Also my headcanon for why Lucifer showed up at the end:
Because for most of the time, Adam and the exorcists were attacking sinners, Lucifer couldn't butt in into the situation, because that was heaven's orders, but when Adam went directly for Charlie, his daughter, and a hellborn, he had every right to protect her, because that wasn't part of the Sera's deal.

The Vees' audacity covers up how clever and subtle their plot actually was: Their plan was never to have a hand in whatever outcome happened when Velvette went to the meeting. If the Overlords were convinced to fight, then win or lose, they would take losses, and the Vees wouldn't (given they had no intention of fighting). In the case that the Overlords didn't fight and the angels were indeed killable, then the Vees had a very public "I told you so" on the other Overlords that would cause them to lose moral support. It's a chickenshit little plan, but it's a smart one. The only loss they risked was if the other Overlords outright killed Velvette for disrespecting them. Given that she had a pretty good read on their personalities and conservative tactics, it was a well-thought-out risk.

    • @soveryumble7250
      @soveryumble7250 7 місяців тому +16

"The only loss they risked was if the other Overlords outright killed Velvette for disrespecting them."
Even that was barely a real risk, which Velvette probably knew quite well.
-Killing an Overlord at an Overlord meeting(especially one you hosted) would be a quick road to never be trusted when you try to hold one again, massive blow to yourself.
-Even worse if you do it because the person in question got under your skin just by debating you(if rudely), because you show yourself to be a dumb brute who couldn't defeat what the other overlord was suggesting with your own words, but had to take to violence
-Even worse optics if said Overlord you attacked is the youngest and supposedly greenest, you have no prestige to win by attacking
The meetings are probably almost as sacrosanct as the roman senate meetings were supposed to be(until they killed Caesar), and even if they aren't, killing Velvette would have been a massive prestige loss for any Overlords who tried it(and fantastic propaganda for Vox to use, even if losing Velvette might hurt his team).
Zestial was firing back with insulting behaviour himself, so he clearly knew how to play the game with Velvette, Carmilla kinda blundered into it and got herself cornered and slightly humiliated(Zestial even grimaces as she does it).

plus their arrogant my theory is that the older a soul is the more powerful it can be
besides they also dont know that alistor reappeared after the fight and think he disappeared again
plus they may or may not eventually get on the wrong side of lucifer seeing how charlie and alistor do technically have a deal even if charlie cant harm anyone her old man can

Here is my take on Alastors verse. The expression on his face when he says he almost died for his friends is horrified because that is what almost happened. Before, he admitted to Nifty that he was growing attached to them. He is afraid of this because it means they would have more power over him. Rather than going and seeking help with the residents of the hotel, he decides to double down on his act and distance himself further. I think a major part of his character development will be when he frowns as it means he trusts them more and we were seeing the beginnings of that when he trusted his cane to Charlie with a genuine smile.

Keekee IS the hotel (like its 'soul'). So it would make sense for Lucifer to use her to rebuild so that she remains connected to the new building?
Lucifer is also an angel with creation magic. So if he really wanted to, he COULD probably just magic the entire hotel into existence.
(considering he has an actual workshop, I imagine he probably enjoys the whole process of creating something from scratch when he has the chance)
But building it step by step like this (even though he makes it easier) is more meaningful for everyone involved. The new hotel has a little piece of every one of them in it.

The reason it feels more real with Lucifer is because he didn't believe until Charlie showed him, loke "Holy Shit! You actually CAN do it! NO DON'T STOP! KEEP GOING!"
"Don't tell people what you're going to do, show them what you've done. Nobody is going to believe in you until show them."

There's a theory going around about Sir Pentious that I'm hoping ends up being true:
That he didn't just get into Heaven as a Winner, but that he became a *Seraphim.*
The theory is going off of two things. First is the heavy heart motifs in Pentious' new design, pointing toward the passage John 15:13, ("Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends") and the idea that seraphim are often thought to represent God's love. The second is that the Bible (the Hebrew Bible, specifically) has multiple instances of "saraph" being used to describe a serpent, and that they're sometimes regarded as "celestial serpents".

    • @Nitrinoxus

That would certainly help to explain why Pentious bypassed the Pearly Gates completely and was dropped off in front of Sera and Emily, the only two seraphim shown in the series -- and it might also explain why Sera looked so _mortified._ If a Sinner can be not only _redeemed,_ but immediately _promoted_ to one of the upper echelons of Heaven's hierarchy, that completely redefines the status quo that they've struggled to maintain for _millennia._

Sinners can be injured and killed by any weapon, but only Angelic Weapons can permanently kill them and they'll heal from injuries caused by other types of threats. The reason Alastor's magic could "hurt" them was because of the blunt force when they hit his shield. Consider it like how Lute smacked Vaggie's head against the table and her nose bled. The only special property an angelic weapon has against angels is the ability to pierce the skin. If you pay attention this stays consistent. Nothing other than angelic weapons will ever pierce the skin but other factors cause different kinds of harm. Like when Lute ripped Vaggie's wings off she held her down with her legs and pulled on her wings causing a lot of outward force that tore them. Same goes for Lute's arm. Her arm was crushed between two heavy boulders and she pulled, applying that outward force and causing a tear.

