Hello Luke! I listen to your podcast to study English, but I often find myself laughing out loud because of your bright and kind energy. Thank you for bringing small moments of happiness into my daily life.
Hi Luke. Please don't hesitate to film any rambling videos!!! They are really valuable to us because what you might consider less prepared is actually a good resource for learning natural English. I've learned a lot from when you just talked spontaneously, and I believe others do too.
Hi Luke! Thank you for this episode (and for all of the others too). It’s always a pleasure to hear you talking about things you’re passionate about 💞 I’m passionate about music too, to be honest. And I’m pretty sure that it’s important to treat yourself from time to time :) that’s why for the first time in my life I ordered a cake! For my birthday! By myself! With a picture of my favourite music band on it! Anyway, I’m looking forward to the new episode of Luke’s English podcast and to my birthday of course 😅 Have a great day, take care and stay healthy you and your family! 💓
Hello, Luke! I've enjoyed this rambling episode because you have talked about various themes, you have played different sorts of guitars, you look so happy and relaxed when you talk about your children and when you play guitar!!! Obviously, I'm always pleased to hear your clear modern RP English. As regards reporters' way of speaking English, I think they should speak as well as you do. Thank you for your dedication and kindness. 😊
Hello, I've started watching from the very first video. You're a young person full of ambitious and creative energy. So young! Your voice has always been and remains easy to listen to. Thank you.
Hi, Luke! Regarding why it’s beneficial to learn a language without any trace of your native accent, I’ve found that it significantly improves your communication effectiveness. It removes many barriers to language fluency, making conversations much smoother and more comfortable. Thanks for your work; it’s really fun listening to you!
Dear Luke, how many talents do you have! Your parents should be proud of you! I was in Paris at that time. The whole week was raining. When I was there I told my daughter” you know Luke Thompson lives in this city”))) she saw you on UA-cam while I was listening to you. May be soon you will become a sightseeing of Paris😂
Your singing and guitar playing at the end was as sweet as a piece of cake! I am a piano teacher and it made me smile to hear that you used to be such a diligent piano student 😊.
This piece of unfinished cake was in fact the cherry on the cake, as ending up in your pod-castle and staying there with you and your wonderful guitars was real fun. Thank you, and have a nice day
Thank you very very much for amazing lessons you are the best very clear and and understandable l think any people even with a low ability will finally speak understqnd and love English ❤
Finally it's sunny in Paris! When you can't sleep at night, it's a pleasure to find Luke's new épisode. And listening to a mini-concert of Simon & Garfunkel is the icing on the cake!😊🎸🎶
Hi Luke! Thank you for such an interesting episode. I loved the song being explained, but I just hope that most musicians enjoy the tour:-) And about the cake...well, I don't think that cakes mind being eaten, they might actually be made to be eaten. Thank you for bringing English plus so much more to us the way you do it. It's amazing. I hope you have lots of sunny days in Paris this summer.
Thanks a lot for this video! I guess my level of English is already B1 by listening to your podcasts. I wait such useful videos on channel. Thanks too much again:)
Thanks, teacher Luke. Your hard work was like a piece of a delicious cake for me, in this extremely cold Monday evening! Perhaps the lyrics of the song referre to the routine of doing always the same things without a sense of living...I do not know, but singing and playing and instrument is very ejoyable!
Hi Luke, thanks as always for your podcast. It was a peace of cake for me to listen to the end. Oh yes, of course to watch too.😉 The Simon & Garfunkel song was very well performed by you. I've always liked their music. Of course I also like your guitar collection.
Listening to this episode all the way to the end was a piece of cake for me Luke, it took me 4 days😄. But, I have no regrets. I really enjoyed listening to you, it was fun and interesting and I'm not surprised because each episode by Luke is interesting. I liked the song at the end, it was pleasant and relaxing. I love your rambling episodes, please do more of them. Thank you for everything! 🤗
Your sense of humour is incredible. God bless you. I learned a lot, and I'm sure i will put it into practice. Luke ate the cake half way and showed it on the podcast, almost at the end.
Hi,LUKE! THIS EPISODE IS LIVELY AND ENGAGING - I CAN ADD IT'S AS SWEET AS A PIECE OF CAKE! I LEARNED A LOT OF WORDS ABOUT THE STRUCTURE OF A GUITAR. ENJOY ALL YOUR BUSINESS!
