That's awesome! I am a big advocate for donating. I started a Free Store almost 9 years ago. One of my projects this year is hygeine kits for our homeless population. That is why I am learning to make soap. One of my volunteers makes soaps and gave me the idea. So we are both going to make smaller bars for their kits. We are a not-for-profit and not a charity so can't claim it on our taxes but that's not a deterrent. There are so many ways to help, I absolutely love this! Wish me luck, my first batch is ready the end of July. I made 3 more batches. It's certainly been a learning experience!

As i'm here in the states, I know that most of the specifics of setting up a soap business that you talk about do not apply. However your general guidance seems quite sound and applicable to me. Thanks again!
Thanks Mike. A lot of the general business side will be the same. It is all the legal and labelling aspects that vary and I think it varies from state to state for you too although I may be wrong.

Great videos, very informative! I'm starting to look into wholesale , Can you give me advice on how to start going about it?
Hi Judith, the best way to think of it is that wholesale is just another customer but with different prices , terms and conditions. Have a wholesale catalogue so they can get a good feel for you and your products, approach those you feel may be a good fit, make sure you have a good profit margin for you and them and good communication so they know how you work, ie payment up front or within 30 days for example.

Kindly assist me with information on the standard formula for instance,I want to make 1kg of caustic soda, how much pko would I add and how much water would I use, how about the other fillers, and their quantity for just 1kg of caustic soda.

I don't use Excel I am afraid. I do have a Google sheets doc and I just list my raw materials on there with a price per gram and then pop in what I am using to work out my costs.