The things she allowed to happen were inexcusable and awful, but at her core she's just terrified and trying to protect her home and the people in it from a problem she doesn't understand well enough to confront and is now being forced to confront that all the horrible things she thought were necessary evils even if she didn't like them were ultimately pointless and achieved nothing but making things worse.
She really wasn't malicious in the way Adam and Lute were, just thoroughly in the wrong and too cowardly to confront the real problem going on because of the consequences she feared that would bring to Heaven.

She was even in the first scene of the canon series being the key that was the focus of the first frame when we came out of the prelude to Charlie and Vaggie talking. Then we keep getting innocuous scene here and there reminding us that she's still a thing. But it's also not like Fat Nuggets, where they just make an appearance, but the scenes she appears she's a focal point. But she's not addressed other than Charlie picking her up, or petting her. Welcome to the rabbit hole of theorizing after this first season ending x) There is a lot we can speculate but it's better to focus on the facts.
Lilith made a deal with Adam and it ended when he "died", if he really is. After all, Luth only took his halo, that could be proof enough if they weren't able to get the body back. But on the other hand, if Adam survived, then the deal would still be in place and Adam could experience life in hell, his righteous place. I saw some people speculate he might never have died after Lilith's betrayal in the first place. After all, it doesn't seem like Lilith died when she was sent in hell with Lucifer. So, it might just get judged now and forced to spend eternity in hell. I mean, wouldn't it be hilarious to see Adam staying at the hotel in order to get back in heaven ? Like, imagine Lucifer and Adam bickering all day ? That would be amazing x)
That aside, we don't know what the deal between those two was. Luth is implying Lilith wish to stay in heaven, the place she was destined to be in the first place. She's been missing for 7 years so Charlie doesn't know about it. But we don't know what Lucifer knows about that whole situation. We know they were a happy couple at some time based on the photos (but yet again, it was the same with Stolas and Stella so...) but then went divorced. Lucifer is obviously upset about the whole situation but we don't know why it happened in the first time, or how long it's been. We can see them of the same picture with a very old Charlie, but she's a 200 years old half-human half-angel being that looks like a 20 years old woman so... But one thing is for sure, Charlie knew them together for some time. Could it be that 7 years mark ? Lilith is never mentioned by Lucifer so we can't be sure of anything.
It could turn any way : Lilith being Adam's equal, she might just be as selfish and rude as him, while Eve being made from Adam might be a little more submissive. Maybe she just got fed up after 10.000 years of having her husband depressed and not doing much for their place. Or, maybe there is something more underneath it all. Like Adam, maybe she did die at some point and was deemed worthy of heaven. Luth said to us that Lucifer is responsible for the extermination only affecting sinners, not the hellborn. So the deal probably isn't about that. Maybe she has a secret that Adam doesn't want to be revealed. Funny that he doesn't mentioned her as well to Charlie. It's only "Lucifer's daughter" while legend says Lilith was the one to gave hell its power. Maybe she was the threat Sera seems to be so afraid of. And we don't know if Sera knows Lilith is even in heaven now, since we know even hight rank angels doesn't know anything, like Emily. And since we don't know how hierarchy works in heaven, or if God even exists... Anyway, it seems strange that Adam would accept Lilith deal if he didn't gain anything from it. Maybe, under the bravado, he's a more complex character. We don't know what effect had the apple on him and Eve. Maybe they became corrupted by it. After all, Adam had a very gentle smile for Luth when he died and she seemed to really appreciate him.
That brings us to Eve case. She's even less present that Lilith, only mentioned in the legend and by Lucifer at the end. The root of all evil, we might say. Did she end up with Adam in heaven ? Sera mentioned he was the first soul to get there, not that we was with someone. Maybe Eve ended up in hell for her "crime", especially if she was the first tempted by Lucifer and Lilith. But, if she was part of Adam, doesn't that mean he should have follow the same path ? We didn't see her at the council. Even if she is lower rank than Adam, Luth was here so... For now, her fate is still a mystery, but maybe she is what Sera was afraid of. Some people think she might be Roo, an antagonist showed by Vivzypop who has a strange tongue. Since Eve ate the apple, it might checked.
Now, about Alastor. We know he made a contract with someone and deeply regret it now. When did that happened ? First time he came to hell, to gain all that power over the overlords ? After all, no one knows why he's so powerful, and I don't think his past can justify it. Or was it 7 years ago, when he went missing ? Valentino mentioned he almost beat Vox that time, but we don't know what it means. Was it on the popular side of things, or a more fighting situation ? If so, it means that, even if Vox seems afraid and obssessed by Alastor, he still beat him at his own game. Surely, there has to be a connection between Alastor and Lilith. You don't throw the 7 years thing if it doesn't mean a thing. We know neither Lucifer nor Adam made a deal with Alastor because they didn't recognized him. You could say Alsator didn't recognized Pentious as well despite their...20 meetings before he join the hotel ? So yeah, maybe, but Pentious did mentioned it while Alastor presented himself to those 2. And, reasonably speaking, if his deal with Charlie wasn't enough to break his chains, then it must be someone above her. Yet, we know Charlie is the most powerful in hell after Lucifer himself. Or, maybe it's a matter of "everlasting bounding" deal like Stolas mentioned to Asmodeus in Helluva Boss. Anyway, despite all this, he's still traped. Some maybe his deal was with Lilith, Eve or Roo. I didn't thinj the system is so broken than Alastor would be able to end up in heaven as a mistake x)
So yeah, lot of thought, only specualtions and a major headache x) Can't wait for season 2 but let's give them time. Hopefully, they'll get more episode to develop the story. And, before that, let's prepare ourself for the heartbreak that "Full Moon" is gonna be in Helluva...