❤Another nice episode! I really want to listen to all your episodes, they are all interesting!! If only I could find you earlier!! I like watching people talking about things, especially in an interesting way. I admire you for doing this nice job, sir!! You're a kind, funny smart, and selfless person! Your whole family and friends are very nice too! God, you are like a perfect person. Although you have your own struggles sometimes, You're still a very nice person. Hope you have a wonderful life. You deserve it!🎉🎉 Your voice is so positive that when I have a bad time I will listen to your podcast.❤❤I can't understand why some people give you thumbs down, It's annoying!👿Why can't they just leave, bad people. I typed these things using my limited words, hoping there weren't many improper words. It's late here in China. Oh, by the way, when you said one of your friends lived/live in China(can't remember), I was just so excited to hear my Country's name, anyway, It's time to say bye……bye……bye……bye-bye🥳🥳
I don't know if James is a guitar guy considering his background as a drummer and his passion about electronica but I think it would be cool if you 2 did an episode on your favourite guitarists. In the UK you've always had astonishing guitar players like George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Ritchie Bkackmore... Just to mention some of the most famous. Anyway, I always love any music-related content that you release, from the episode of British punk to the recent one on Madness. Cheers!
Hi Luke, i love listening to your videos on UA-cam while i'm doing boring hosework which i used to hate, but listening to your episodes and your amazing voice (not only Amber has one, as you often mentiones) makes me always smiling, laughing and happy, so my hosework becomes a peace of cake😊
Hello hello, Teacher Luke. As always every episode is fun!🎉Thank you so much.🧡As a side note, Before I leave the house I never fuffing around.😂💙❤from Japan!🫶
Adding some words regarding learning English and accent.. I am from China and my English definitely has a strong trace of Chinese accent, but I’ve heard A LOT OF times people commenting on my accent.. saying.. it does not have a typical regional accent (Maybe they’re just trying to be nice..) I think a lot of people adapt their accents like me. I heard them sound completely different when they talk to people from India than when they talk to people from the US. Unconsciously people just do such things, like they choose different vocabs and use different intonations and even pronunciations. So like now I don’t even care at all if I sound Chinese or Californian or non-American.. Also some accents are much easier to pick up than others. Stay in LA for one week and you’ll sound like a valley girl. But stay in the UK for a life you wouldn’t sound British 😢
Hello luke thank you for your work. This is the great podcast I listened in my life. And I would be very glad if you record a podcast on Euro at least 3 or 4 times pls
Hello, Luke! Thanks a lot for your podcasts! I absolutely love them! They are really helpful! I just wanted to mention about the name of the TV show 'Black Mirror.' I've seen an interview with Andrew Scott, and he said: "Some people don't even know what Black Mirror means. You know that small mirror in our pockets. Our phones."
Yes, to be fair the title does refer to the screens of our phones, which Charlie Brooker has described as like a black mirror. But I am sure he's also seen Spinal Tap and that might have influenced him too.
👋🏻 Luke I’m not particularly into guitars but it was interesting listening when you talked about and played with them. Now I’m going to eat my cake. 👍🏻 Cheers 🌞
Responding to Luke talks about around the 1-hour mark aka "the accent thing": While I understand Luke's point of "you can do whatever you want, who is stopping you and you can do whatever you want, I have to say I disagree with that sentiment. The issue for me is that this sort of attitude creates a myth that an impeccable native-like accent is everything people should strive for in English language learning, which cannot be a healthy thing because as Luke points out, it's usually unrealistic and unachievable for most people. But I'd go further than that. Essentially, those people who don't achieve it ( = 99.9 per cent of English learners) or at some point along their journey realize it's impossible to achieve are likely to struggle in terms of their confidence and fluency. This will affect their self-esteem and mindset as they'll rarely give themselves enough credit for being "good enough". It's far more valuable for people to take it easy, learn English at their own pace, and have fun in the process. They'll have far better results and feel good about themselves along the way, which will have a positive effect on their motivation, too. I've been through this and ever since I let go of the idea of wanting to sound perfect, I've felt much happier. And one more point, online ads, content creators, and some wannabe teachers on Instagram prey on people's insecurities because this myth hasn't been busted yet.
Hey Luke, really love the simple and clearly way that you made this podcast. It would be great if you can share which software/tool that you used to record this great podcast please!
Hi Luke, I enjoyed your rambling episode, especially the musical parts. Simon and Garfunkel's music is one of my favourites. I've just come home from Italy, where I saw that even ducks go to Restaurants for a good meal. 😀

Hello Luke. I'm brazilian. Is great to learn with you.
Hey Luke I’ve been reading Sherlock Holmes recently. You’ve really inspired me to learn English. Great podcast. Great content.
Adding some words regarding learning English and accent..

And if a foreigner wants to learn Chinese and ends up picking up my accent, yes I’d be flattered.
And scared.
