezing prior, i find it good to give it a whizzy whizz in the lye water with immersion blender before adding to oils. Being from Australia i can vouch Roos & wallabies very wild & dangerous lol but part of our landscape & all the other dangerous critters here! 😂
Yah I get that with the coconut milk, even if you freeze it sometimes it gets really thick. I just whisk it up before adding to my oils. It loosens up pretty well.
Thank you for testing this one out! 💕 I was really caught off guard when I used coconut milk and it did this for me. I really want to use it in a future recipe though, so I am for sure going to try using it at trace next time.
Absolutely love your videos! I love using tinned coconut milk in my soaps for the creamy feel it gives. I use a 50/50 lye solution and add the coconut milk to my oils and find this works well. Have had issues with steric spots when mixing at room temp so recommend mixing at a higher temp or put in oven to force gel phase.
I have switched to Coconut milk from goats milk this summer and I aways add my milks to a slight trace never turns brown or thick I can do what ever swirl I want
This was a cool video! I'm not scared of thickening lye solution now. Does the coconut milk need to be devoid of guar gum? My favorite trip was to Australia where we saw all the lovely native animals. Kangaroos were off limits to interact with but had fun with emus, wallabies and koalas. Isn't Mr Soap and Clay from there? You should take the kids there if you haven't already!
No need to avoid the guar gum, it shouldn’t make a difference in finished product for a solid soap. We haven’t taken the kids to Australia, but it’s definitely on the list. I’ve got some friends there that I would love to see! 💜
Guar Gum can cause issues in coconut milk as well. With that, I only use canned coconut milk but I only use one without Guar Gum. Never had an issue. I’ve also used canned coconut cream:)
So crazy ya I panicked for a minute, but then was like, I’m not wasting this awesome lye solution so let’s see lol 😂 I did freeze mine first and I also used 3% sea moss gel in mine but I was able to get an interesting swirl with 3 colors in mine. And ya that lather is the freaking bomb baby! Love it! I was laughing the whole video because totally the same with the lye! lol 😂❤️
I watched two videos that were shocking about kangaroos. One was of a woman who had a rescued kangaroo and a rescued dog. The dog wanted cuddles from the human. So it jumped on the couch. This pissed off the kangaroo and it started punching the dog. I kept on thinking why did you allow kangaroo to live in your house. The next one was a kangaroo trying to drowned a dog in a lake. The person want and rescue his dog from the clutches of the kangaroo. Both were very wild
HELP Mrs. Soap and Clay 😅 I just made a small batch of soap and I'm trying to get it as white as possible. Even though the soap came out really white, it crumbles so I'm guessing I used too much TD? I did a bit of investigation and found the TD I purchased from Amazon didn't specify if it should be mixed with oil or water so my question is what/where do you purchase your TD and any little tidbits would be appreciated. Thank you soooo much!!!!
The gelled lye might be because of the guar gum 🤔 ... The soap came out nice and I love the lather 😊❤ I do have coconut milk so I will make a soap soon 😊 I will be curious to see if my lye will gel as well cuz the coconut milk I have is the organic Cha's brand from Costco and as ingredients it says coconut, water and that's it 😀 but hey, now that I watched your video I know what to do in case it gels 😀 Thank you! Love, love your work ❤❤❤
Kangaroos and thick lye, let’s get weird.
"ROUSes. I don't think they exist."

I use coconut milk in oils and it works great in swirls or layers with my recipe. Love the lather from it, so creamy and beautiful ❤❤
Pudding! 😂. Gorgeous soap, though!

I loved your plopping into the mold. 😂 I love you!
No YOU!
Plop Plog Fizz Fizz oh what a joy it is! 🤣
Nice Princess Bride reference! 😂

R.O.U.S.'s!!! Love it!!!😂😂😂
I did not have the same experience using canned coconut milk. A few chunks but they blended out. It did turn orange though. Haven't tested yet.

@@MrsSoapAndClay you will love it there! Would the guar gum affect whipped soap/sugar scrubs?

No, you are awesome!
That's not weird it's just that the fat in the coconut milk started becoming soap.....stick blender it well.

My evaporated milk started to saponify too.

aloe vera juice doesn't seem to scorch, what if the milk was put into aloe juice instead of water with the lye???
Hello Beloved miss you
Ohhh i know for sure what happened😂
Kangaroos milk soap? Inconceivable!
It would be so hard to milk a kangaroo.
@@MrsSoapAndClay In general, or as it's fighting you?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
@@Amareiboutiqueks 😆
I pictured trying to go inside of a pocket of a kangaroo to get the milk from reading your comment lol
Was the lye solution scorched?
Swiss soap.

Am I first!?!
I'm FIRST! MEEEE!!!!🎉
I LOVE Mrs. Soap & Clay
She's been instrumental in overcoming my fears of lye and failures.