This episode really does a fantastic job showing how much of a threat Adam is. I believe Vivzie mentioned it before in a Q&A video but Angels have a natural advantage against demons so no matter how strong a demon is, it takes a whole lot to overcome that natural advantage. And as we see with his fight against Alastor, it doesn't matter if his fighting style is sloppy, he has so much god damn power that he can just brute force anything. Well, anything except another angel. And sneak attacks. As for Sir Pentious's death, I feel like it was mishandled but that stems from the show's pacing issues. It just happened too fast, we weren't even given enough time to absorb what happened before something else starts happening. They should have taken their time and drag it out a little bit more. Also KeeKee can become a Keyblade. Does that mean Lucifer was part of the Keyblade Wars? And if so, do you think he knows Master Xheanort?

But after him almost dying he reminded himself he's there for a reason. To break free and have revenge. Alastor, altruist almost died for his friends. He's going to throw sentiments out the window. And Lilith made a deal with Adam. Her first husband, to stay in heaven? She's been in heaven for 7 years, and it's thought that Alastor had a deal with her. Or a deal involving her and Charlie. BY THE WAY, did anyone notice the smile Adam gave Lute when he died? Like he was looking at his love for the last time. So... Yet another theory here:
The deal between Adam and Lilith probably involved her helping him travel to and from Hell in exchange for getting to stay in heaven.
Her deal with Alastair seems to be something akin to 'Protect my daughter' since she caught wind of the 'Happy Hotel'. Either to sabotage the hotel so she gives up or see the daughter happy and healthy. Either way, Alastair is stuck serving Charlie whether he or she likes it or not. He's content with helping her seemingly by choice because Charlie might be able to get him out of his deal. As for why she owns his soul, Alistair practiced voodoo. He likely had ties to her before death, and after dying, he had power from their contract. When Lilith went to heaven, he was dragged along and lost much of his power and free reign. This is why he seems so strong, and likely why he thought he could fight Adam since he has power from Lilith, aka a source on par with Adam's.

Then of course Eve ate the apple and the two were each cast from the garden of Eden where they no longer really had to live according to the rules set by God but could live as they chose. (Or it was because adam had hurt charlie and was about to kill her as she is also a hellborne but you know what i mean, amazing writeing that isent called out often.) Number two, more then anything with charlie and vaggie was a reprise of more then anything with lucifer and charlie! Showing charlies connections with the same song is so fricken cute. And finally i love in the end when alastor is haveing a mental breakdoen because hes saying that he was actually growing soft to the cast but refuses to give into charlies ideals. He refuses to be the friend that dies for the cause and belives in it, no thats not who he is or at least who hes been convinceing himself he is all these years. Its why when someone tries to put him down it tsints the image he has made for himself and he gets really upset. Its so intressting that he desprete to get out of the dela and to avoid becomeing soft in the process.

