- Gave a spin to JC again with a cover of "Little Blue". If you've seen his performance for Mahogany you'll know what im talking about with the alternate tuning, but I think my version with standard tuning also turned out quite nice! Hope you like it :)
Let me know if you'd like to see tabs
BUT GUYS!!! I got into Berklee College of Music whaaaaat (the best music school in the world)!!! I need your help though. If you know my story, you know I'm getting no support from my family to follow my dreams (they want me to be a doctor) so I really need your help. I got 50% scholarship from Berklee but I still need some money to cover the rest. If you can spare even 1 dollar, I'd be eternally grateful. You can support me directly through the link below (thank you):

Also! I'm releasing a single on the 5th of April! It's called "Japanese Knotweed" and it'll be the first teaser for my debut EP coming out in May.
You can pre-save the song now (which helps a lot so please please do, it's completely free) under this link:

OK NOW the lyrics of the song I'm singing for you today:
Little blue, be my shelter
Be my cradle, be my womb
Be my boat, be my river
Be the stillness of the moon
If I could, I'd go with you
To a place I never knew
In your eyes, so dark and open
There's a light that leads me back to you
'Cause you're not so far away
I hear you say
"You'll never walk alone"
Singin'
Don't be afraid of the dark
In your heart
You're gonna find a way
To carry the weight of the world
On your shoulders
You're gonna find a way home
Little blue, be my anchor
Be my light, my compass star
Be my darkness, be my danger
Be the strings of my guitar
Little blue (little blue)
How I love you (how I love you)
Somethin' strong and somethin' true
In your arms (in your arms)
So dear and gentle
There's a home
That leads me back to you
'Cause you're not so far away
I hear you say
"You'll never walk alone"
Singin'
Don't be afraid of the dark
In your heart
You're gonna find a way
To carry the weight of the world
On your shoulders
You're gonna find a way
Don't be afraid of the light
It's alright
You're gonna find your way
To carry the weight of the world
On your shoulders
You're gonna find your way home