My theory at this point is that each heavenly villain is representative of a deadly sin. Lute is unquestionably wrath, Adam's likely pride, meanwhile I suspect Sera might fit for sloth. If Lilith counts, I'd say whatever deal she made to get into heaven would make her a match for envy. It'll be interesting next season to see if this holds up.
As for who Alastor made a deal with, the smart money seems to be on Lilith, but I've also seen some people suggesting it's Eve. Honestly both make sense to me

  • @jhuh24
    @jhuh24 6 місяців тому

So evidence that Alastor had made a deal with Lilith, 1. In the polit you see him staring at her in the picture with the royal family. 2. Zesitial mention him falling to holy arms. 3. The first thing he did it seems like when he returned was find Charlie. 4. He does just about everything they ask him to do at the hotel, while other characters point out that he is not the type of person to involve himself with it. 5. He tells Adam that he should know what happen when a soul takes their own fate into their hands (but how would he know that information? Unless he spoke to Lucier about Adams position in heaven to prepare for their battle which is possible, but I doubt it because he doesn't like him, and he didn't know about Adam's god rays.) 6. They both disappeared for 7 years. ( And in the polit Alastor shows up shortly after Charlie calls her mom for advice.)

actually its speculated that the deal that alastor is referring to isnt the one with charlie
cause if you remember in the pilot........they never made a deal that forced him to have to help out
he genuinely wanted to offer assistance with the goal of watching others fail for his own amusement
    back in episode 5
husk mentioned alastor was on a leash as well
the question is......what or who would have that kind of power to force alastor to do things he didnt want to do
some speculated lucifer or lilith but seeing that lucifer doesnt know who alastor is and despises him for being close to charlie that leaves the speculation that it might be lilith considering that his defeat against vox and her disappearance coincide at the proper time-frame
lilith is either going to be a possible obstcle or another victim
also the deal that lute mentioned wasnt between her and lilith it was between lilith and adam
so a lot of people are speculating as to what kind of deal did lilith make with adam......cause it couldnt have been anything involving lucifer or charlie cause if so then he wouldve had more trouble fighting them

One head cannon I find worthy to point out and being actually true is the lesson of Carmilla and her song "Out for Love" where she explains one can only win if you doing it out of love for somebody. It should be noted that most of the main cast bonded quite well with each other and all had good reasons to fight which is protecting their friends and the people they care about. Charlie too tapped into some power when Adam was about to hurt Lucifer and she succesfully protected her father. The only exception is Alastor who almost died and even complains or finds the idea ridiculous that he "dies for his friends" and he is only one who does not have any strong genuine bond with anyone of the main cast.

The only thing that makes me think it's not Lilith is that it would be too obvious. We don't know the reason why the deal was made, but i think the "7 year dissapearnce" coinciding is a red-hairing. I don't know who else it could be, but i feel like Lilith is the easiest answer. Even if it's her, it has to be way more complicated than "granted more power". Imo it would feel cheap if it's just a deal about power. Alastor even mentions that "once i figure out how to unclip my wings, guess who will be pulling all the strings". I feel like the deal is constraining him more than helping him. "The constrains of my deal surely have a backdoor".
It's just what i think. I can't wait to see what the truth is about that ^^

I believe it’s Adam and Lillith who made a deal, and Lute just knew about it.
One of my theories is Alastair is a fallen angel. Why?
    1. His haircut is similar to both Lute and Vaggie (before she lost her eye).
    2. He can grow really big when using his powers just like the other sins in “Helluva Boss” (Asmodeus, Beezlebub, and Mammon).
    3. In this last song, he says “unclip my wings”.

I think the implication is that Lilith made a deal with Adam to allow the angels into hell to do the extermination in exchange for her being allowed in Heaven. Lute took the hall presumably because as lieutenant when Adam died, she inherited his position as captain / leader of the army and his halo was a signifier of his rank - notice its golden while the exorcists have black halos. When Vaggie fell they stole her halo too so it’s clearly significant to an angel’s status.
Now that Adam is dead, Lilith is at risk of getting kicked from Heaven if she doesn’t do what Lute says, I.e. go try to rein in Charlie so she’s not redeeming sinners.

I am curious exactly why Alastor didn't use any angelic weapons when fighting Adam, especially given I counted 3 points in that fight where Alastor(or the one minion) landed would have been able to kill Adam an angelic weapon been involved. The two ideas I have are either ego or what I consider more likely(considering that Alastor did use angelic weapons on the other exorcists) is that Adam was specifically being protected by the constraints of Alastor's deal.

    • @whilenya4714
      @whilenya4714 7 місяців тому

The second idea would make perfect sense given Lilith is the one who owns Alastor's soul, since we now know she had a personal interest in keeping Adam alive. I also thought the lack of angelic weapons was odd, considering he seemed to have no problem using them against other angels, which he likely would if it was only a matter of pride. Obviously she wouldn't have let Alastor get away with killing Adam and making whatever deal she made void.

I had some shower thoughts today about why there hasn't been a single redeemed soul until now: what is A FACTOR of it was that Adam was still in Heaven? An angel that was harming and corrupting heaven and would have been a danger to any soul redeemed into heaven? It's definitely not a Sole Factor, probably not even a Main Factor, but what if it was A Relevant Factor?

    • @FenDweller13