Me carrying the weight of subscribing to all the madly underrated musicians on youtube
thank you for your service, the world needs you
SAME HERE!
I prefer Collier's "bullshit".
Amazing reharmonization, juicy vocals. Thank you for making this!
Thanks a lot!! ❤️❤️
I dont think people realize how impressive this is. subscribed.
Oh wow thank you ❤️
Incredible
as usual, very pretty interpretation. this song means a lot to me personally, and I think your version sounds very cool!
Thanks so much! ❤️❤️
JC also has an alternate guitar. 5 strings. He explains his guitar, its tuning, and his thinking over on Paul David’s channel. It’s cool.
Everything we think of as ‘standard’ was once a new idea. Then we settle into the good ones. Then we get bored. And new ideas come along… but, you know this.
Also, love your musical style, great stuff. 🎉
Oh, the innocence and arrogance of youth.
Karolina has a beautiful voice, and sings this song really nicely.
Sadly, I have yet to hear a cover version of this song which include the more complex modulations which Jacob uses on his original song. To work these out takes a great deal of listening and would be a steep learning curve for anyone to master.
Most pro musicians - even jazz pianists - would struggle to do this, so Karonlina is far from being alone in not attempting this most demanding of musical tasks.
Strangely enough, a former student of mine, the musical savant genius Derek Paravicini, could almost certainly do this almost instantly, because of his extraordinary musical gift.
Although playing complex harmonies on piano and guitar is most certainly my area of expertise, even I have to work hard in order to work out the things which Jacob Collier does. He is the musical genius of our age.
I agree. For me Jacob's surprising reharmonization of the second prechorus is the high point of the song, and omitting it makes the song simply pleasant instead of amazing.
Oh wow, this is perfect! Lovely interpretation and the title is crack up 😂
I've seen your vids pop by every now and then and have to say I love what you make and admire the dedication. Best of luck on your journey.
That headline had me in Stitchs 😂😂😂
Subscribed in under 30 seconds. A new record, by a long shot.
Beautifull and soul filling...
You take my breath away Karolina. Celebrity crush #1.
Wow, that was stunning!! I'd love ro see tab for your version!
Oh my, how lovely, thank you - beautiful voice and playing skills!
Oh thank youuu ❣️
Beautifully sung and impressive how you make that guitar part look like it's easy while in my eyes, it surely isn't.
Please keep going and cherish your musical gifts. They are wonderful and you bring beauty into the world through them.
Big props for this!!! It sounds wonderful and I'm very impressed by your singing and playing skills ^--^
Thanks so much
Beautiful! The reharmonisation flows perfectly with the rest of the piece... Bravo! Mixing tip: put an extra clip on mic onto your guitar and give your vocal a little boost, it gets swallowed by the guitar a bit, because they share a lot of the same frequencies
Thanks a lot!! + some good tips, will try my best next time
Hi Karolina ... yes, I like it a lot! Really nice. Have been messing with this song today before I came across your version and, like you, I was also using standard tuning ... I can't be doing with all this alternate tuning bull***t either!! OK if you've got a room full of guitars that you can leave all differently tuned but otherwise it's a real pain. Anyway - some great ideas courtesy of your excellent interpretation. Thanks for posting and all the best!
Jacob should definitely see this .
why is this so underrated
That came out beautiful Karolina!!
Thank you!! ❣️
This is incredibly smooth. Love the little "bossa-nova" (for lack of a better term) parts like at 1:08. Instantly subscribed. The re-harmonization is nasty.
Thanks so much! Looking for song recommendations btw ❤️ let me know if you have any ideas!
Beautiful song and beautiful interpretation!
Thanks so much!!
waaaaaaaw, just waaaaaaaw. As smooth as powerful
Thank you! ❤️
Very nice!!!!❤
Wonderful. ❤❤❤
Thanks!! ❤️❤️
wtf i was not expecting this to be so good
Ohoho thanks
i have not heard JC original one yet, but this is amazing
I'm impressed how you improved your guitar skill!
Wow. That is incredibly hard in standard tuning. Great rendition.
Thank you haha ❣️
absolutely beautiful 💘💘
That was a beautiful rendition thanks 😊
❤️
Underated af
I am looking forward to listening to you in big events, the world needs to listen to what you have to say
Thanks so much!! Let's hope this happens soon haha
Very nice Karolina.
Thanks! :)
Is that SM7b picking up the guitar too or do you have some out-of-shot mic on it? It sounds really clear, I kind of wouldn't have expected that mic to pick that up that well from that distance but I'm still learning this stuff.
(also: sounds really great!!)
Congratulations on getting in to Berklee.
Thank you!!
tears, thank you
Wow! Very nice interpretation. I mistakingly thought that “no alternate tuning” would mean simple. Not the case.
This is great! Well done!
You have a really beautiful voice with a great range...
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it 🌸
Wow complete reharmonisation ! Sounds amazing great job !!
Thanks so much!! ❤️
I haven't actually heard the original version, but I'd say this tuning worked quite well!
Thank you thank you!!
Tbh I haven’t listened to the Spotify version but live session with Mahogany is very nice indeed 🌻
Would’ve been interesting to leave the verses exactly harmonically as Jacob had them since that was never the harmonically complex part, and then do something with mainly that harmonically adventurous pre-chorus he does (my two cents)
I just wish you had a condenser mic for the guitar.
And now its just quite as a bossa nova
Ye okay you are like Jacob Collier, because it's video 2 I'm watching and I'm already thinkin hmm maybe I AM bad at music lmao
nice, beautiful. but that bs you mentioned i think is exactly what brings dynamics and depth i feel your version is missing
marvellous relaxed voice … and fiendish fingering …
❣️
beautiful, think your version sounds more like classic jazz while JC's with a tuning that allows for more sliding tones and droning (which fits his singing style) sounds more like alt folk. your title sounds click baiteee agro (ha??) which is fine but as a Joni Mitchell fan, alternate tunings rule so hard.
Super
Dzięki babciu! :)
Step 1 - practice. Step 2 - turn on the camera.
Pretty neat, sounds good, but looks hard to play. Joni Mitchell's songs could be a good challenge!
Thank you! And a very good shout! Any song in particular? 🚀
@@karolinawilgus9539 There are so many great songs with altered tunings: California, Free Man in Paris, Both Sides Now.
where did you get such a big chord brain? hehehe
Just stole from Brazilian brains and Lianne la Havas 🤫🤫🤫🤫❤️
I hate alternate tuning… one is enough .-) xx
Thank you hahaha
:))
5 people lack a soul
better than the original.
Omg ❤️ thank you!
I personnally don't like this random reharmonisation that goes in all directions with no real purpose ... Sorry ...
I do like it
All good 🤙🏼
You say alternative tuning bullshit. In all technicalities moderday tuning is by all physical and even physiological accounts the less accurate method for tuning....
Okay
Same haha
No. The alternate tuning that Jacob Collier uses is literally just a tuning so that he can play 99% of his chords as barre chords. has nothing to do with accuracy, its just about making it easier to play.
@@archologyzero it has nothing to do with making it easier to play. watch his interview with paul davids. it's entirely to do with his origins as a piano player and his desire to make the guitar serve his musical intuition, and not fall into the same chord voicings as everybody else.
@@LewisLoree OH so it just so happens that his "musical intuition" is only playing barred chords XD INTERESTING.
